Teresa was absolutely lovely—an excellent host. Our room was very clean and the bed was large and comfy. Teresa was also an excellent cook we really enjoyed her pasta dish! We accidentally broke one of the tiles in the bathroom during our stay and Teresa was really understanding and we really appreciated that. The wifi was also very reliable.
There wasn't anything we didn't like. One thing to note but it didn't bother us is that there is no hot water.

The home stay is amazing and not located in a crowded area with hostels. Teresa, the owner, is such a smart and lovely person. Her animals (dogs, cats, chicken) are amazing too.

The lady that runs the place is very nice! She makes you feel at home and help you with whatever you need. Her kindness feels genuine. The kitchen was impeccable! They have all the utensils for you to cook.
It’s not really beach front, or not that many big areas to chill

Teresa is a wonderful host, so sweet and helpful, not to mention an incredible cook.
The room was beautifully decorated, modern and very comfortable.
Slightly patchy wifi but mostly worked well,
Quite remote location so if you don’t drive make sure you check the bus schedules as you will be relying on this.

Theresa is a little Gem! She is very helpful and cooks very nice food, the services she offers are perfect and healthy, the animals in an around her place is special! We seen a baby snake and frogs in her garden (she shown us a little garden tour!) the rooms were so clean and huge spacey bathroom and room with nice new decor, very comfortable beds!, with amazing pillows and 2 to choose from! It felt like being in a very nice hotel in the room, and then when outside the room, a homey lovely tranquil space. Would highly recommend. Value for money is unbeatable in our eyes!
Everything was perfect! I didn’t like making mess from the new construction of road being built outside - it meant potentially making muddy shoe prints🙈! But it’s out of theirs and our control so I’m sure once the roads done and completed it will be perfectooooo!

Really nice hosts and lots of cute animals running around. The room was great and comfortable!
There would sometimes be a bad smell coming from the drains in the bathroom in the evenings so would advise to close the door.

very nice property with a sweet lady and her husband who runs the place. just make sure to brush up on your Spanish as they don’t speak any English. They have some awesome dogs that run around and are happy too greet you as well. I like the location because I don’t like to be in the main parts of town. It’s still only a five minute scooter ride to playa mangoes, which is “the” place to watch sunset. From there you get to see the sunset over one of the volcanoes, which is absolutely amazing.
some people might find it to be a little more remote, but that’s what I look for. if you haven’t ridden a scooter or feel comfortable on one, you might want to find some thing off a gravel road. you can take a chicken bus or get a ride out to the accommodation but it might cost you a little more or take you more time, so do what’s convenient for you?

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely dinner and staff who helped as much as they could.
Location was great and really appreciated the information prior to the stay about prices for taxis etc. There are also buses that go past here.

This place is so beautiful and peaceful. Teresa is a sweetheart and serves great food! All local and organic stuff. Shower didn't have a lot of pressure, but otherwise rooms were very nice and clean and bug free! Location was close to cool places on the island (Cascada San Ramón, Playa Mangos) and is pretty accessible by scooter.

Theresa is auch a good Host. we enjoyed our time there and the breakfast is really good.
further she organized a scooter for us.
it is a bit far off and you need to take a taxi (20USD) to get there.

Casa Papaki was a great place to stay!
Teresa is a wonderful host! Feels like coming home away from home!

Definitely the nicest rooms and gardens in all of Ometepe! Beautiful private balcony and many lovely dogs living there. The bed was the most comfortable in all my travels in Nicaragua I think, with quality sheets and a comforter and two big windows for a nice breeze. There’s a few restaurants nearby but they also offer a delicious breakfast on site. I loved the decor and the place was spotless. The location is remote but perfect walking distance to do the kayak tour of the river. If you’re a dog lover and go to Playa Mangos to do the kayak tour please take a bag of dog food, I’ve never seen so many skeletal dogs, they will appreciate it
I only wish I could have stayed longer

Nice host, delicious breakfast, very kind dogs :) we could use the whole kitchen!
just be aware, that you definitely need to rent a scooter to get somewhere. Try to negotiate with the guy recommended by Casa Papaki - we heard different prices from couples staying at the Casa.

The accommodation is located in an Omepetepe village area, a little off the tourist hotspot. Very nice garden with lots of fruit and vegetables. We stayed in the upstairs room. Because of the heat it was good because there was always some air coming through. There is a small staircase with a view of volcanoes and the surrounding area. Theresa cooked us well every evening with typical Nica cuisine. We got a rental moped right at the house at the normal price.

Literally the cutest home. We had the nicest room and it was so clean and beautiful. The building was like an actual house instead of a hotel/hostel feel. Lots of cute chickens and pups running around. A really great host and breakfast. It was so quiet and peaceful.
this place does not have AC or hot showers. Thats the case for the whole island though so dont let that deter you :)

Both hosts did an amazing job being very friendly and welcoming. We even got a tour around the little farm and enjoy and freshly picked coconut!
The food was delicious (best Guacamole) and the room super clean!
it is a little far off, but we did not mind!

- everything is super clean
- save area (like the whole island)
- Teresa the host is an incredible friendly and sympathic lady that loves to help you out with everything
We will definitley come back !

