A lovely stay in a beautiful, historic Inn.

Perfect for a night in Rye

The location is excellent and the staff were friendly and happy. The room was very nicely appointed, the bed very comfortable and a nice bath. The highlight was the breakfast, which was tremendous. Delicious produce, well prepared and served with a smile.

The coffee wasn’t great.

A perfect place for a short break.

Great location, small but very cozy room with lots of character. Above all amazing staff, excellent service throughout our stay.

The toilet seat was broken, loose, hardly attached to the toilet. Also, the shampoo and body wash dispenser in the bathroom was empty.

Excellent hotel for the end of our walk from Pevendey on the 1066 route

Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Staff we’re very helpful Location was perfect

Good selection of food for breakfast.

Room allocated was at top of house and only entered by an extremely steep narrow and winding staircase. Room was cold on first night due to central heating failure, but no alternative means of heating was offered. Bathroom very quirky with sloping ceilings which made use of wash basin and bath difficult, but the facilities had very hot water .

Beautiful building, relaxed pub, great food.

Loved the historic building , the decor, the staff and the food.

It wasn’t quite warm enough. I asked for additional blankets and was given an extra sheet! We were there on a very cold January wknd and the room did warm up at times. Our room was a little small too.

Cozy and Comfortable. Rustic Pub Style with Amazing Food and Beer!

The Standard Inn is a great pub in Rye. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. I loved the rustic pub decor. The Pub is known for its great beer and delicious food. Be sure to reserve a table for dinner as its usually full. The included Breakdown was great. Would highly recommend!

Exactly what was expected , great staff and lovely food.

The staff were particularly friendly and attentive . The location is excellent. We asked if we could leave luggage at hotel pre booking in , the answer was “ yes of course “ , and was stored for us in a secure cupboard.

Great would recommend to friends to go & stay

The room was amazing with it being an old building the floors are running at all sorts of angle. Very friendly staff from the moment we walked through the door. Food was great in the evening & the breakfast.

It wasn't a problem for us but if you want an early night or lay in late don't book a room over the bar. We had read this before we went so were not affected by it. Just remember this is an old building & impossible to sound proof with out ruining the feel & asthetics.

Lovely old inn in historic Rye, with fabulous staff who couldn’t do enough to help.

Well located in the heart of historic Rye, comfortable room, lovely breakfast and fantastic staff.

Noise travelled through the ancient building from the bar, but as it closed pretty early it wasn’t of much concern.

Lovely venue to celebrate a wedding anniversary, cosy rooms, nice food and great central location.

Liked the quirky rooms - it is a 15th Century building so you get the feel of an old building but with the comforts of modern living.

Nice and lovely

Location is perfect, a short walk from the train station and in the center of Rye. The bedroom was lovely, big and clean and the pub had really nice food and drinks. I do recommend it.
