The staff, the character, the room were all superb.
There was nothing we didn’t like

Mario and Blanca were exceptional hosts! They were probably the kindest hotel owners I've encountered in all my Latin American travels. I had such a lovely stay at their location. They were kind enough to let me try conversing with them in Spanish and they provided excellent suggestions to everything I inquired about (restaurants, where to buy un sombrero de paja toquilla or an authentic "Panama hat", getting to the market, etc.). The breakfast was excellent and the bed was SO comfortable, I slept like a rock! The room was plenty big and the shower was a dream - wonderfully hot water AND water pressure! Spotlessly clean. Lots of charm to the decor of the hotel. Mario has a cab driver he uses regularly and he was also very kind and informative. The hotel is very close to the main plaza in the historic center. I have every intention of returning next year and there is no question I will stay here again. I can't wait to see them again!
Absolutely nothing!

This place was just lovely!

Mario and Blanca were excellent hosts - hospitality and warmth were second to none. It was a sanctuary from the busy old town. We had a beautifully appointed room. The whole place was spotless and tastefully decorated. Susanna and Daniel were also very welcoming and helpful. The daily breakfast was fabulous and set us up for the day. Recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants were spot on. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.
Nothing it was an amazing place to stay. The rooftop garden was a bonus.

We just arrived at Quito before our flight to Galapagos and are staying at the gorgeous Casa El Eden. Just dropping by here to gush about what an amazing place this is, and to recommend this place if you are planning your Galapagos trip and have a stop in Quito. 😊
Both my partner and I travel tons and we both agreed this is possibly the most charming and best place we’ve stayed in. We are so in love with this place. 😍
Location is great and super central, we’ve been able to walk to most places we want to. It also feels safe in this area.
Every corner feels very homely, thoughtfully and classily designed and extremely clean. (To the point where I’m walking around the hotel barefooted 😄)
The owners Mario and Blanca are also the most thoughtful, kind and generous hosts we’ve ever had, and we really can’t stop singing praises about them.
And did I mention that they have a roof top terrace with a great view? 😍
Literally nothing. It feels rather safe around the area during the day but I’d still advise taking a cab in the evening everywhere.

Mario and Blanca were delightful and made us feel very special. Rooftop patio has incredible views.
Breakfast was amazing...delicious coffee, made to order eggs, fresh fruit, fresh juice.!

beautiful small boutique family-run hotel. The owners Blanca, Mario and their son Daniel were fantastic and carrying hosts. The room we stayed at was spacious, beautifully furnished and comfortable with a separate bathroom with a bathtub. The location is perfect for exploring the Old Town - walking distance to all the major sights, landmarks and restaurants. After a day of exploring Quito and surroundings, we had a glass of wine from Mario’s private cellar on the rooftop with the stunning views of the city. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend Casa El Eden and would stay here again in the future!

Great place to stay in Quito! Mario was an incredibly welcoming and caring host. We felt like home in his beautiful house. If I ever in Quito again I’ll stay only there.

Mario, Blanca and Daniel are likely the best and most caring team we have ever met. Can’t underline how much both place, atmosphere, design, comfort, cleanness, history, big rooms and giant bathrooms, central location makes this 10/10/10/10 all over. It sounds too good to be true, but in this exact case, it actually is just that really good. thank you for making the end of our journey so joyful from Albanas.

The rooms are beautifully designed, as is the house. The owners are the kindest, most welcoming and sincerely friendly people you could hope to meet. We were made to feel immediately at home.
We are quite independent travellers, yet the owners pulled out all the stops to ensure we were looked after and had all the information we needed about the city. It's a gem!

Mario and Blanca are beautiful people who do everything they can to help you and make the most of your stay. Mario gave us excellent tips on what to do, where to go and where to eat. And the breakfasts were delicious. We are looking forward to returning to them twice more during our stay, between or trips outside of Quito. This hotel is a real treasure!

Mario and Blanca's casa is amazing and they feel like family from the moment you arrive, always available to help and answer questions.
The rooms themselves are incredibly comfortable, I slept so well during my stay there.
The location is very central to the historic centre, a busy area, but felt as safe as any large city downtown area would.
I loved it all. The shower was open to the room which in my case which was fine as a solo traveller but something others may need to consider when picking a room and requiring privacy.

A last minute booking in a gorgeous building with helpful and accommodating staff that went the extra mile for us as we had to change our plans. So comfortable as we acclimated to Quito. Restaurant recommendations were an extra awesome touch.

Such a wonderful place to stay - beautifully restored historic home in the old section of Quito. Each room is individually and lovingly decorated. Wonderful rooftop sitting area where we watched the lights of Quito. But as others have said, the real magic is from Mario and Blanca the owners. We arrived on Christmas night - exhausted, starving, bedraggled and with no clean laundry, and within a few minutes they’d miraculously fixed all our needs with a smile - even getting our laundry done before we left early the next morning! We could not be more grateful for the amazing service and wonderful place to stay. Your home away from home in Quito.

The owners of Casa El Eden (Mario and Blanca) were amazing - we stayed there for 5 nights in total, with other places in between - and they were so welcoming and treated us like family every time we came back!
They couldn't do enough to help us find taxis, restaurants etc and let us store luggage there for a couple of days when we visited other places
Breakfast was very good and the room was large and very comfortable.
If you are travelling with friends the only problem is that the bathroom and shower are not separate to the room - we did however find a screen that we used to get some privacy.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, they made us feel at home. The room was huge and beautifully decorated. The hotel is a haven of peace in the historical center of Quito. Breakfast was delicious and made with great care, they even got gluten free bread for us! Finally, the recommended a great free walking tour of the area. Gracias Mario y Blanca!
