About this cabin rental
We are excited to welcome you to Estes Park, our little piece of paradise. We hope to provide you with an exceptional vacation experience.
This unique rental has two separate cabins on one property, each with one bedroom, one bath, and living area. The larger "Smiling Elk" has a full modern kitchen with a wonderful gas stove, full bath, queen bed, sleeper sofa, washer/dryer, and a wood-burning fireplace. Free high-speed broadband internet. Use your own streaming apps. We provide all linens, towels, a stocked kitchen, and toiletries. The kitchen includes coffee, tea, paper goods, and all the dishes and cooking equipment you may need. There is also a crock pot so you can have dinner ready and waiting when you return from the day's activities. The photo of this cabin can be deceiving. The door on the left is the bedroom, and the door on the right is the living room. The bedroom is accessed from inside, and the exterior door is rarely used. In the past, this cabin may have been two units. During the warm months, we install a window air conditioner in the living room, and there is always a ceiling fan in the bedroom.
The smaller and adorable "Little Bear" has a partial kitchen (sink, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker), 3/4 bath with tiled shower, two twin beds, and a sleeper sofa. This cabin also has a flat-screen TV and free high-speed broadband internet.
This property is ideal for couples, friends, or small families. It is situated near the west side of town, with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park, yet only three miles from downtown. Several restaurants, coffee shops, miniature golf, and groceries are within walking distance. A free shuttle to downtown stops nearby every hour, so you could leave the driving to others and just enjoy the ride.
Enjoy a backyard BBQ on the gas grill, or visit nearby local's favorite Smokin' Dave's BBQ. Coffee on the Rocks is open early if you prefer to have your coffee prepared for you. All of these are just down the street and around the corner. Country Market has groceries, gas, and great ice cream. The well-known Bird & Jim restaurant is a short drive or walk, accessible without navigating the downtown traffic.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the Estes Park area and Rocky Mountain National Park, including local favorites, day hike suggestions, etc. Just give us a call before or during your stay. We want your vacation to be full of good memories, and will do what we can do to make that happen.
Please plan to bring your own reusable water bottles. Estes Park has award-winning water, and we hope you'll enjoy it's freshness. In an effort to be environmentally friendly, we discourage you from purchasing water in single-use plastic bottles.
If these cabins aren't available the dates you desire, please check out our other property that's right downtown - VRBO # 471009 - Riverwalk Loft Condos.
We look forward to being your hosts in Estes Park!

We loved staying in these beautiful cabins for the week! The proximity to the park was key as we were able to quickly start our morning hikes or see sunrise and sunset and take an afternoon nap to recharge when needed. It was about 10 minutes to get through the park entrance and the Bear Lake timed entry check point, without traffic. The beds were comfortable and the cabins well stocked with everything we needed. Our daughter was able to take advantage of the trolley stop close by one day after shopping in Estes. The owners quickly responded to any questions we had leading up to our trip.

My partner and I were in Estes Park for the hiking mostly. This cabin was perfect for our needs. It was a great place to recharge after a long day on the trails. We appreciated the A/C in this cabin as it was very hot for the first part of our stay. We also appreciated the location as it is close to the park and to downtown.
Scott and Karen were excellent hosts. SUPER communicative and gave us lots of recommendations for places to eat and how to avoid the construction downtown. Five stars. Would definitely stay again!

Our family loved staying in these cabins. We have older children and they thought it was so fun to be able to stay in a separate cabin from the grown ups. It was close to RMNP and conveniently located to a small market and an incredibly delicious deli/bakery called "Scratch."
We also saw plenty of nature (little rabbits, birds, and elk) in the yard as well. The owners were super responsive when we had questions, though most things were self-explanatory. They had huge washers and dryers in the very spacious bathroom in the main cabin.
What a great bonus after hiking at RMNP! The owners also stock with essentials like laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even makeup remover.
The only caveat I would give to these cabins is that the main cabin has a fairly small kitchen that is well stocked with dishes and utensils, but had only a small and pretty damaged collection of pots, trays, etc.. We were able to do some minimal cooking, but not the way we are used to with most VRBOS we stay at. If you are planning on doing a lot of indoor cooking, this may not be the place for you. For everyone else, I'd highly recommend staying here.

We loved the cabins! Far above our expectations. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed. In the afternoon 7or 8 grazed and lounged in the yard next door. We will defiantly stay again and recommend them a to everyone! The hosts were great and responsive.

It was a wonderful stay in a very cozy cabin. Was exciting to see so much wildlife activity so close to the cabin. Very memorable experince for me and my family.

This was our second stay here, and it was excellent both times. The location could not be better for spending time in RMNP. The cabins are in a quiet location and are in great shape. We’ve had turkeys, deer and elk in the yard. The hosts are very friendly and unfailingly helpful. We will be back!

We visited Estes Park with our two college age kids. Having two cabins was great for each of us to have our own space. The cabins were super clean, the beds comfortable, and The Smiling Elk was well stocked. We loved the location-close to the main park entrance and restaurants/grocery store without having to go into Downtown, but also close to downtown when needed. We had a minor issue of a smoke detector needing a battery change, and the owners took care of it right away. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Plenty of room to spread out of you have family traveling with you. Nice to have washer/dryer in house. We’ll-stocked pantry for spices and such. All bathroom necessities provided. Great location.

