Coolest place to stay in coolest small town.

Cute townhouse. Great walking location. Great decor. You feel like you’re at home. Handy having washer n dryer due to wet clothes from rafting trip. Quick response from owner about check in question. Thanks for a great trip!

This was a uniquely and thoughtfully decorated spot in the perfect location for an adventurous weekend. Comfortable and quiet even with the central location.

The property was utterly charming, so perfectly appointed, we loved it! Each day we marveled at the delightful little touches everywhere…even lavender pillow spray! Great bed, sheets and pillows also.

I considered the 1904 Townhouse to be the perfect location to explore New River Gorge and to be able to come back to the townhouse after a long day of fun. We could walk to any of several good restaurant choices. The Cathedral across the street is a great place for breakfast. We enjoyed the coffee shop as well (also across the street).

spent a three-day weekend here again. It is so wonderful, and convenient to the quaint but busy downtown Fayetteville. I will certainly continue booking.

The property was unique, clean and perfect. Right in the middle of town with easy access to New River Gorge and the entire area

This home was perfect for our long weekend getaway to the New River Gorge area. Good setup for our family of 6. Everything was clean, comfortable, and we had everything that we needed. The best part was the location right in downtown Fayetteville with cute shops and restaurants just outside our door, and a short drive to hiking, rafting, and other outdoor activities.

Cutely renovated townhouse within walking distance to several casual eateries and just a short drive from New River Gorge National Park. Well-furnished in an eclectic style, clean and well stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, and especially enjoyed the alleyway "garden"!

Great location in downtown Fayetteville. Walking distance to several great restaurants and centrally located for all we wanted to explore in the New River Gorge area. Beds super comfortable. Owner very responsive. Home was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Great stay!

We enjoyed our two night stay. The townhouse is expertly designed in a warm and eclectic way. It was fastidiously clean. The cleanest vacation rental I’ve been in - including my own. Location is perfect to pop out for a walk, browse the shops, or get a drink or meal. You can hear every bit of street noise including conversations as people walk by. We could barely hear the bar only when its door was open and live music playing but that ends about 10. We sleep with a white noise app (and there are sound machines provided) and never heard a thing from the bedrooms. But you can hear through the bunk room and bedroom louvered doors and the bunk can hear anything from the living room so it’s best to bring a sound machine for that room or consider it a 2BR. My 6’1” husband did have to duck going through a couple of the doorways but that’s part of the eclectic charm. Bonus, you can buy the furnishings if you wish.

Wonderful location, amenities and ambiance! Comfortable beds, great water pressure and all of the modern conveniences of home! There are few locations in Fayetteville that are better - easy access to all there is to do in town! A very quiet location, even though you are in the heart of the town! We are looking forward to staying here again soon.

Conveniently located. Charming and adorable furnishings. Very cozy. After a day of hiking it’s a great place to relax, turn on the fire place, and enjoy your family.

Space was very well thought out. Comfortable and relaxing. We had a very nice time.

The property was very enjoyable. It felt like walking into a prohibition era saloon. Very period but with the modern amenities. It’s quirky and fun to explore the space. The space feels like it has a story to tell. It feels random yet somehow uniquely cohesive. The hosts were very responsive to any questions we had and were very friendly. The location is an absolute 10! Directly across the street from everyone’s favorite breakfast spot at Cathedral. We walked to pies and pints for dinner as well. We did only stay in the back bedroom so I can’t speak to the other rooms but it was very quiet. All in all 10/10 will definitely book again.

We had an amazing time staying in the 1904 Townhouse! It has the best location. Close to food and hiking etc. We loved the Cathedral Cafe across the street and the bar next door! Both had great food and atmosphere. It was a bit noisy in the front bedroom but the amazing location made up for it.
Also, the townhouse was well stocked so we didn’t need to bring anything.

Faytetteville, WV is the coolest little town, with access to the best hikes New River Gorge has to offer and lots of other activities. Loved the breweries and restaurants. The 1904 townhouse was amazing, lots of space, excellent host, central location.

1904 Townhouse was perfect for our recent long weekend visit to the New River Gorge National Park. It's location in Fayetteville was perfect - close to the park and within walking distance to restaurants in town. We really enjoyed our breakfasts at Cathedral Cafe, just across the street from the townhouse. The property had a charming decor and Sharon had thoughtful touches to make the stay special. Highly recommended!

We are a group of 3 women in our 50s who absolutely loved our time at the Townhouse! We didn't have any trouble with noise as others have mentioned but we also knew it was in the center of town and didn't expect it to be a quiet getaway. On the contrary the location was a big draw since it allowed us to walk to shops, adventure dealers, and food. The host was very responsive and helped us work through getting set up with wifi.
We would stay here again and encourage others to as well.

Great location, very clean and tidy - parking was close by and convenient.

The property is unique has everything one needs for a stay and is conveniently located in the one stop light town of Fayetteville. It is convenient to coffee shops, a handful of restaurants and a really cool escape room.
The biggest downside has already been mentioned. It is extremely loud due to the street and bar which noise makers and earplugs can mostly address. The biggest issue is the smell of marijuana and cigarette smoke which I can only assume is coming from the apartments and the bar that shares a wall with the property. Is was so strong it woke my wife. We were using the air conditioner so we think it was pulling air in from someplace.

Lovely property. But the best part was the communication with the owner. 100% on top of things. With great suggestions of things to do. Instant response to any questions.
Had a great experience.

