lovely hotel, would recommend and also definitely stay there again.

Very friendly staff. Made a fuss of us on our anniversary with complementary Prosecco and mini dessert. Meal was excellent. Room clean and comfortable. Very convenient for our visits to Great Dixter gardens and to Scotney Castle the day after.

The food was excellent and the room we stayed in (room 12) was in excellent condition. The staff couldn't do more to ensure our stay was a pleasant experience. They were all cheerful and anxious to please. We were especially grateful to Sharon who was a credit to the management team. We would happily return to this hotel in the future.

I would recommend, a historical house very nicely renovated.

Lovely room and location and the staff were all brilliant.
Only downside was that our room was directly over the bar so was quite noisy from that and we could hear very loud talking from neighbouring room until gone midnight each night…just unlucky with who was in next room I guess. Not hotels fault, but if you want early night then maybe a different room further from the bar would be better.

We were welcomed by friendly staff and shown to our room. Attention to detail was high.
Sat out the front of the hotel for drinks in the sunshine. We didn’t need to leave our seats! The staff were very attentive, noticed when we were empty and brought our drinks out to us. Perfect!
Food was brilliant.
The breakfast was the best ever!
Would recommend.

Highly recommend this b&b. Mattress was on the soft side for me, but other than that, it was lovely. Room was clean, breakfast was fantastic quality with lots of choice. Ate dinner here too, food was cooked very well, including the steak. Location great too. Although on a main road, there was minimal traffic noise. Shower was awesome, with plenty of hot water. Staff were attentive, friendly and polite. If I am visiting this area again, I wouldnt hesitate to come back. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Absolute gem of a hotel, small enough to feel very personal, superb food and spotless, very comfortable rooms. Special shout out to Katie who was very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

We were after a few days away in a pretty country setting not too far from London and The Queen’s Inn fit the bill perfectly.
Despite the building being 16th century it is bright and very well kept. Our room was upgraded so we had a very spacious room with a comfy super king bed. The feel is cozy rather than contemporary but not dated as some of the reviews suggest. The bathroom was modern.
From arrival to departure the service was friendly and excellent (including at breakfast and dinner). We were really made to feel like valued customers. Even though we were on there a couple of days the staff remembered how we took our coffee, which was a nice touch.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, you could have a cooked and continental breakfast. The coffee at the Inn is of independent café quality, so you can feel confident ordering espressos, etc.
Dinner was so good we ate there both nights. Gastropub food which caters to everyone (locals, city types, vegans, traditional eaters, etc.) and is reasonably priced. The food was tasty and wonderfully presented, the restaurant had a great atmosphere (whichever room we were in) and the service impeccable.
The building/setting is beautiful and there are all the necessary amenities you need in the village. The Inn is also a 15-20’ drive to Bodiam, Rye and Winchelsea, which are all worth a visit.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Queen’s Inn and would certainly visit again.

A very nice OLD Inn, dating from 1561 but beautifully updated to fit in the 21st century. Still with many of the wooden beams visible. The bedrooms are fairly small but well fitted out with comfortable beds. Stairs to the upper floor are rather narrow but (automatically) well lit.Good food for both the evening meal and breakfast. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The only very minor fault is that there is very little surface on which to place things in the bathrrom - use the window sill !

Stayed during the storm, but such a welcome and beautiful room and especially the bathroom. Ate in the a la carte restaurant, food so good I booked it for Mother’s Day!Cosy, great service, will stay again

This property looks tired. The car park is badly in need of care, the access to rooms is confusing. There is an air of dilapidation.

Lovely staff. Good food. Enjoyable stay. Would return as lots to see and do in area.

Lovely and friendly pub with rooms. The staff were great. Craft (local) beer on tap. Shortcrust bread base pizzas cooked in a charcoal grill which were amongst the best I’ve ever eaten. Great place to stay and dine.

Fascinating ancient building.with plenty of eccentricity. Excellent friendly and helpful staff. Coffee and tea bar in the room was great.

Food was very good. i understand that cooking from fresh takes time but we waited a very long time for our dinner on both evenings.
Also bed linen obviously washed in Bold or Ariel. I was very sensitive to it. Please advise guests of potential sensitive reaction to the use of these chemicals for washing linen.

Excellent location, fantastic food and friendly staff.

Friendly welcome, cold drinking water, fresh milk and chocolate brownies all provided. Clean, comfortable room, unfussy with nice retro touches. Smart bathroom but down a steep flight of stairs. Apparently the only room (no.7) in the hotel with bathroom on a different level. Very good breakfast - brilliant toast. After our visit we had to contact the hotel because of a missing wallet, it had been found and was promptly mailed to us with everything intact. Wonderful service!

This hotel is really lovely. Our room was decorated to a high standard with comfy bed and bedding, lovely bathroom, it felt really cosy. We had fresh filter coffee rather than the usual sachets and fresh milk given in a small flask to keep cold. Also scummy chocolate brownies too. Great greeting when we arrived and very friendly happy staff throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. We ate in the pizza restaurant one evening and the food was great. We would definitely stay here again.

booked on the off chance, with a view to visit Great Dixter before heading hack to South West. Staff were all friendly, food was good, maybe the breakfast buffet could be expanded? jam/marmalade. Stairs were a challenge, but it's an old building so only to be expected. - overall, yes I'd happily go back

Upon arriving they upgraded our room to a quiter room as they had a larger party staying till late, the room was lovely, large and clean. We stayed for dinner (Steak and chicken burger) both dishes where delicious. Couldn't hear anything from the pub below in the room and the bed was perfect. No problems with a later check out, will be staying again soon.

very good generally, only down side was the duvets are too thick and heavy making for a very warm sleep

A fine, old characterful inn with good parking. Excellent welcome with complimentary soft drinks. Rooms are comfortable, reached by winding stairs with low beams, but are reached via the service areas of the Inn. Very good restaurant, with excellent food and very friendly staff. Excellent breakfasts!
