About this house rental

An ocean front landmark house designed by a famous designer, remodeling recently. Next to the attraction of La Jolla cove. Walking distance to restaurants, museum, beaches, gallery and stores in La Jolla village. It is the best location in La Jolla , but not five star hotel. It is a old cottage style house and remodeled two years ago. If you looking for location, convenience, and oceanfront, here is Perfer for you.

This house is divided into two upstairs and downstairs units with its own entrance. The two units are totally separated except sharing the laundry and garage, as well as air condition temp controller. Both can reserved for the same period of time if both are available. The garage can fit one SUV or Stand car for each unit .
However, since this is older house by the ocean, you can hear ocean wave, sometime for laundry nose , upperstair nose or dog nose. In order to make both units comfortable, not use the laundry between 10pm to 8am. Please keep quite between this hours.
Since this is by the ocean, when you check in, you may feel ocean smell, but once you open the window and door, it will gone. Also inside and outside of the house, it may be has some items rushed by ocean braze everyday. Let us know as soon as you found. Again it is not five start hotel for luxury.

This unit 2 is upstair of the house with its own entrance separated from unit 1 downstair.
It consists of one high ceiling, spacious bedroom, a full size bathroom, a half simple kitchen, an office area, a balcony and a large deck.
The full size bathroom has a separate shower and bathtub. The bathtub comes with jacuzzi.
The small kitchen comes with coffer makers, a microwaves, one portable electrical stove. A small freeze and a dishwasher with a BBQ stove in one of the patio.
Two people can work in coast view office area which is separated by a wall.
The balcony has 180 degree view of ocean and coast.
The larger patio above the garage has two burners stoves, BBQ stove with two lay down chairs.
Due to the ocean braze and trees, there are some leaves and flowers fall on patio after cleaning , you need to sweep before you use it.

We were impressed with the listing & it did not disappoint. In fact, I’m not sure the 2nd/back patio was even advertised. Pleasant surprises all around this place, definitely just for a couple.

We stayed in the second floor of the lampshade house in beautiful La Jolla. Great bed, shower and tub - all first rate. Night breeze off the water was soothing and we did not need air conditioning during the day. Windows open and a small fan made it very enjoyable. Sunsets on the balcony are not to be missed. Use of the garage was perfect as this is a busy area to street park - be cautious, we rented a Mini Cooper which fit great, the downstairs group had an Audi A4 which fit, barely - don't expect to park a full size car or larger SUV.

The photos of the balcony do not do this place justice. You are right at the waterfront with a fantastic view from sunrise to sunset. Close to everything. 10 to 15 mins walk to all restaurants. This place is ideal for 2 people. Good for breakfast and lunch but not really suitable to cook a main dinner as only a kitchenette as shown, with a portable hot plate. Good barbecue set up out the back though if you want to book up some steaks. We had dinner out every night so was a perfect set up for us. I would definitely rent this place again! Will be back

I will start with all the bad things first. The parking is t good if you don’t have a tiny car. I have a Jeep Gladiator and it wouldn’t fit in the garage, so I parked in the drive way at night and K got a 75.00 dollar ticket. The house is visibly very, very clean but it does smell. Now this could have been because it hadn’t been opened up in awhile when we got there. It has a huge walk in closet but like 3 hangers. Which pretty much makes the closet useless. Then there is the wierd toilet. It couldn’t be in a worse place in the bathroom and it constantly opens and closes. Absolutely no other complaints inside the house at all..Now if you are a person that likes to sleep in, you can for get that! Trash trucks come down the street at 6am everyday picking up and slamming down cans, back up beepers loud as hell, and because of the awesome location of the house these trucks are about 30’ from your bed! Now that I am done complaining.. My family had ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TIME I have ever had in California in my entire life staying at this home. It is a beautiful space, the house is very clean, the location couldn’t be more perfect if you want to be by the water! The views are impressive to say the least. The online photos make it appear as though the house is sitting high up on a 3 or 400 foot cliff it’s not at all. It’s maybe 50 to 75 feet high. Either way there are ample paths to walk down to the beach. I ran out f space to write. Sorry! Rent it!!!!! It’s well worth it!!!!!

We are very familiar with La Jolla so we knew the location was outstanding when we booked. But the pictures here do not do the charm of this place justice! The description mentions that it's not a 5 star hotel and it's not - but it is definitely a 5 star experience staying here! I could sit on the balcony and people/dog watch all day! We will be back and in fact hope to come with a group and rent both units. Thanks for sharing this amazing place with us!
