This hotel was traditionally furnished for the French Quarter of New Orleans with iron railings and a hidden courtyard. Situated just off Bourbon Street it was quiet and relaxing. There are many little cafes and restaurants offering amazing food but a little pricey as expected in this location. The room we had was furnished with bespoke furniture and chandeliers.

It was a clean, nice place to stay. Close to many little shops. The girl at the front desk was so sweet and helpful. We also got to go on a free ghost hunt while staying there. Would definitely stay again.

The first room we got, the ac was broken and by the time we brought our bags down they had already found us a new, even better room. The place is, of course, really old but it was very quiet and clean. We were comfortable and had easy, walkable access to all the places we wanted to visit. The hotel staff was extremely helpful with any questions or support we needed.

Abby was the absolute best. She gave a locals perspective with lots of recommendations. Anytime i needed something or had a question she was able to assist me. The other girls were less knowledgeable and one of the girls said "I don't know the area that well." Of course when she said that i went looking for somewhere that had hair brushes. The only thing I forgot. When I got back from thw building diagonal from the hotel at an Aveda Salon is when I met Abby and she told me everything I wanted and needed to know. The other girls need to know how to recommend things, events, and places to guests like Abby.
Now when we checked it, it was late. Delayed flights and all so my husband and I were tired. Unfortunately there were dirt stains on the top sheet so we requested to have them changed in the morning before leaving to the museum. The cleaning staff didn't make it to our room until after 2 pm to change the linens, so we had to leave and come back to get ready for our steamboat tour.
The most part the property is very quite except for one guy of boys that came stumbling in at 2 am being stupud loud and yelling to the point that someone else yelled at them to quite down. Of course I'm putting it very mild of what was yelled at the drunks.
As far as the haunted part... we didn’t see or hear anything in room 106. I can't speak for other rooms.
The hotel is within walking distance to Bourbon St and a longer (approximately 30 min) to Frenchman St.
We loved Abby!

It’s a give/take. The place is in the perfect area. There was no cable and when I told them they just said “the inside rooms often don’t get the cable”. The room was very comfortable and the staff was friendly.

The location of this hotel is perfect if you want to be close to all the action New Orleans has to over. However, the moment we steped out of the car the smell of urine slapped us in the face. It was like this for our entire stay. When we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff and the lobby was clean. I got the keys and went to my room to find the bed was dirty, i asked for clean sheets and was provided sheets to change the bed myself ( big mistake) the bed was disgusting. There was stains and was seemed to be dog hair all over the bed. I ended up sleeping on top of the covers but was extremely uncomfortable/uneasy.

This hotel was dirty and had no hot water. I asked Expedia to call them to find a resolution. After no compromise could be found I was told by Expedia the hotel would cancel the booking. Now the hotel is charming me and Expedia will not help me. Expedia should not do business with this hotel. It is dirty and they are dishonest about their refunds.

Great location to walk to stores, bars, restaurants and galleries. We loved our balcony where we could here live music of the street performers and walking tours. The staff was helpful and professional. It is an old hotel with lots of character.

The Andrew Jackson Hotel was clean and centrally located in the French Quarter within easy walking distance to Bourbon Street & Jackson Square. Workers at the front desk were always helpful and would greet us anytime we were coming or going. Although it lacks a lot of amenities, that is expected at this low price point and considering the age of the building. Rooms were small & quaint and the AC was cold. We could hear the ice machine throughout the night, but otherwise it was a quiet & enjoyable environment (we couldn’t hear our neighbors or people in the courtyard at all). I love historic homes/buildings, but the AJ is really in need of some updates to room 109 (which was ground level in the courtyard). The bathroom was spacious but it lacked adequate storage and counter space. The vanity was falling apart (pictured). Likewise, the bathtub faucet was hanging loosely from the wall (every time we lifted the pull-up diverter valve to shower we thought the faucet might come off with it). There were cracked tiles, mildewy caulking & dirty (or at best, mismatched) grout. A bathroom renovation would go a long way at this place.
The bottom line is personally, I don’t think I’d prefer to stay in the French Quarter again but if I did, I would stay at the Andrew Jackson Hotel.

I wanted to share the letter and pictures I sent the general manager. But the letter and pictures are too large for this platform to accommodate.
This place has lots charm but also lots of dirt. The location is great, Adam was the best! He tried really hard to get us taken care of. But over all it’s dirty and not maintained. Don’t do it!

We loved staying at the Andrew Jackson Hotel! The staff were wonderful, the room spacious, the courtyard so fun to sit in. Resident courtyard cat was a plus and seeing the paranormal tours come through was fun. Great place to stay and close to everything.

