It was an unexpected Oasis

We felt we lucked out when we booked this little hotel. The location was excellent at the top of the hill away from the noise and tourists. The art and gardens and river made for an attractive buffer against the business of the city. The hotel was super helpful, allowing us to check in early before we headed to Manchu picchu.

Very nice staff and friendly workers.

We did not stay at this property. They gave a room at Hotel Tara which probably they owned too. They told us the room was an upgrade from the one I reserved.

I didn't like the 3 floors to my room. The hotel is on a long incline which means you need to hike a small hill then go up 3 floors.

Good staff but did not have crib as promised

The room was large and spacious. The staffs are all kind, helpful and very professional.

When we booked the hotel we made sure that they have a crib available for us and they confirmed it. However when we arrived, we were told that there were no cribs. I was quite upset about this as this could have been very problematic. We ended up having our son sleep in the same bed with us which we’ve never done before. This was very unprofessional of the hotel and was an issue that could have been avoided.

very pleasant for location

perfect location and breakfast was provided in the morning with the option of a takeaway box of leaving early too.

our bathroom smelt damp the whole time, nor did the hot water actually run.. no windows in the bathroom to air it out

It's ok, but overpriced. But the whole town is like that.

The Location is great.

The rooms are very small, we had a column in the middle and had almost no room for anything

Very confortable. We loved it.

Super confortable bad, good water pressure to take a relaxing shower. Silent spot. Good breakfast. Kind staffs. They took care of our luggage while we went to Machu Picchu

A little bit far from the train station if you are going up. That wasn't a big problem but surprised us.

Perfect stay in Aqua Calientes 😍

Just Perfect after along journey from Cusco. The Staff is polite and accommodating. We got free upgrade from double room to suite room. But first they show us both rooms. Both are very clean and nice. Just the suite is bigger. There's hot strong shower 😍. They provide shampoo and conditioner in toilet container which is good, not in sachet like other places we stay. White cotton towels. The bed is very clean and comfortable. Well lighted room. The view of the room is also nice 😍. We really rested well even we arrived afternoon and leave at 6:00am. Because we can't get our breakfast they packed us breakfast to go for our journey. Simple but its really nice. We highly recommended this hotel. Look, feel and smell very clean room. Thank you

The friendliest staff, a great stay for our time in town.

The staff were SO friendly and accommodating. The location of the hotel was beautiful, right on the river, and close to downtown. I felt safe at all times of the day and night. I would highly recommend this place to anyone planning on coming to Aguas Calientes.

The location of the falls in relation to the hotel did make the room/drapes smell a bit musty. I didn't have as much of an issue with this, but my husband is sensitive to smells so he had a harder time with it.

Best hotel in Aguas Calientes

The quality of the hotel was much more that we had expected. It has perfect location: very close to the train station, bus departure point and the thermal baths. Breakfast was perfect & It is a must to mention the friendly and kind staff. The best choise for all is Retama Hotel!

Very good

I had a late train back to Ollayantambo and the wonderful staff at Retama let me use their lobby seating area well after I had checked out. They offered me tea during that time and had kept my bags for me during the day. Very kind! The location is also fantastic, and the staff greet you at the train station upon arrival.
