Beautiful stunning location, room was lovely, staff were friendly but professional nothing was too much trouble.
Two members of staff stood out for us, the lady with long blonde hair think her name was bev and the lady who served us breakfast.
Evening meal was fantastic and prices were reasonable, the bar was lovely to sit in atmosphere was great and drinks prices were not over priced.
Would love to come back when the weather is better to experience the outside areas.
Our stay wasn't long enough :(

Location on the Offa’s Dyke Path. Very helpful staff and good value food at dinner.
Not really a country house hotel more the epicentre of a 150 holiday home park - children and dogs in all areas, Gold Radio playing throughout.

Room was nicely decorated and spacious. The breakfast was amazing and I think one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. I have some allergies which means I have to be careful what I eat, where I stay etc. The hotel was very helpful and accommodating with this and they even tailored the breakfast to my needs! They have a broad selection in general.
The Jacuzzi was really nice but did seem like it was due some maintenance as it was splashing water up the wall at times and making some noises. I did mention this when checking out and they said they would look into it.

There was a slight mess-up with the room I was supposed to have on the 2nd night but it was very well handled

There was parking.
I wasn't tempted by dinner, and I had to leave before 8.00 am and therefore was unable to have breakfast.
The bed could have enough springs to provide adequate support. I kept on rolling out of the bed!
Despite the heating being off it was rediculously hot. I couldn't open the windows as they were painted shut.

The outside of the hotel looks great and some of the public spaces were very atmospheric.
Our room was not very comfortable and smelled stale. If you have to stay here, I'd suggest upgrading to a more expensive room. The restaurant was substandard: our soup (which definitely came from a can) was served at room temperature, as were most of our main meals.

beautiful location, amazing property and the staff are wonderful. friendly atmosphere all round.

The very warm welcome by staff, a roaring fire to sit by with a drink from the bar, very child friendly. Our family room was large with a separate room for the children. Good facilities in the room for making hot drinks, delicious biscuits provided and some chocolates. There is plenty of parking, stunning location and an amazing breakfast in the morning.
Cobwebs in the room, the mattress on the main bed was saggy and needed replacing, carpets in the bedroom needed hoovering, just generally needed a deeper clean.

Breakfast was excellent. A wide choice available. Very well presented and staff are very friendly and professional.
The only thing I would like changed is the size of the duvet it only just covered the bed so when you turned over it wasn’t covering you which led to a disturbed sleep.

Room was clean
I was advised I could check in at 11.00am via booking.com. I arrived shortly after to be told I could not book in before 3.00pm.
Poached egg and sausages were undercooked at breakfast, causing a pool of raw egg to completely cover my breakfast making it inedible. I declined another breakfast as this had turned my stomach.

Fabulous place with fascinating history and engagement. Cheerful spirit from staff and guests alike. Worth visiting, supporting and encouraging.
Room windows extremelly dirty. Sad because the rest of the room was spotless.