Doña Teresa is a great host that makes your stay here very lovely. breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. everything was clean and the room was very spacious, definitely the prettiest hotel we had in Costa Rica
not much to not like
- shower didn’t have hot water
- location is a bit remote, not many options to eat dinner around

Big room, everything was clean, nice breakfast and dinner, accommodation is a little bit remote, but beautiful, there is a great beach bar with good food and the best volcano view
Dinner portions could be a bit lager, we went hungry to bed, but it was really good!

It was all really wonderful! I am quite sure that this is the best price/comfort ratio on the island. - Really really beautiful room: spacious, modern, comfortable bed, super clean, nice bathroom, a ceiling fan and a mosquito net in front of the windows.
- The cutest animals to play and cuddle with (several very sweet dogs and a cute young cat).
- The terrace out from with a hammock and swinging chairs.
- location. This side of the island you have to like and want, but we really did! It’s located on a sand road before a very tiny village. Very close to some really nice, calm and local beaches with cafes where people are genuinely friendly (we didn’t always find that on more touristic parts of the island). Specifically Caballito’s Mar and Playa El Perú. There they don’t ask for entrance fee and the people who work there are lovely. And if you do want to search for a bit more liveliness and people you can really quickly reach the beaches of Santa Cruz and Santa Domingo (more windy, but pretty), Ojo del Agua and the touristic town of Balguë. It’s great to tour by motorbike all around Volcán Maderas and pass by many many local small towns.
- Teresa was kind and helpful
Nothing that we didn’t like, but it’s good to know two things:
- it’s handy to come by motorbike (or scooter) because taxis to here are expensive and without a vehicle it’s hard to reach places.
- the use of the kitchen costs $2 (gas) and also for unlimited filtered water $2. However both prices are then for your whole stay and the kitchen is well equipped, so it’s not a problem. Just good to know if you only want to stay one night (which is too short!).

Best stay we had since a long time. Spacious room, nicely decorated, good bed, clean bedroom and really pretty terrace with comfortable chairs and hammock. Theresa is really hospitable and also a good cook. We had pasta for diner and omelette/pancakes for breakfast; all delicious. Location is good for visiting a lot of places but it’s also quiet. Scooter, motorbike or some other transport is really recommended. Truly recommendable. Gracias Theresa!

Teresa is such a nice lovely mum of this house. The rooms are spacious, food is great, setting of the house is beautiful.

Ver cute house. Teresa the owner was super friendly and the atmosphere was very familiar. The house was surrounded by Mango trees and other fruits in the garden. A very unfortunate experience.

This was my absolute favorite place I've stayed at in 5 months in central america! Where do I even start? The room was beautifully designed and we loved having a private terrace with our own hammock, overlooking the greenery. The area is super quiet/chill and the hotel is on the sunset side. Within a 10min drive you have dozens of empty sand beaches to choose from and several comedors. Doña Teresa is simply wonderful and she makes the best breakfast (choice of yogurt and granola or tipico, loads of fresh fruit, for $6.75). The dogs and chickens roaming around are pure joy. Perfect romantic getaway.
You definitely want to rent a scooter or better yet, a motorcycle, to fully enjoy the island. Get ready for some dirt roads.
Just FYI, bring enough cash. The only atm is 1h drive away in Moyogalpa.

Everything! You are living alongside Teresa, the owner and cook, and she is the nicest lady with THE BEST gallo pinto for desayuno. The pancakes are also great! She only speaks Spanish but is always willing to listen and help out, even if she has to wait for you to translate everything on your phone first.
The room we stayed in was MASSIVE. I liked everything about it: furnishing, how clean it was, etc.
The only thing I would point out is that the wifi was not fast enough for me to conduct work / meetings. But for that we hopped on our bike and went over to Cafe Campestre which has great food and wifi.

What an amazing place. Such lovely owners and the room with the balcony is so beautiful and has a personal touch! Lovely dogs, fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden and the yummiest homecooked food. Can highly recommend staying there! It's even much nicer than on the photos.
Everything was perfect! Be aware that the location is quite remote - for us this was perfect, but you need a scooter to get around the island.

Great place run by a very lovely older lady. She made us breakfast and even got up early when we had to leave.
Security is great but a bit much. This isn't the place to be going in and out of after normal hours. I left extremely early to go hiking and had a bit difficulty figuring the keys.

Very nice place with exeptional friendly hosts. There are dogs on the property, but they immediately accepted us and were very cute. They even followed us on a walk through the region as they were ours. Breakfast and dinner is possible upon request, and it's delicious :) The ingredients for our dinner has been fully grown on the property, which was very nice! Even though we didn't really speak spanish, Teresa was very helpful with any matter and showed a huge load of patency. The room was cozy and clean, we felt save and kinda at home :)

Teresa is a nice person and she took care of us and our stuff. She cooked for us in the evening and prepared breakfast for us, no matter if we ordered different dishes. She has a rooftop where you can see perfectly the volcano and the surrounding and the stars in the night.

Our favourite place in Nicaragua 11/10. Lovely doña Teresa made us feel like at home. She prepares homemade breakfast, bakes bread, fresh juice. Super clean bathroom And room, very nice design. Good location if you have a scooter, close to the beach, very calm place. It was perfect (we extended our stay) and we will be back.
