Excellent location. Property has a gate that is locked all the time so you have to get someone to let you in or out every time. This is probably a fire hazard. Room didn’t have air conditioning or even a window. We did get a second fan to help. We weee only given a small bar of soap and a small package of shampoo on day 1 of a 4 night stay. One day housekeeping took our partial roll of toilet paper and left us none!

The bright colors everywhere, art on the walls, greenery, cleanliness, helpful and friendly staff, feeling of safety, and comfort of the beds all made this a very enjoyable stay.
The music from the bar close by was always over by midnight or before.

Location will charge you even if you were physically at the location to cancell, I booked a reservation for my father in law and my mother and they had to cancel the reservation in front of the due to not having a parking spot, the specified having free parking but they had none, and just suggested to go to a parking lot 3 block away, that is a serious inconvenience due to the insecurity in the area, my family went to another hotel but I still got charged even when they requested to cancel this, is this is some sort of scam from this place they will be in serious problems

It was over 90° inside of the oven or shall I say the room with no windows one little fan. This can be dangerous for somebody with high blood pressure and we had someone in my party that suffers from it, we opted to leave, even though they wouldn’t give us a refund. When I told the lady that it was super hot in the rooms, she replied she was also hot. No wonder I didn’t see anyone else staying there. Very poor place don’t stay.

Everything was clean, they were accommodating and even brought another fan to ease the heat in the room. Low water pressure on the shower head but it’s understandable given the drought situation

No air conditioning, crispy and hard towels.
3.0 / 10.0
No windows, no air flow.
Old building, bunker like.
Only windows on the door.
No air conditioner.
One noisy fan.
The rest is cool.

El Nito borders on being charming but it's fairly basic. The key to my room didn't work without a lot of finesse but it was replaced 5 days into my 7 day visit. Wi-fi is spotty. No extras except for a condiment package-sized shampoo and thin bar of soap. Nothing else. No cup. No hair dryer. No AC but decent fan. Room gets cleaned everyday whether you want it or not (have to take out the bathroom trash).
Best parts: Alex, the staff member, who assisted me and my party and it was really nice that he spoke English. Other staff are just "ok." Bed is decent. Room is exceptionally clean.
Could be improved: info about neighborhood surroundings (where get $ changed, where to eat breakfast, etc.); a *little* extra amenities. Even the shared large bottled water where you can fill up for the day was empty and the answer was "the guy is late." I got the feeling that they don't really care one way or the other. Like the key to the room ("guy was supposed to fix it but he didn't come").
The best way I can describe the hotel is that it's probably perfect for young travelers who don't mind street noise or care about extra amenities.

It was on a whole an average stay. I wasn't overwhelmed by the hotel but to be honest all i needed was somewhere to stay in a good location and this was perfect. Pictures aren't up to date, it is a bit older than what pics suggest. Still though it was generally clean, but could definitely do with a refurb. Staff were super friendly and happy to help wherever they could. Quite a family run vibe. Very secure as well, the gate is always locked but there is someone there 24/7 for access to guests. My flight was cancelled after I had arrived at the airport and I unexpectedly had one more night in Oaxaca - I went straight back to check in for one more night. So that says something on how much I rated it and didn't feel need to go elswhere.

Very nice stay and very helpful staff. Close to Zocalo. A bit noisy during the nights due to a bar next to the hotel.

Small hotel in the middle of Oaxaca. Room was small but perfect for me. Didn’t like that they only give you one towel. Asked for another one never got it. Tiny bathroom but ok for me hot water all the time. They never changed my sheets. Even though I asked. 5 days same sheets. Never saw any housekeeping take sheets and towels from any room☹️ Asked to give me a clean towel on the 3 day. Don’t know if the one they gave me was clean or recycle ☹️

Amazing hotel, very close to the center and just a minute or two walk to both a convenience store and a pharmacy. There's two bars next to the hotel but they just add that little extra spice to staying there.

This is my 2nd time at this hotel this year. It's very quiet and super close to everything. When you get out of the hotel, and turn to the right, you have a juice store with the best juices and after one, to the left is the tamales lady and her tamales are the best. The only thing is you need to take showers early morning or at night bc if you take showers around 10am (maybe earlier) and the hotel is full, you will get lukewarm water.
The staffs is great. They truly and deep clean the rooms. I will be back in Oaxaca in couple of months, and i will stay there again.

The hotel itself is very well located and the staff were lovely! Inside you have this stunning little terrace where you can enjoy some sun. The rooms were decent but there was a bad smell coming from the shower (we see that a lot in Mexico which is why you need to put a kind of cover over the drain.
Two negative points are the light and the noise coming from the courtyard. One night there was someone from the staff pouring water into buckets at 1:55 in the morning, right outside our room. We slept with earplugs and eye masks every night.

-I had to wait 1/2 hour to finally get cold water to take a bath.
-Toilet seat was destroyed
-Room was super hot 😔

The hotel is simple, the room was basic but super clean and right in down town Oaxaca.
But It’s impossible to fall sleep with the loud music from the bar next to the hotel.

great location, great price, friendly helpful staff, close to all downtown attractions

This small hotel is centrally located with 10 minutes walk maximum from all attractions in Oaxaca city. The rooms were of decent size with small bathroom inside. The room we stayed in did not have any exterior windows and it was a little hot at times inside, so I advise you run the fan that they provide to move the air around. The wi-fi was o.k. with a decent speed. The front desk ladies were for the most part friendly and accommodating. They always lock the front door, so each time you have to go in or out, you will have to buzz them. One of the main issues I had during my stay at this hotel was the water pressure in the shower and the bathroom sink and also at times the water was only coming out hot and the cold water was non-existent. For that reason alone, I will not come back to this hotel.

They don't accept credit cards, there is no information about it when you book until you get there with not enough cash.