This is an unassuming place from the outside, but really thoughtfully laid out and furnished. Kitchen has everything you need. Conveniently located across the street from a coffee shop and a couple restaurants and a bar next door. Also dog friendly which is great (though the pet fee is steep )

The property is well decked out with a traditional style, with two good sized bedrooms, two full baths and a small room with a bunk bed. The kitchen is equipped with almost everything you'll need for your stay. The host lives nearby, and is very reachable and responsive. The location is excellent. It's a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. My husband, my son and I just spent our Thanksgiving there, and really enjoyed the stay.

Interesting decor and Fantastic location in town! Everything was as expected. Loved the outdoor porch, and back bedroom was super quiet and comfortable. but we did find ourselves rolling to the middle of the mattress at night.

Renegade Writer's Guild chose the New River Gorge in West Virginia as the location for our writers retreat. With many desks and tables, the Townhouse was a perfect place as our base while there with many places to relax and write.

Such a cozy and convenient location to hiking and the river. Attention to detail was displayed throughout the property.

This property is a beautifully appointed townhome, with luxury appliances and amenities (great kitchen, comfortable beds, luxurious showers), in the center of Fayetteville. Fayetteville lives up to its "coolest small town" nickname, with great food and breweries, and very easy access to outdoor adventures (during our six day vacation, we went hiking, horseback riding, ziplining, and enjoyed the ACE water playground). The townhome is a perfect place to relax after enjoying the outdoors and everything that Fayetteville and the surrounding area have to offer!

It is an interesting location for a VRBO, in the middle of the town. This is because it is a commercial building converted to a residence. It is nice has quality furnishings (many for sale) has adequate room but just. We liked the pub next door which seems to attract locals and tourists alike. There are several good restaurants within a couple miles of this property. And, it is on one of the main intersections in the middle of town. Which we liked. But some might should be aware of considerable loud cars and louder trucks outside your door.

Fun in Fayetteville
Wonderful location with easy access to NRG and restaurants. The townhouse was clean, very comfortable and well appointed. Additionally the hosts were very quick and accommodating with questions and concerns. I highly recommend this property!

Cozy and Convenient
Six of us stayed here celebrating my mom’s 85th birthday with activities planned in the surrounding area. When we arrived there was a citywide power outage and our hosts showed up immediately with lanterns for us to use until the power was restored. It was cozy, comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. It was steps away from dining, shopping and entertainment.

Excellent!!!
Great location, great property, great hostess. I wish every property was this well furnished. Standouts were the decor, beds and pillows, shower, work area and ... the list could just go on. We were only there 3 nights and wanted to stay much longer. Coffee shops, restaurants and the Ben Franklin are wthin a blocks walk. Thank you Sharon!

Best Cool Small Town Accommodations
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The 1904 Townhouse! The location is perfect for a delightful stay in Fayetteville, one of the best "coolest small towns" in the US. The location was central to everything we wanted to see and experience, including a short walk to great pizza, the not to be missed Cathedral Cafe, and short drive to the New River Gorge.
We were looking for a quiet space to do some writing and the 1904 was just the spot. Tastefully decorated and updated, the rooms were spacious, comfortable and immaculate. The gas log fireplace was easy to use and cozy in the evening.
Sharon was so helpful from check in to departure, quick to answer questions about best places to eat and making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.
The bathrooms were a highlight with all amenities and the open concept kitchen had everything we needed to cook or heat leftovers. We slept well thanks to comfortable mattresses and. bedding. There was live music next door (early evening on Friday) that could be heard in the front of the townhouse. The singers were quite good, and long finished before an early bedtime.
We would definitely return and highly recommend this gem of a cool small town retreat.

Unique and wonderful! In the heart of town. Stocked extremely well in kitchen and throughout.
An entire 3 BR 2 Bath single level townhome unit, furnished with antiques, artwork and premium bedding, super clean and totally walkable to coffee shops, restaurants, bars, shopping and historical places. Also a very short dtive to the New River Gorge and its beauty and activitied. Sharon was a wonderful host, totally accessible and very nice. The unit is exceptional, quirky in a good way and comfortable. The gas fireplace was a plus. Would highly recommend. I went with my BFF of many years. We thiroughly enjoyed our trip. Thank you to Sharon for your extra touches at 1904.

Great location for Wizard Weekend
Cozy townhouse in heart of downtown. Perfect location to visit all the Wizard Weekend shops and activities. It was super convenient to warm up on this cold weekend.
Our host was welcoming and provided all the information we needed for the trip.

1904 Townhouse : November 2021
We enjoyed our stay. Townhouse was clean and comfortable.
It would have been very helpful to have an info sheet on how to start the gas fireplace. We had to disturb the landlord for instructions.
The location is convenient, but street traffic is loud in the front bedroom. No noise in back bedroom.
We enjoyed cooking. The kitchen was well equipped.
TV instructions would have saved us some time. We never were able to access Netflix. Not a big deal to us, but may be to other guests.
There are several levels in the townhome, so this is not a handicap friendly property. There is only one way in and out. I think this is a safety violation.
It was very convenient to everything in town.

Clean and Interesting
This one-level townhouse was very clean and orderly for our stay. Sharon and Charlie were friendly and responsive to questions and concerns. The townhouse itself is a renovated storefront that has a unique floor plan. The property is tastefully decorated and incorporates several repurposed materials.
The 1904 townhouse is in the heart of the downtown area and you can walk to several local businesses, including restaurants and a Ben Franklin, and there are several good hiking trails within a 3-mile drive.
The only detraction is the noise and sound. There is a bar next door, and two of the four nights out of our weekday stay, there were events at the bar until about 10pm at night. One of the events was a live band, and the music pervaded the townhouse while they played. The front bedroom is especially noisy as it is close to the road and bar. The back bedroom was much quieter.
