Great helpful staff. It’s remote - perfect if you like that (we did). Great horse riding. Very helpful in organising transfers.
Electricity can go, but that’s part of being in a remote area. Wi-fi was hit and miss. The path up is rocky, so needs a 4x4 if driving.

We had an amazing stay at Finca Montania Sagrada. Our hosts were amazing, and the farm was beyond beautiful.
Hari took our kids for a little horseriding, my son can not stop planning our next trip to Ometepe eversince. (If you are planning a horse trip, make sure to bring long pants!)
The finca is a bit further up from the road but not more than 5-10 minutes by foot, no problem to walk up from there if you do not arrive by a 4x4.

so beautiful, the staff were awesome, breakfast was amazing, our cabana was super clean, comfy & beautiful.
the road to get up isn’t very accessible unless you walk. with all of our gear it was still quite difficult.

This Finca has a relaxing atmosphere for anyone wanting to be off the grid and amongst beautiful scenery. The owners are particularly accommodating to your needs/goals.

Hari is so amazing with his horses, and he cares about each and every one of them as if they were his children. He made me feel safe and comfortable to let my two kids (9 and 11) have their first real trail-riding experience; under Hari's guidance the kids went from being hesitant about trotting to loving the full-on gallop! The horses are well trained, happy and have a lot of energy -- unlike a lot of trail horses that follow the horse in front of them at a snail's pace. Staying at the finca was convenient since we wanted to ride two days in a row. The guest houses are nice and spacious, the staff is nice, the dogs and cats and friendly and sweet.
As recognized by the owners, the finca is very hard to get to. The access road between the finca and the main road has completely washed away, and looks more like a rocky riverbed. The alternative path is ok for walking, but gets very muddy and slippery when it rains. It was also a bit lonely, with no other guests there -- but we solved this by going for dinner and some socializing at a nearby hotel, which also had a nice hilltop pool that we were welcome to use. Also, potential guests should be aware that there are a lot of insects and critters at the finca, since it's in the middle of the jungle (but rest assured, the scorpions are not poisonous!).

Very beautiful setting away from it all. The European owners have eyes for detail and are very friendly. Our kids (4+6) loved being there especially for the horse riding that was offered, the small dogs also are very cute. Breakfast is excellent with fresh juice, fruits as well as home made bread. We were travelling with local bus and yes - it takes a while to get there from Moyogalpa harbour (2,5 hrs), but there are like 2 direct buses a day. Alternatively you can arrange for taxis (30 usd, 1hr). Worthwhile especially if you stay 3+ nights. Canoos to the Río can be Rented closeby.
A fridge in the room as well mosquito net for the extra bed would have made this stay prefect, but that are only smaller points.

Bed was fabulous. Large and comfortable. Room spacious enough with private balcony, deck chairs and hammock. Nice!!
No hot water in our unit. Luckily if you shower during the day it's hot out so all good. Not nice for washing hair at night.
Road is not accessible unless you drive 4x4.

Very quiet and chill part of the island, nice secluded beach spots nearby, and great access to activities such as kayaking and hiking. We didn't ride horses-the main activity on offer here, but we could watch the horse corral in the morning while eating breakfast (delicious) with volcano and lake views as well. A comfortable hideaway with lovely flowers, breezes, birds, and butterflies. The room is large and clean with personal veranda and prime hammock spot. Feels far away from it all, but only a short walk into town of Merida.
Can be tricky to get to/from if you are expecting to get around by bus, but possible.

Hari is a fantastic host. This place is a small piece of heaven for those who want to enjoy nature and this beautiful country. The people are fantastic. Our overall experience was awesome. Strongly recommended.
Too many dogs on site, considering we are not a pet friendly family, we found it bit a iffy, no major issue though.
The internet in our cabin was not working, considering how remote this place is, wifi is a must.
