Perfectly relaxing.

Villa/lodge was immaculate, fully equipped and in a good location

Beautiful surroundings, over looking at the wine yard. at the hill top pictures view at the sea and river . Comfortable and clean chalets

super limited services , facilities ( breakfast , lunch , dinner option) no wine tasting unless you book. would have been nice to have a few bottle to taste at the chalet . restaurant only opens on certain days and time . No kids facilities .

The location was lovely. The lodge was fully equipped with everything we needed. Unfortunately, the toilet seat broke, but staff replaced it within a couple of hours.

The outside of our lodge, could be done up a bit, as it is advertised as Luxury. Shed looked past its best...and seating area, not that inviting. Bathroom window would not open and bath when taking shower kept filling up, not nice...but did not ruin holiday. Also the entrance to the Lodges do not look too good, know it is a vineyard, but a wedding was happening just before we left, and not a nice sight on way down to lodges with crated bottles and bins...do not know how that could be rectified. Second room, small one, is small and not a lot of space for two people to put clothes as no drawers.

spoilt stay

we have stayed here before it’s a lovely location and close to our friends and all our favourite places to visit. also you can take the dogs too which is a bonus.

On arrival we arrived to self check in as we did previously but this time we had issues as the code provided was not correct. given time of arrival we couldn’t get hold of anyone. given we had stayed before we had the previous code and was able to work out the new code but took some time and doing this late at night wasn’t ideal. Also to add insult to injury the lodge wasn’t cleaned properly and as a result there was broken glass left by previous guests. unfortunately we found out the hard way with my wife getting a chunk of glass lodged in her foot. as a result we cut our stay short by two days.

Our stay at the vineyard

It is in a lovely location, in a very lovely village, very clean and comfortable. Everything you need is provided.

The shower in the bath. The bath was quite narrow, high sided and very slippy. My brother slipped and was lucky not to have hurt himself.

Our family hired all the lodges & it was perfect for us. We could mix together & still have our own space. Lodges were spacious and clean. The cleaning pack & drinks tray are a nice touch.

The lodges at Old Walls were all very comfortable and came with everything we needed. The views across the yineyard and surrounding hills were amazing. The staff were lovely.

A windy drive up through the narrow streets of the town but nothing we aren't used to in Devon.

It was great to catch up with our old friends and the location fitted the bill in that regard.

The breakfast was not included in the price of the room which was a shame, and unfortunately the cafe on site did not open until 9.30 which is a little late.

Perhaps a complimentary bottle of wine would enticed us to purchase a ‘case’ of wine from the vineyard. There were not enough coffee pods - little details like that could take it up so many notches!

A really comfortable and relaxing stay.

Our cabin was located opposite the vines and waking up to sunshine above them was delightful. it was centrally located for the area of Dorsey and Devin we wanted to explore.

Well equipped lodges, the layout and furnishings etc are very well thought through with everything that would be needed and very private. Amazing location with views of the vineyard, incredible views from the top of the vineyard hills but a tough walk up! Tapas on a Friday night is a definite recommendation, as is the Old Walls wine! We enjoyed our stay and will be coming back again

Wonderful staff, who really cared that you had a great time. Lodges very clean, comfortable, with a great vista. Fantastic field for dogs to exercise. Great food at the vineyard. Lovely local pubs with good food. Close to the sea. Couldn’t have asked for more.

There were no negatives for us.

Superb

Wonderful location. Beautiful scenery and very peaceful. Very clean and welcoming, not cramped like some lodges. Ample parking next to lodge Ate at the Bistro on site and great service and food

Very minor updating of dining table needed. Otherwise cannot be faulted
