This is simply not what you get in the pictures. The 24/7 reception is closed and dark at night with no bell to ring. The breakfast nook does not look like it has been painted in the last 10 years let alone cleaned, there is no bar/lounge and the room does not look like the pictures. I highly question the 'exceptional' rating and the 10/10 ratings this place got. Its a 4/10 or a 5/10 being honest and fair

Worst hotel I have been to.
Rooms has no wall to separate from corridor, only a glass window with an opaque plastic paper.
No windows, only view to a literal garbage place they use behind my room.
Woke up without electricity in the morning and decided to leave the place.
Staff refused to acknowledge and to refund.

The location is excellent, it’s very close to everything like shops and the Sword Lake as well as the Old Quarter. Breakfast and service were ok. However the room is very small, bathroom is literally inside the room with a tiny space for toilet.

Excellent location.5 minutes from bus stop for bus 86 to and fro airport. 10 minutes easy walk to lake. In old quarter. Lots of shops and eateries around including cafe. Staff friendly and breakfast allows free hot noodles or meats daily as per your order. Only downside is that the toilet in our room stinks. I tried washing it every day but cant quite get rid of smell and I could not open toilet window for ventilation. On the whole, a great hotel

We arrived at the hotel to be told that it was full and we had to stay at a sister hotel. This seemed like a classic trick to get more bookings. They tried to portray it as an upgrade but the sister hotel was further out from the centre and the room was old fashioned and damp.

This hotel is in a great spot, 5 mins walking distance to the lake. The Aha coffee shop across the road is a good place to watch life go by and coffee is the best.
The staff here were friendly, helpful and spoke great English. My room was dark, (no windows) but you're only there to sleep of a.night so it wasn't a major concern. When I asked to stay another night, I had to change rooms but they were more than accommodating and helped me move my stuff. The new room was a bit more expensive but they reduced the price for me. It was huge, and bright and airy.
Overall a great place and I'd stay here again.

Stayed in a room with windows on two sides providing street and city views. Everything was excellent with nothing to complain. Central location, cleanliness, new facilities, nice amenities, nice elevator, nice buffet breakfast, kind and helpful staffs, fast wifi, and abundant electric outlets. Ladies at the reception were very helpful for every information and didn't push for selling tours. One of the best typical boutique hotels in Hanoi. If I come to Hanoi, I will definitely stay here with no hesitation.

Booked this hotel for our recent stay in Hanoi. Upon booking in, our room was not available due to the previous guest being unwell and unable to fly. The staff located us to one of their sister hotels. As we were travelling to Halong Bay the next day, they organised our bags to be bought back to their hotel. Room was clean, air conditioner worked well. Complimentary bottle of water and snacks where in the room when we arrived. Breakfast was ample with the staff cooking eggs fresh if required. Room was a little noisy with all the traffic outside but soon got used to it.

First week I stayed at room 601 and loved it but the second week they put my in this room (403) without and outside room, it felt damp and was kind of smelly. I was hoping to get the same room again but was disappointed they didn't check me into it or were able to move me. Very positive mentioning goes to the girl working in the breakfast room. Very nice and I was impressed by her English which she started learning just 2 month ago.

Hanoi Focus was a great stay. The front desk were always positive and helpful. If you like good coffee, this is the area to be in - vietnamese coffee, egg coffee and european style coffee are all right at your door.
