Great value and location for everything you could want in a B&B.

They had a terrific breakfast that fit my diet, delicious and nutritious. The facility is beautiful, all sorts of bird motifs as the name indicates. The room I had was spacious, clean, organized, well stocked, everything. The service and care were exceptional, treating me like I was one of their children, so kind, helpful and compassionate.

The neighborhood could be a little noisy based on the celebrations for the time of year, but that is a nitpick. Entry and exit could be a little tricky at times with the door mechanism.

Mindo loveliness

the rooms we occupied in the newer part above the front desk were filled with windows and one had a balcony. loved the indoor-outdoor layout of the dining area and used the common kitchen there a little. sat at the edge overlooking the river and did some birdwatching. just lovely. oh yes, super well-lighted rooms with many outlets. we would recommend the coffee tour next door.

the only little thing was that our trash was never emptied on a 3-night stay.

This hostal is a gem. The staff was so helpful..we arrived with large and heavy bags and were given new rooms on the ground floor.. the management booked taxis for us with known drivers so we felt secure and comfortable. There is a nice outside area patio on upper level.

It is totally perfect.. safe..warm.. good location.. Nice breakfast..knowledgable host.

Gracious simple spotless and perfect

Elena the proprietor wa gracious welcoming and goes above and beyond to be kind helpful and generous. I was ill my first day and she took care of me like a kind mother! Also Alejandra and Roberto were very helpful gracious and great hosts

Just great

The accomodation is really nice, calm and cosy, restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The room was spacious,very proper and comfortable, the shower warm. Elena is such a kind, caring and helpful host. She let us feel like being home during our whole stay. She prepared a really fresh and tasty breakfast every day. We could recommend to everybody to stay at the Bird Garden Guest House and we would come back anytime.

Perspective- And authentic, locally owned and operated facility.

Elena was a consummate hostess. Warm and caring, she received us like family. Even though we could not speak the same language, she adroitly used Google translator To communicate the more difficult things. Otherwise we got along just fine with charades and laughter. Her breakfasts were delicious

If you’re looking for authentic, part of that includes lukewarm showers. Honestly however it was part of the fun to see how quickly I could shower. LOL She makes up for it however with a very reasonable room rate per night.

I will repeat my stay here

Property is clean and confortable. Well located. It was easy to find places to eat and nice to walk around. Elena, the owner, is probably the best to like about the property. She is caring and make you feel like home. Attentive and polite. I would always look for this place when I’m passing through Quito from now on.

There are nothing really I could point out that I dislike. As recommendation however, I would say that it needs to be considered that not everyone consumes sugar.

Peace and tranquility in busy Quito

I was looking for a quiet and comfortable place and it is what I got (5 rooms altogether I think, so very intimate) Quito comes with so much choice in terms of accommodation, it was hard to choose. But if your main concern is silence and tranquillity, here is the place to stop. Roberto, the owner, has a very good command in English, plus he is very nice and knowledgable. 7' walk from Quito trole C4 that will take you downtown in 15' 3' from a super place to have diner : Incontro, an Italian eatery 3' from Plaza Foch where you may find night life and restaurants. Roberto will manage your laundry on site. Breakfast is optional (from 8 till 10) so don't have to pay for it if you're out early ! In-room Wifi that works well (make sure to choose the right network depending on what floor you're staying) So, well, clean, cosy, quiet and peaceful atmosphere... A very nice experience : Thank you Roberto !

Do not clean the towels if I hang the towels !!! But that's a world round issue. Everywhere, they ask you to hang the towel to save the planet. You do hang the towel, but as everywhere else, they take and wash your towel... A reading light by the bed would be a plus.
