About this house rental

In the middle of the quaint Northamptonshire village of Maidford lies this lovingly renovated Georgian rectory ideal for large family getaways. Each room tells a different story, with unique finds ranging from antique plates to watchful bird art and even a crocodile in the downstairs loo – a model one, don't be alarmed! At every turn, this stunning home manages to surpass expectations. In the ten acres of grounds surrounding the property, you'll discover a heated swimming pool, a barbecue, a huge alfresco dining area and manicured gardens where you can escape for a moment's peace. Say hello to the bantam chickens wandering about, too – they're sure to be firm friends by the end of your stay. There's even a games room so you can start up a table tennis tournament or practise your putting on the mini-green. When you fancy a day out, the stately home and gardens at Canons Abbey are twenty minutes away in the car, while the ears of motorsports fans are certain to prick up when they hear the journey to Silverstone's hallowed circuit takes about half that time. Home truths: *There are chickens that wander the grounds, so any pets need to be discussed in advance *Your hosts have a couple of friendly dogs that like to greet guests *Alongside the bedrooms, there's space for up to four additional guests on a double sofa bed in the downstairs sitting room, plus two folding beds * Since the photos were taken a standalone shower has been added to the third bathroom * Your hosts stay in a bungalow on-site when the house is let – it's 400 yards from the house on the other side of the stable yard * This is a family home, so you may find some personal effects around the place *We'd recommend a car to explore the area – there's ample on-site parking *Access to the home is via a private entrance