The customer service by Jaime and one other staff member whom I cannot remember his name. The guy I can’t remember his name, he took it upon himself to decorate for Easter, which was a really nice touch. Well he and Jaime were outstanding in their hospitality and customer service skills. So I will only give this hotel a 5 star thanks to them. The other 2-3 staff members were not nice and looked like they did not want to be there. But the hotel over all was amazing!

We stayed from Saturday to Wednesday and were not impressed. If I could have, I would have stayed elsewhere. The room was not clean, it took 3 requests to get clean linens and towels, our towels and linens had hair and makeup on them. I will go back to New Orleans but I would not stay nor recommend the Andrew Jackson.

When we arrived the hotel did not have any reservations for the 3 rooms we had reserved. I was on the phone for over 4 hours with Hotels .com being passed around and on hold while they tried to resolve the issue. The conversation didn’t transfer so we started ooo ver at least 5 times. Finally we found our own hotel and transferred the reservations. The hotel was very helpful.

Exactly the French Quarter antique vibe we were looking for. One street over from Bourbon so that bars and music are conveniently close but far enough away to be quiet once back at hotel.

The property is well maintained and comfortable with a very attentive and knowledgeable staff that made us feel as if we were staying with friends. The bathroom in the rooms could use some small upgrades.

Do not believe the online pictures. It is in disrepair , bare necessities, . Old is one thing and can be lovely…. This place is awful….

Absolutely awful, dirty, and uncomfortable. Checked out early as we just couldn’t spend a second night here. Stained sheets, mold in the bathroom, uncomfortable bed. So disappointed.

Adam was wonderful! He made us feel at home. There is a cat named Andrew in the courtyard who is an absolute sweet heart. It was nice to sit in the courtyard and have his company. Our room was cozy and nicely decorated. Great location in the French quarter. It's far enough from bourbon st to not have all the noise, but close enough to every major attraction.

I want to start by saying I grew up in New Orleans, and I’m used to old buildings. This room wasn’t just old, it was FILTHY. Hair on the towels, the air vents looked like they haven’t been cleaned since the civil war, mysterious drips and stains on the wall, the tub was stained black, it was GROSS. I left with a sinus infection and feeling like I needed a tetanus shot. The pillows were paper thin and pretty much useless. The side table was broken and sliced my husbands hand open. The door lock was busted and did not feel secure.
The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful. They also ran my card when I arrived for the late checkout fee. Then at check out tried to tell me I still owed for it. After telling them we had already been charged, the guy ran my card again with out asking or clarifying. Then LOUDLY announced infront of other people the card was declined (yeh I could have told you that, it was the wrong card). That’s why you ASK people before running a card. After going back and forth and showing that we DID pay the late check out fee, as well as a $40 pet fee, and $50 parking (they will nickel and dime you to death) the guy tried to act like he was doing us a favor and “waive” the fee. Except we had STILL already paid it. So beware, they will deff charge you twice for things.
The location is great but everything else is a nightmare. Stay away

The real name of the French Quarter is the old quarter and this hotel matches that. The carpet in the hall is very worn, all areas need paint, woodwork refinished and a general cleaning. Our room had a balcony overlooking Royal Street, so there was some street noise. Our tv didn't work.
We were only there for one night and loved the vibe of the place feeling like we were part of the Nawlins experience. Everything in the bathroom worked, the bed was comfy soft, and the furnishings were antique.
If you prefer a modern hotel this ain't it but we liked it for our short stay.
Oh, by the way, the hotel is purportedly haunted, and we had two strange occurances. Just sayin'...

I liked the fact the hotel is an historic building. The front desk employees are rock solid on customer service and will make guests feel appreciated. However, the maid service has a lot to be desired. Maid service not accommodating to guests needs and should be more attentive to detailed cleaning and services. Example bed never made and when asked for more shampoo and conditioner was ignored.

It has old charm court yard was really nice. Room was OK .Very dirty curtain on window of door you come in and out of your room. Also outlets in room didnt hold plug very well for phone charger.
These are minor things people were very nice.I would stay again!

Always wanted to stay at this hotel - but will never stay here again - from our experience-
1. First got to room we had NO towels and half a roll of toilet paper. That night I asked the front desk person for the items and he could not get them bc they were locked up and he would have to wait for the supervisor. Still got nothing until I went the next morning to the front desk and asked again.
2. Old hotel - the heater just couldn’t keep up with the temperature. It was cold and I set heater at 74. Whole trip it only got up to 67. We were cold.
3. There was rust in the tub and the silver knob that goes from bath to shower was rusted in place as a shower. The faucet for the shower was the type you turn in a circle. It usually stops with hot water. This one kept going around and around and around. You had to guess the spot for hot water and really guess the exact spot to turn off the water.
4. Cracks in the wall, old linen on the beds and hard mattresses- my mattress sunk in the middle.
5. The tv remote only worked if you stood right in front of the TV.
We stayed 2 nights bc we paid (no refunds) and couldn’t wait to leave. Never again.
