perfecte stay in monteverde

prachtige locatie, ruime kamer met balkon. terwijl je op het balkon zat kwamen de kolibries op minder dan 1 meter afstand. randall, de eigenaar, runt het bedrijf met zijn familie en doet dit zeer liefdevol en kan alles voor je regelen. ook het restaurant serveert heerlijk eten

Outside of the spiders and bugs in our room which is to an extent understandable due to where we were at. The place was

I love the location, and the fact there is a spot to go watch the sunset that is a short uphill walk! Then restaurant and staff were nice!

I understand we are in the nature and the location. But there were tons of spiders in our room and a couple bugs.

Sitio con una ubicación y unas vistas increíbles, cerca de todo para visitar, el trato del personal increíble y te ayudan en todo lo que esté en su mano (excursiones, indicaciones,…) Randal un tío genial y trato súper cercano

Si tuviese que buscar algo, aunq no sería fácil encontrar algo malo, Para mi gusto, aunq durante la noche bajan bastante las temperaturas y no se duerme mal, durante el día se agradecería si tuviese aire acondicionado en la habitación

fantastic stay, must do dinner

wonderful property, very comfortable room, excellent service and out of this world food! the room was very comfortable with the most comfortable bed on our whole trip. we had a wonderful balcony with 2 rocking chairs that we enjoyed very much. we watched the residents cat play with the resident armadillo! and white faced monkeys came to visit us at breakfast. But most impressive was dinner! we opted to eat at Belcruz both evenings we stayed here. it was absolutely fantastic, do not skip dinner!!!! I thought the chef must have worked many years at a fancy restaurant in the city, but we found out it is the owners son who happens to be very talented. it was the best food on our trip by far. and the beef filet was most probably the best one we ever had at a restaurant!

someone had smoked in the room which is completely out of ownerships control. it seemed they worked hard on getting the smell out.

The customer service and food is nothing we have experienced before, could not fault the dinner and families customer service is top notch, worth the venture out for town even for the dinner

Wonderful family run accomodation, 5* restaurant and near all attractions

Great location near the all the main zip lining groups. What made this stay so wonderful was the real sense of a family run business who went out of their way to make you feel welcome We had an amazing meal in the restaurant that evening cooked by Randall’s ( the owner) son.

We had a short but fantastic time in Monte Verde and staying at Belcruz Family Lodge.

The room was really clean, nice view, the walk to breakfast is really nice, and the breakfast that we had was really good. Randall was a huge help with setting us up with tours, and giving recommendations!

Our only complaint was road noise. It would help if Costa Rica would enforce rules on motorcycle mufflers :).

Excellent staff and awesome restaurant.

The room was very comfortable and lots of room for luggage and sleeping. The porch out from was great for watching the sunset too. Although there is no A/C, this part of Costa Rica is cool in the evenings and the portable fan was plenty to keep things comfortable.

A lovely family B&B right in nature

The location, right in nature, just on the outskirts of Monteverde/Santa Elena, is perfect. The view from the rooms is incredible! The owners are incredibly nice and caring, and we felt welcomed and at home right away.

The rooms would benefit from a little modernization in terms of decoration and furnishings.

Wonderful high quality family run b&b

Lovely relaxing stay an easy 10/20 minute taxi away from most excursions. The food is top quality and way beyond expectations. It was great to chill on the balcony overlooking the forest when having some down time. Staff were wonderful and very helpful. Also be sure to drop into the coffee plantation a 15 minute walk down the road.

very big rooms, very good breakfast, warm welcome from staff the place is in the middle of mountains and you can stargaze at night!

the room didn’t have airco, the host was nice and brought a fan but it was very noisy to use at night.

Perfect stay!

Belcruz was perfect. Run by the most wonderful family - the rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfast was delicious and so filling. The staff were also so helpful at making sure we had everything we needed and gave us all the information we needed on tours etc.

Exceptional

The room was beautiful with a great bathroom, the location was perfect, the staff were warm and friendly and the food was amazing!

The water in the shower was lukewarm and the pillows were crap.

The BnB with the most friendly owners and staff you might meet on your whole journey - Randall & family are genuinely gracious hosts making sure you get the most and best out of your stay and the culinary skills of Randall Jr are not to be missed.

Unbelievable Sunset

The room was spotless and the view amazing. Breakfast was delicious! We would absolutely recommend.

It would have been nice if one of the windows was screened so we could keep it open at night.

The staff were so helpful and absolutely a pleasure dealing with. They helped answer all of my questions and then some. The location and facilities were amazing. The food was great I recommend staying for dinner. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

The room has a beautiful view from your own balcony. They have a wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit. The hosts are very nice and accommodating.

We would recommend this place to friends.

We loved the view and the fact that it was easy to access. Breakfast was good. We walked up their hill to watch the sunset. We had a delicious dinner here.

When it was very windy in Monteverde we really heard the wind blowing hard in the room. We could also hear motorbike traffic on the highway, but which is balanced by the fact that the access was so easy.

Superb

We booked a small room overlooking a valley and lovely landscaping. The host was pleasant and accommodating. We were just down the hill from Kapi Kapi, our favorite restaurant. Breakfasts were good and filling - granola and eggs. We had dinner there and it was fine. You can't beat the price for a good room in a pleasant setting.

Some road noise - motorbikes are ubiquitous in the area. It is west of town and the reserves are on the east side.

Excellent location, friendly staff, and a beautiful.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us. Just outside of town in a private, serene setting. The view was amazing! We were very comfortable in the spacious room. The Wi-Fi was spotty, but only because of the private location. We had hot water for the shower. The staff was so friendly and hospitable. We’d definitely stay here again and encourage others to do the same if visiting the area. A car is a must!

Wi-Fi signal, but no fault of the hotel. A bit more varied breakfasts.

A fantasitic family run business that supports the local economy.

This is a family run business. Randall Sr. is a fantastic host. Randall Jr. is the best young chef, 21, my wife and I have ever encountered. The dinners at the restaurant are equal to a five-star restaurant in Europe or America. Truly amazing food and accommodations for the price!!!

We have absolutely nothing we can criticize. Stay here before they start charging what they should for both the accommodations and the food.

Really nice view from the rooms, spend some time on your terrasse. the food was good too, make sure you try the desserts :) Randal was very friendly

The reception and reception is a small walk from the rooms. not a negative, but keep in mind if that might be a problem for you.

Amazing stay at great family run hotel.

The owner, Randall, speaks perfect English and is extremely helpful. His son works in the kitchen, and could also work in a fine dining restaurant. The food is amazing! The room was nice, and clean with great matrassess on the beds. The balcony has some stunning views!

Amazing stay

Beautiful location. Spacious clean rooms, warm shower. The breakfast was very good and we got a lot of food, including local fruits which were amazing. The owner is super friendly and very helpful. We even had a nice dinner at the restaurant.

We had a wonderful time in Monteverde. The family is very friendly and has good advice on what to do in Monteverde. Unfortunately they didn’t have baby gear during the stay but we made it work. Breakfast was excellent and we loved the view from the room and the little trail that takes us from the room to the restaurant !!

We received a very warm welcome from Randall. He gave us lots of information about the area. The view from the rooms is just incredible. We loved watching the sun set. Breakfast was very nice too.
