We had a wonderful stay! Sibyl (the owner) is so lovely and helpful. We LOVED our time here. It is a gem of a place. Gorgeous views all around and very peaceful.

We had an amazing stay at Casas Pelicano! Sibyl is a very welcoming and helpful host and all together great and interesting person - she even drove us into town to get food and brought us home made cake! The property is paradisic and features a swimming pool overlooking the ocean, with very quick and easy beach access. The guest house we stayed at is very pretty, includes all the amenities you need (even a smoothie mixer), a warm shower, comfortable bed , and is very secure. It has a private veranda with a hammock on it and more lovely views. The beaches are very quiet with not many people at all and great for swimming and surfing and taking long walks. The village is equally quiet, but includes a few good restaurants and a shop as well as a bus connection to Santa Cruz for those travelling without a car. We can highly recommend staying here!

This quaint and charming property is located just steps above a beautiful beach, with stunning views and sunsets.
Like other guests have mentioned in their reviews, there are quite a few insects that are probably normal for Costa Rica but tourists may not be used to.

This is for everyone who wants to experience nature. It's right by the beach, you can hear the waves from the house. The pool is nice and there is loads of wildlife all around. There is a seaturtle hatchery that you can reach by foot where they will sometimes release the baby turtles to the sea (super magical). The host Sybil is very nice and helpful (she even organised transport for us!) & there are wonderful sunsets every evening!
This is not really negative points but just things you should know. The house is situated quite remotely and in nature. 1. There are insects of course because it is a tropical environment. If you're heavily bothered by ants in the house it's probably not for you. 2. You can only really get there by car, if you don't have a car you need to get a driver. Once you're there, the grocery store is ~ 10min walking distance.

The property at Casas Pelicanos is beautiful, overlooking the ocean through tropical trees and bouganvillia. Gorgeous sunsets and the kitchen was very well equipped. The beach is wonderful for walking and playing in the waves.
The mattresses need updating. They were not very comfortable.

excellent private location and easy access to the beach. No crowds and and very spacious rooms with all the kitchen needs you could possibly want.
I signed up for the cooking class experience with the host and it was so personalized and fun and I learned a lot about new techniques and new foods for Costa Rica! Highly recommend it!
so many ants in the room but that’s the tropics!

incredible location right next to the beach. A very relaxing stay and a lovely host

large comfortable cabin with a spacious covered porch. Right on the beach. We listened to the surf all night and watched the sunset over the Pacific from the pool. Our host was fabulous. He even arranged massages for us on our porch and directed us to the best places to eat.
the short road from the main road can be rough.

The garden at the location was amazing. It was only a 1 min walk from the door to the beach.
The bungalow was spacious and the terrace was large. It had a rustic vibe.
Dimitri was very friendly and helpful.
The cleanliness can be improved. The dishes had to be re-washed before use. It seemed that the curtains and the shower head also had not been washed in a while.

Casas Pelicano is situated in the most amazing location, a short walk and you're on an quiet beach (we saw barely anyone the whole time) with incredible views and the most amazing sunsets. The whole coastline looks like it's been Photoshopped in real life it's that stunning.
The accommodation itself was great and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well equipped which was good as there are only a few local restaurants that (depending on the time of year) aren't open too late so we were able to cook for ourselves on days that we got back late.
The veranda out the front is really great for chilling out on. It even has a hammock which got a lot of use!

Sybil is amazing. She Brought us homemade cake that was absolutely delicious. The property is quiet, secluded, romantic and has the most beautiful beach. I wouldn't change anything about the stay.

The view! The coast! We saw whales! The sunset! The owner is helpful!
The road is so rocky. But it's just the last half kilometer. The nearest restaurant and store is 10 minutes driving...

The location was perfect. A 25 minute drive to Tamarindo and tours. Beach front property with very few down there. The bungalow had everything we needed for cooking if we wanted too. Nice pool overlooking the beach. So many beautiful beaches in the area. Not great for swimming as there is a strong undertow. But you can have fun in the waves. Lots of surfers in the area. Restraints are about 10 minute drive. Staff were exceptional. Will definately be coming back if I get back to CR. Would love to spend more time there .
Entrance to the driveway could be improved for cars. 4x4's or higher cars would have no problem

My The villa is gorgeous, inside and out. The shower had pressure, which was amazing!
The grounds are sooooo gorgeous, the pool is absolutely lovely and so clean!
Beach access with only a few stairs, and the beach....oh my goodness, it was UNBEATABLE! HUGE beach that felt so private!
Sybil (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was lovely, and accomodating.
Remember, there are only 2 gorgeous villas plus Sybil's home, so it is very private and relaxing. The hammock on the private deck was so comfy and the perfect height for my short legs to get me in and out!
The mattress wasn't the most comfortable we've slept on, but it was better than most in CR, unless you're at a big boutique hotel.

This place was very nice with nice sunset view from poim and garden. We had no car rented, so we walked very much. The place was very calm and nearest shop was about 1,5 km,but it was not bad. You need taxi to move from Santa Cruz so this will not suit for people only using public transport. Nice place.
Breakfast was not encluded in the price

The location and the surronding is amazing. The house is cute.
The lady running the place is a very nice person and she was kind enough to understand our disapoinment and that we left after the first night, even if we had booked the place for two days.
The house is not very clean and there is a big problem with ants. We spend the first night killing a huge plague of ants in our room. It was disgusting. This experience ruined our stay there.
The price is a big high compared to other places we were in Costa Rica.

The location is stunning! It’s the most beautiful place and magical beach. It’s located just a few feet away from the surf. The vegetation on the property is beautiful.
It’s the perfect place to enjoy paradise and get away to relax and enjoy nature to its fullest.
Sybyll, the landlord, is welcoming , sweet super host who speaks German and a great chef you you needed an advice or recipe on local dishes and a quick cooking class.
If you want to just chill and get the full authentic Costa Rica experience then this is the play you should go visit!
