Great staff, awesome location in the rainforest, excellent food at the restaurant on site, beautiful location, and spacious room and bathroom. Great value for the price.
I can't think of anything I didn't like! Maybe the bugs outside? Lol, but it's the rainforest!! 😄 definitely loved this place and highly recommend it

A very rural location in a beautiful part of the country. Definitely off the beaten track (about 7km off the nearest bit of tarmac, actually). Quirky and individual cabins in a working farm area, but with well kept gardens and grounds. You can walk out from the property, but it is better to book a horse and guide - one of the highlights of the trip. The hosts provide meals (there is nowhere else to go really), but they are lovely, fresh and well cooked. We went to a hot springs nearby, as recommended by the host, and it was a good choice and much cheaper than those around La Fortuna. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful. We got a puncture in the hire car and they called a local garage on a Sunday to get it fixed.
The rooms don't have much in them, but they are clean and comfortable.

great tips from the owner who speaks english very well and was going out of her way to make us comfortable, spacious rooms with a stunning view of the garden, loads of hummingbirds, dinner was also good

it was nice and quiet
The location was really bad. The road that was indicated by the staff was in very bad conditions for almost 20 to 30 kilometres. It was written “near the Parque del Rincon de la Vieja”, it was in fact 1h30 away from this park.

Excellent staff , very friendly , answered all our questions and needs. The food was also very good, we also enjoyed the hike to the river. Lots of birds and wild life around the property which was very nice to see.

Amazing area, the property had all kinds of birds and critters. Probably the most rustic place we stayed on our trip. Comfortable beds. VERY loud night being so remote we could hear all sorts of animals. The howler monkeys started around 3 am. It was a neat experience but made for a bit of a restless sleep. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Amazing breakfast. Couldn't use the wifi in our bungalow because of low bandwith. STUNNING property! Hiking trail on property. Beautiful and quiet bungalows and very relaxing spot.
The road to the National Park was in poor condition so we had to take the 1 hour 30-minute alternate route instead of 12 kilometers just down the road.

the staff was so friendly. the room felt very large. the price. the food. the dogs. crazy weather, it stopped and started raining like 10x. a very nice one of a kind experience.
not much else around, but that’s the point. could use an extra trash cab outside the bathroom.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating! We arrived at 6pm and wanted dinner, and they offered to bring the dinner to our cabin. We loved the rustic atmosphere, with displays of traditional farming tools that the owner family used. Coffee was served with freshly squeezed milk and homemade cheese. The cabins were beautiful with enormous windows that had views of beautiful plants, trees, and flowers.

We loved everything! The place was in an amazing location in the middle of jungles. They owners were extremely helpful and sweet. We stayed in about 15 properties on our trip in CR but this one was the one that got stuck in the memory. The location was just so beautiful. Would love to stay there for more nights!!

The family and service was absolutely wonderful. It was a beautiful experience and they went above and beyond to make our stay very memorable.
Nothing they could do, but the road the last half hour was pretty rough.

The hostess is a lovely lady! Her cooking skills are phenomenal and she cares so much! We had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants something less touristy and in pure nature. The roads leading up to the lodge are not very comfortable but it was definitely all worth the effort to go the extra mile to this corner of Costa Rica :)

Amazing friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make our stay as good as possible. The cabin was surrounded by wonderful gardens and scenery. I thought the food was brilliant and very reasonably priced.
Nothing, it was rustic and characterful as I expected.

What a beautiful place. It was so much more than we'd expected. The photos don't tell how beautiful it is. There's a nice restaurant where they serve fresh foods and cold drinks all day and they were so nice to make something special for the baby. The cabins are nice, not too luxious but very specious and in a beautiful garden. We can really recommend to do the horseback tour, you'll go to places where you won't go by yourself (right through the jungle and rivers). Don't doubt, book this place!!
Oh and once there, go and do the 6km trail in Rincon de la Vieja, nice bubbling mud pools and so, but please skip the Rio Negro hotsprings: super expensive and super crowded. Try to find local ones.
Just a perfect place with such lovely people. Go! You'll feel at home.

Very quiet place for a nature lovers! There was a good restaurant: we had dinner and breakfast. Do not use google maps to get there, the road is awful! Google maps doesn’t have an alternate route to the property. Use Waze instead!
The bathroom had no hot water, no shelves and no shampoo or ever soap. The room had just beds and one small nights stand, no hangers (even a nail would be good), so we had to keep our staff on the floor. The upper bunk bed had no stoppers, so we didn’t use it because you might easily fall down during the night. One of the blankets had an awful smell, but was replaced when we asked to. Couple chairs also would be great, or just anything to sit on. There was a balcony, but we didn’t use it because there were no furniture there as well. Very simple house with nothing inside.

such a beautiful little place . surrounded in stunning wildlife and countryside . the accommodation cabins are a delight to stay in and especially wake up in and watch the birds from bed . amazing .
really nothing to dislike but the cabins could really benefit from having some tea n coffee making facilities and a little fridge . this is a minor thing as it’s easy to go to the restaurant but being able to sit in bed with a tea or coffee at day break would have been a real delight .

Perfect place for nature lovers. A bit remote but I think it's the reason why we liked this place so much. Property owners have built the place like a botanical garden and are very polite. We have had an amazing time here, highly recommend.

Perfect remote location. Wish we would've stayed longer. The food was one of the best we've had in Costa Rica. The cabanas are very nice and the giant garden is amazing to stroll around and early morning bird watching.
A Mosquito net above the bed would've been perfect.
