Immaculately clean. Very confortable beds and great shower. The staff were amazing. We are 3 cyclists and had a safe place to store our bikes. My boyfriend was hit by a pick up truck on his bike the day we left, so we had to return to the hostel. They let us check back in early and were very helpful and understanding. We couldn’t work the TV and they swapped it for a new one within the hour. The kitchen was ideal for cooking and having a fridge and drinking water available was a massive bonus. The rooftop food was good and they play great music at weekends. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Nothing.

Central location. Great staff. AC from 7pm to 7am sure help in in Tuxtla’s sweltering heat.
Nothing.

The room was basic, had AC and bed was comfy enough! There was also a desk to work on. Internet worked OK. And the rooftop bar upstairs was super nice!
Since Tuxtla isn't exactly a place people get stuck in because it's so nice (for me, anyway - just another town) it seemed more like a hostel people stay short term, to take some rest. It wasn't a social hostel. It is up to each guest whether this is positive or a downside.
There was a shower in my room, but no toilet. The shared toilet was not air conditioned so it was painfully hot there.
Then the kitchen. There were cockroaches, not a lot of common utensils, and the ones that were there seemed quite old. So I avoided using it.

Had a very comfortable private room with good aircon as it was 40 degrees Celsius outside. We arrived after a night bus at 9am and they let us checkin early so we could sleep. Live music at the roof top bar at night. Booked the Canyon tour through the hostel and had a great experience.
Booked this place as it had a kitchen but it was pretty cramped and with few facilities and no table or chairs. The only 'common area' turns into a bar in the evening were you obviously can't bring in outside food or drinks so when we cooked at 8pm we had no where to eat it or even sit so had to eat standing in the kitchen over the sink

Super clean comfy. Air con was a blessing. Kitchen small but had enough to cook. Staff always around to help. Location great for centre

Not breakfast

The rooms seem to have been recently renovated, room 14 was simple but clean and with new furniture, good amount of sunlight and very quiet at night. good internet.
The "Hostal" part seemed to have been an afterthought . The "kitchen" is about 4 meters square. with a fridge that leeks and opens the wrong way. no way to make coffee, hardly any cooking eq. or eating utensils

Nice rooftop, good location although Tuxtla itself isn't great... Helpfull staff and very clean!
Kitchen is wayyy to small

It’s an a great location, it made me feel safe. loved that the lady at the front desk allowed me to change my dates (I had accidentally book for a week later). the AC works perfectly. they give you towels and the bar has an amazing environment, great drinks and food too.
just a couple of things, the linens were too thin. I got the top bunk right in front of the AC and couldn’t sleep for an hour or two. the linens were paper thin, I had to cover myself with the towel and cover my face with the pillow.

Kitchen is small and everything else than hygenic, as in most places.
The only other common place is the roof top terrasse, which is a restaurant in the evening. During daytime all chairs are on the tables and windows are closed, so that its gettin pretty hot.

Nice place, good terrace, frienldy. Close to the inner city

Very clean, quiet, and centrally located.
More of a hotel than a hostel.

Good location | clean facilities | filtered water provided | towel provided (with M100 deposit) | hot water and good water pressure | good for one night if passing through to/from San Cristobal | air conditioning in dorms between 7pm-7am |
Small kitchen, the size of a bathroom, accommodate only one person at a time | no common space to eat besides the lobby, which is awkward | only common space besides the rooftop bar in the evening was the lobby | no traveler vibe | poor WiFi outside of common space |

the room was super clean, the shower was good, the towels also. the staff a bit serious but fine. i loved the terrace. nice view
The only that i did not like was the shared bathroom. but the rest was perfect.

The best surprise was the rooftop bar with reasonable prices and interesting drinks (+ you get some percents off as a guest of the hostel) and nice night views.. maybe I'm a bad seeker but it looked like Tuxtla has pretty much no place to have a drink at night so it's nice to find out the only option is actually at the same building :D
+ AC was working and towel was included (for a refundable deposit).
The kitchen was okay but at some point I noticed a small roach, so there's probably still some space for improving the cleaning. Everything else was totally okay.

There roof top terrace bar was very nice with live killer band on Saturday night. All female band rocking the marimba! Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Down the street from the main square. The views from the roof were excellent.

Clean and comfortable, simple, warm water.
Not so social space. But there is a little lobby to talk :)

The room and the staff were great. The bathroom was on par and we enjoyed our stay. The upstairs terrace doesn’t serve breakfast anymore, but the staff up there was SO nice as well.
We weren’t warned upon booking nor check-in that there would be loud music from the terrace (3rd floor) on Friday and Saturday night. We managed, but we stayed in the 1st floor and found it loud.

Clean, comfortable beds, hot water, good wifi, kitchen, roof top bar with live music on the weekends, excellent location

Its in a great location, has a good vibe. There is always someone at the reception and they are very helpful, you can also leave your luggage in the storage. The room was clean and in a good standard. There is a rooftop restaurant with a great view and live music, loved it. There was a shower with hot water (pressure ok) in the room and the toilet in the hallway.
Well like in most hostels, you can hear your neighbours. And because its Mexico, there are other noises as well, but its bearable. Other than that, neat!

Very affordable price for a private room
for 2. Comfy beds with actual blankets!
You could hear a little bit
of noice from outside but we still slept really good.

Everything.
The only thing was the shower in the room didn't have a shower head so the water just came tumbling down on you, but it was manageable especially with how nice everything else was.

Nice staff that spoke English, very comfy room, great shower (probably the best we had in Mexico) and cool rooftop bar

I stayed in a 4 beds dorm. I met nice people there. It was quiet and clean. There is a rooftop with a kitchen. It is a nice place to stay!

The hotel is well maintained, clean and well organized, and the staff is extremely friendly. I was first in a female dorm, then I moved to a mixed dorm, in the end I paid extra for a separate room since it was impossible to sleep in the dorm rooms on the 2nd floor before 01:00, because of the parties on the terrace above.
Parties every night on the terrace. The supposed opening time is until 11:30 p.m., but that's very late if you have to get up early in the morning. Also, it never ends at that time, because the staff is cleaning the terrace, moving tables and chairs, which creak so that everything can be heard in the rooms below. All dorm rooms on the second floor are terribly noisy and rest is impossible. Also, the hot shower did not work in two dorm rooms (15 and 11) and there was no Wi-Fi signal. Only when I paid extra for a separate room, which is expensive, on the first floor, i had peace, hot water and a good wifi signal. I think it's really not right that every night until midnight the guests can't sleep because of a few of them who want to have fun on the terrace. Or, write in the description that it's a place for parties, so that the rest of us, who need a good rest, don't come to this hostel.

Everything - the staff, the room, the atmosphere, the security, the location are all brilliant and they just get on with it and just get it right. Also the rooftop terrace bar must be the coolest place in the city. There was incredibly good live bands on both nights I was there and the food, beer, service and people and atmosphere was a perfect.
Nothing to dislike here