We loved these cabins. They were clean, gave everyone the space they needed, and were perfectly located in Estes Park and near Rocky Mountain National Park. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family trip of 5 with 3 teenagers who really enjoyed having two cabins. The location of the cabins and responsiveness of the owners was great. We have been to Estes Park 15 separate times in the summer, having A/C for this trip made it very comfortable. Both cabins are well supplied with appliances, kitchen supplies and toiletries. Rooms were clean and well stocked with linens. The sleeper sofa in the main cabin was very comfortable. Enjoyed the wildlife on the property and the wildlife passing through. Outside was quiet and easy to enjoy.

We had a great time exploring Estes Park and these little cabins were so close to everything. My teenagers loved having a little of their own space in the evenings. The owners of these cabins have provided so much, we never didn’t have something we needed. My only suggestion is the mattresses could be updated to something more comfortable.

Nice, large room with plenty of space. Much appreciated the washer and dryer! Not in the heart of town, but still quiet and close to things.

The location of the cabin is great! We found that we tried to stay as much as possible on the same side of town and avoided the busy downtown. Perfect access to RMNP and many restaurants as well. The cabin was extremely clean and welcoming. The owners are great at communicating and taking any feedback and implementing that feedback right away.

My sister, cousin and I loved our stay at the Little Bear cabins while we explored Rocky Mountain National Park and the Estes Park area. We especially liked the full kitchen, as we were able to cook together after a day of hiking and exploring. The cabins were quiet and the wifi worked well. Hope to stay again in the future!

Cabin was clean but lacking window coverings on door on both cabins. We were two single gals staying alone in each cabin. Made it a bit uncomfortable going to the potty at night. Cabin was well supplied and convenient to town, just not much of a view.
They ask us to text when we were leaving, we did and also messaged on the app. No response, none.

Clean as a pin, cozy and perfect! Beautiful location and great accommodations. Wildlife everywhere!

Me and my family really enjoyed staying at this cabin We'll come back for sure.

We really enjoyed our stay. The teens enjoyed having their own little cabin and staying up late to play games. My husband and I enjoyed the privacy of having our own cabin. Everything was so clean which is extremely important to me. The location was perfect for getting to both Estes park in town and the RMNP. We would definitely stay again.

Very clean and nice cabins, and the location is just a short drive to downtown Estes Park!

The perfect place for our 4 night stay to hike in the Rockies. So close to the entrance to RMNP and still so quiet. Very well equipped for a small cabin. The bed in the main cabin was extremely comfortable. We cooked all meals in the cabin and had everything we needed. The smaller cabin was perfect for our two adult sons who came up from Denver for a night to hike with us. We were surprised to find plush towels and ample parking . Out last night there we were lucky to have a beautiful buck in the front yard . Would definitely stay here again

This was our second stay during Elk Fest weekend, and we had a great time. The cabins are clean and well stocked, and they're also super cozy and relaxing. We loved having room spread out a bit. Karen is a lovely host and we hope to come back soon! Thank you for having us.

We enjoyed this location for everything we did in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National park.

I was very impressed with the accommodations. Check in went very smoothly, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and cooking utensils and the washer/dryer are huge! Also had numerous amenities we didn't even expect such as laundry detergent and various spices in the kitchen. We stayed in a condo last time we visited, but this place was much nicer.

We rented both Smiling Elk and Little Bear cabins for our family trip to Estes Park and RMNP. They worked great. Quick drive into both the park and town. Very clean. Had everything we needed. Only downside was that we could not open the windows to enjoy the beautiful Colorado air.

I honestly cannot think of one bad thing to say. We had a great experience!
The owners were responsive to our questions. The places were neat , clean and exactly what my wife and three grown children needed. Proximity to RMNP and downtown Estes, along with the exceptional mountain views, made this the perfect place to rest after a long day of hiking the park. Very grateful to have found this gem.

Vintage Estes Park
These two little cabins, for one price, are classic Estes Park rentals. With throw back character, yet very well equipped to meet all needs, we found the cabins to be perfect!

Well equipped cabins that make cooking in the cabin possible after a long day of hiking. Proximity to RMNP entrance can't be beat. Owners are great at communicating with renters.

Our family had a wonderful vacation week staying in the 2 cabins. Our older teens loved the smaller cabin and we enjoyed most of our meals together in the larger cabin. Two for one! 😊 The owners are quick to respond and have stocked up many essential items for your use. The laundry facilities were especially helpful for us after hiking. The location was ideal... close to the Rocky Mountain National State Park and to downtown Estes Park. The mule deer also liked to hang out in the yard. Highly recommend! 🌟

Our family really enjoyed staying in the cabins for our little Easter weekend getaway. Everything was perfect and as described in the listing. There were 5 of us, so my daughter and her boyfriend took the Little Bear cabin while myself and my two sons, 12 and 13 had the Smiling Elk cabin. Just outside on the grounds we saw wild turkey, a hawk, elk, and deer…it was absolutely amazing. It was just the right amount of space for my family and will definitely be back again.

My 18 year old son and I wanted to make this trip for hiking, photography and relaxation purposes. The Elk and Little Bear cabins were awesome! We both loved the accommodations! Only complaint would be that I didn’t understand that both cabins were ours for the stay. But it wasn’t a big deal. Thanks for the stay!!
