Great location in the historic Centre of Quito. Lovely house with attention to every single detail. Very atmospheric. Sunset from the rooftop terrace as well as breakfast overlooking roofs of Quito is remarkable experience.

Very welcoming. Owner and staff were all very kind and helpful. Super colonial style hotel within easy walking distance of the old centre of Quito.
All was great - shower took a few minutes to get warm but was great once it started!

Historic building, nicely renovated, nice staff, nice bfast view.
My room was facing the corridor, and neighbors were a bit noisy.

Beautiful hotel, nice old-colonial atmosphere. The location with respect to the most interesting places in the historic part of Quito is good. Staff was very friendly. Our room was spacious and pleasant (except for the noise).
Our room was on the street side of the hotel. This was oncomfortabele and disturbed our rest and sleep because of the noise, especially in the evening and night, caused by traffic and people in the street . For this very reason we would not book this hotel again.
Breakfast was OK but certainly not abundant. Remarkable was the tiny amount of bread, we repeatedly had to ask for somewhat more. The juices were delicious just as the ommelettes.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to travel to Quito. Isaiyas, who took us on our trips outside of Quito was very knowledgeable and it was a great experience for our family to travel with him. Thanks for also helping with airport drop offs. The key was very helpful so we could buzz ourselves in and not have to wait out on the street. Help with laundry was an additional benefit. Wonderful stay, highly recommend :)
Even though breakfast was included, it was hard to find vegan/vegetarian options. Perhaps the breakfast options can be a little more expanded.

Everyone who works there is so welcoming and helpful. They answered all our questions, gave good advice about Quito including more off the beaten path things to do, and helped us get to the airport at 4 am. Breakfast was excellent. Location was great, less than a block from the trole line and la Ronda, 5-minute walk from the central plaza.
I had to work while staying there and the WiFi wasn’t super reliable for working. It would be fine for normal travel WiFi needs though.

The host was amazing, the facilities were incredible, and the location was perfect in the heart of Old Town Quito! I can't recommend this place enough. 10/10 in every category.

Beautiful building, attentive staff (when they were around), and a lovely including breakfast. Location was ideal for the historic centre.
Extremely noisy and the rooms have windows into the courtyard which has automatic lights so you get woken up all night when people come in and out. Also, it takes about 5 minutes for the shower to get ‘warm’ if at all. The bed and bathroom both had other peoples’ hairs in them.

Room was big, clean, and pretty. The property in general was beautiful and interesting. Particularly, the included breakfast was great and the third floor where you eat it has an excellent view. Host was friendly and helpful.
The only challenge was that taxis and uber sometimes had a tough time getting to the hotel.

This place is a hidden gem right in the heart of the city. The space in the room is good for families. We stayed here for 4 nights with our 2 kids (2 yr and 4 yr old). The room was big enough with amazing views right from our window. The breakfast area has the clear view of Penecillo.
The views and the spacious rooms

The breakfast was very delicious and the staff very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The hotel is rather quirky, but tasteful and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. All in all, Casa Alquimia is a little Oasis in the middle of the historic centre. We could not have chosen a better place to stay.

Great location as a base for staying in Quito, walking distance to the key sights in the old town and surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants. Interior of the hotel was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious!
The only minor issue we had was that the hot water was a bit temperamental - no hot water one morning. It sorted itself out by the evening before we had chance to report it though!

Sylvana and her sons are gracious hosts. This is our second stay. A charming facility with a great location. The absolute most comfortable bed that I have ever slept in. Breakfast is excellent, hosts could not be more accommodating. We had a 4:00am airport taxi
And Sylvana’s son woke up to take out our bags. Very sleepily however. New street side windows all but eliminated street noise. One of my favorite spots. Old world charm. We will be back. Thanks for another great stay.

We loved this family run hotel right in colonial center of town. Silvana is a wonderful host and she has done a tremendous job renovating this really old building- it is charming and cozy. The breakfast was delicious and she went out of her way to make something special for me as I am vegan. Their homemade tea was so good!!! She gave us great recommendations for dining and tourist attractions. The other personnel in the hotel were very attentive and helpful. Beautiful rooms, beautiful common area, great views from breakfast area. Highly recommend!!
It seemed like a very safe area to us, but we were warned to be careful.

loved the old Spanish colonial hacienda style home. loved all the antique collectibles displayed beautifully throughout the hotel. loved that breakfast was on the roof with a beautiful view of the Virgin of the Panacella and the surrounding hills. The owner, Silvana, is very sweet and accommodating and let us stay past the checkout time the day we were leaving, which we really appreciated. The internet was great and we had plenty of hot water for our showers. I would definitely stay here again!
We had 2 beds in our room. One was comfortable and the other was very hard, uncomfortable and very squeaky. The towels were very thin and there was never enough toilet paper since the rolls are small and one has to use a lot because they are very thin. Breakfast was delicious - eggs, fruit, bread, juice, coffee - but I think they should have a bit more variety on different days as it was the same every day.
For those paying at the hotel with a credit card, please be aware that the hotel charges an extra 8% fee. We found that excessive. Also, please note that no one at the hotel speaks English.

It was a historic property in a nice location.
The manager tried to shake me down to get extra credit card fees. I refused to pay them.
4.5 / 5.0
Breakfast was amazing, location, decorations, clean room, helpful staff.
It was a little bit cold in the room, if we wanted to pay by card, the price would be higher. The hotel recommends tours with private drivers, we did 2. The first trip was amazing, but the next one was with a young driver who drove very fast and not considerate to other people in the car.
