well cared-for hostel with a nice feeling, friendly helpful people
4.3
La ubicación es muy buena, me agrado mucho el lugar y su distribución
Si bien es un hostal, los Baños carecían de jabón para duchas; por lo general en otros hostales he podido observar que prestan este servicio!

Alles war prima, kreativ, freundlich.

The property was safe and in a good area. It’s perfect for young backpackers looking for economical lodgings. It has a great vibe and the people working/volunteering are really kind and helpful.
4.3
Locally owned hostel with friendly cats
The smoking area isn't far enough away from the common area or dorms, so if someone is smoking there is no escape from it.
4.3
I loved the garden outside, I was chilling in the amaca every night in complete silence. The staff was really nice and helpful. Really clean.
Wifi didn't work in the kitchen area and not really well in the room.
4.3

This hostel is super cute and friendly. A lovely, chill hostel with welcoming staff and respectful guests. The communal facilities are great, especially the rooftop and central courtyard. We had a private room and it was a great size. Its a beautiful building and in a great location
The beds in our room weren't super comfortable- you could feel the springs through them

i liked this hostel a lot! Carlos was super friendly and helpful. although the atmosphere in the hostel is really nice and peaceful. it is really good located, just a short walk in the city center, but in the hostel you don't hear any traffic noise.
the beds have seen better days, they are quite shaky and the mattress are not the bests (but could be worse). would still definitly recommend going there!

I loved Luz de Luna Nuyoo and the staff so much, I came back to stay a week, rest up and catch up with some things I had to do. As well as enjoying the lovely atmosphere. Thankyou!

Great staff, nice patio to chill, good location
Poor shower infrastructure, one bathroom had broken lock, not so clean.
Also have cats on the premise which is nice unless you're allergic.

Very nice and calm stay! Amazing central location. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm and it was spaceful and clean. The atmosphere is calm and respectful.
It was a nice stay!

Nice place. Loved the turtle pond and garden. Very quiet. Not a party hostel.
No real complaints.

Great for our family of 4. Our kids are 1 and 3 and it was a perfect accommodation for us.
The cats, turtles, kitchen, private family room with our own toilet and sink, location. it was also nice and quiet at night

The court yard
Not enough toilets

The Location its the best! The hospitality amazing, clean place, amazing people staying at the hostel and meet good friends.
The door of the bedroom doesn't closes properly.

I booked for 2 weeks over X-mas/New Year then decided to go to Spanish school and ended up staying another month!
Close to most things, calm courtyard complete with turtles, 2 friendly cats, a well equipped kitchen with a table to sit around and chat and a roof terrace.
Carlos is great with help and recommendations.
Luz works very hard keeping the hostel clean, and dorm is steam cleaned everyday.
Nice group of people staying here from the odd family group to solo travellers and couples

good value, while within walkable distance to city’s main square.
Enjoyable common areas.

Great laid back and relaxing vibe. Location was excellent - could walk everywhere from major bud stations to key tourist sites

The water running sound!garden ,caktus aloe Vera!
No good coffee .no good matres.
4.3
Good location, close to the center
Nice common areas with Wi-Fi and disposable coffee
Carlos is very friendly and helpful - he let us leave our bags in the hostel before the check-in and after the checkout
The room was very dirty when we arrived - we told Carlos and he cleaned it the day after. Woke up with a cockroach in the bed. The hostel is a bit noisy and very cold during the night.

Really great staff. They work so hard and are very accommodating. Very clean. Very quiet and peaceful at night. The wifi is good so its easy to work from there, although the internet does not reach the upstairs terrace. My room was huge and very cute with a private bathroom. Pretty courtyard. Great view from the upstairs terrace.
Hmmmm.....I found the shower a little confusing at first but the water was hot and everything works so actually no complaints.

Quiet, small hostel in the city centre - great location. Owner and staff are very welcoming. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, with lots of plants and a couple of cats. Books to borrow, and a chess board. There is a well equipped kitchen, fridge, drinking water, dining table. Free tea and coffee. There is a roof terrace. Showers have hot water. Good wifi. I ended up staying 6 nights. Loved it!
The only downside from my point of view was that there is a smoking area next to the kitchen so smoke drifts into the kitchen. I personally think it would be better to limit the smoking area to the roof terrace. Not too much of a problem for me as there weren’t many smokers, but would be unpleasant if there were several smokers staying.
4.3
The vibe of this hostel is very chill. They have a patio, kitchen and terrace as socialising areas, but any lights and music stops at 10:00pm and all guest respect that. It's very quiet at night, despite being very central located. Fernando, the host is a real star. He gave me all the trip and food tips I ever wanted. The cleaning staff keeps this place pristine to the point where you can walk around barefoot. They also have two cats and turtles, which is very cool!
There is a bathroom widely located in the dormitory. If you are shy, you will probably prefer using the sanitarios in the main area.
4.3
There was a "smoke area" , but the smoke made his way to my room, so the room was fill with smoke. If you are a smoker, this this your place.
4.3
Great atmosphere and super friendly staff!

The house is super beautiful with all furniture for cooking and having a relaxing stay. The other guests were really kind and friendly. The rooms are quiet during the whole day, making it excellent to stay at the house to work, read, or do other.
4.3
beautiful place with cats, turtles & lots of plants. very peaceful with hammocks, sun (and a sunny roof terrace) and laid back vibe.
Basic facilities but it’s all you need. Not many toilets. plus other guests could smoke right outside bedroom door so would waft in

Maybe the best location for a hostel in Oaxaca City. The lobby-terrace area is beautiful with a large pond that is home to a couple of turtles and a lot of tiny fish in survival-mode, surrounded by tropical foliage. However, Calle Benito Juarez is cram-packed with traffic almost continuously. Honk-honk-honk. But, you don't hear any traffic noise when the giant double-doors at the front are closed; The kitchen is well supplied with cooking-ware; There's free coffee and tea in the early morning; There's two wonderful cats to welcome you; And, the kitchen is supplied with many kinds of herbs and spices. If you need groceries, there is a small grocery store 2 blocks to your east (on Calle Independencia) next to a bakery.
(1). An infernal collection of the world's most irritating pop-music favorites (from the 80s) blares from a large-speaker all day long, just to remind you all about material girls in a material world, how girls just wanna have fun and why George Michaels is never gonna dance again. (2). A very loud American English teacher who was frequently teaching online just outside the door to my room, who was intent on propagating horrendous English. (e.g. Using the word "like" as frequently as possible. He like...made me... like... wanna like... check-out.
