Excellent breakfast.
No evening meal. Bed too small. Bedroom walls very thin, felt like we were sleeping in the corridor.

The staff were great and hard working.
The website said there was food available as well as breakfast. But upon arrival we were told there was no meal service other than breakfast as some staff had left.

Perfect for the start of our cycling tour. After a warm welcome our bikes were stored in a locked room downstairs. Our twin bedroom was clean and comfortable with a view over the main street. The bar on the first floor was bright and airy. We had a good night's sleep followed by a good breakfast served by friendly staff. The hotel is fairly basic but is clean, comfortable and excellent value for money with first class staff.

The soap dispenser in the bathroom leaked all over the floor during the night and I slipped on it in the morning and nearly got hurt
It was quite a long way from the car park to the hotel.

It was the perfect location for where we needed to be. The breakfast was lovely - apart from the lorne sausage...tough.
I appreciated the early check in free of charge.
It's quite dated.
The room was small. We upgraded too.

Its a lovely quirky hotel set in the heart of the town with easy access to local amenities, restaurants and main roads to nearby towns.
The family rooms (203 and 204) were clean, comfortable, and well maintained - a good honest value for money 2 night break. The staff were polite and exceptionally friendly, and we were reminded that if we needed anything at all, just to call in at the reception. Nothing is too much effort, and Alex was a wonderful hostess.
The breakfasts are hearty and well worth adding on if you're staying. Stay for lunch, have a drink at the bar, mingle with the locals and take your time to soak up the history of this fine old school hotel!
We will be back!
During busy times, the parking can be busy, but there is a spill over carpark across the road. I understand this cant be controlled by the hotel as its shared with a couple of other pubs. Its so insignificant, its hardly worth mentioning, but still important for visitors to be aware of.

In centre of town lots of choice for evening meal. Very helpful staff rushed off her feet with 20 guest to look after at breakfast.
The steep steps to first floor no lift. So after a long day it ather tiring as have heart problems.

Clean and rather large room. Flow heating in the shower. Family space with two rooms very handy. Tasty breakfast.
Appearance is a bit more on the cheap side - not much of a character you might expect when seeing the exterior. Too little furniture in the room, could do with a decent table. Location is convenient, but the smell from the window was distinctly as on the animal farm. Since there are no conditioners, the window needed to be open. Noisy outside. Very long wait for the breakfast - about 20 minutes after ordering.

Breakfast was excellent, staff were friendly. I think the hotel is more suited to travellers.
Fire alarm on first night stay at 5am nobody from the hotel turned up for an hour meaning i and other guests were left in the car park with no information. There was limited evening meal choices as the main area appeared to be some form of coffee lounge offering light bites. I had to travel to the next town to get something decent to eat. Room was dated and the wifi was terrible in my room.

The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
As a hotel I did expect evening meal options - but if you read the website it does mention no evening dining facilities

Booked a room for 4 people.
Was given 2 room, conjoined.
Beds was very comfortable, there was coffee, tea, sugar, milk and shortbread PERFECT.
Although it is on the high street and on a corner it wasn't too noisy (although we went out before the pubs shut.)
We travelled from northwest England - Blackpool, for a wedding in Gretna, I had unfortunately forgotten my shoes for the night do, staff gave me a few options on where to look (we sorted some but I wouldn't suggest you make same mistake as there wasn't many options.)
The bar/check in lady showed us a list of taxis (I would advise you plan ahead of time as most numbers nobody answered, the one who did said it was a hour wait) so we ended up driving. Meaning I had to limit how much I drank, then thankfully there was a spare room at the wedding hotel so we got a little sleep there then came back around 2am, the door was locked (that's what that 2nd key is for btw.)
The next morning we went for a little wonder then decided on going back to get some breakfast before driving home, breakfast finished at 12, it was bang on 12 but hey ho, we ordered something else, food was quick and nice.
When we arrived around 2.15pm we found there was no spaces left for customer parking, the football was on so guessing people had used the spaces while they went next door to watch the football - not a huge deal as we parked over in rhe sweet place car park and then moved it when a space came up...
If I had to find any fault and this is nit picking but everyone knows us English love a good fry up after a night of drinking to soak up all that alcohol ( I did tell my brother they did it there but he said we will look around first) so when we got there and saw it stopped at 12.00 and it was bang on 12.00 ... like I say nothing major and there may be a good reason why it has to be exactly that time but maybe like a 5 min grace period.
Also I did email when we got back in the early hours to ask fot late check out as knew we wouldn't be okay fot drive home, but was woke at 11 to leave, so maybe a quick check of emails.
Other than that thank yiu for a great stay.

location in centre of Annan. Friendly staff - especially Amy.
beds far too soft; western facing on hot days, rooms became a furnace. very mediocre toiletries and shower was temperamental. Bath towels reasonable quality but far too small

Room was spotless, nice white fresh bedding. Ample tea coffee milk available.
Cooked Breakfast was very good hot and varied, all cooked as you liked it, various cereals if required.
Hotel was Central in the town with ample free parking at the rear of the hotel.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Quite a few stairs to climb which was not a problem to us as we only had holdalls but could cause problems for the less agile and those with suitcases.

Hotel was on the high street and very close to some good restaurants. The suite had two bedrooms which were quite spacious. The arrangement was superb for our family of four. The staff was super friendly and helped us with our dinner arrangements. Parking was near the hotel.
Nothing. Everything was just as per our expectations!
