The Columbia River Gorge, with its mountains and rivers, offers the vacationer and recreation enthusiast the opportunity to windsurf, mountain bike, kayak, golf, ski, hike, fish, or just relax in the unhurried pace of a natural paradise. Historic buildings line the beautifully scenic streets of downtown Hood River, with a bustling shopping district featuring boutiques, designer shops, outdoor adventure gear outfitters, antique shops, art galleries and no less than 30 restaurants.
There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs.
The Columbia River Gorge, with its magnificent views make this a dream spot for a destination wedding.
Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's latest distinction. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves. To enjoy the view of "boardheads" at play, drive to the Columbia Gorge Sailpark or follow Second Street to the waterfront.
The Mt. Hood region and its more than sixty miles of forested mountains, 77 waterfalls and myriad lakes and streams are a rip-roaring mecca for outdoor adventure. The mountain is home to four ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding.
Please note, if you choose to book with this home, you will be receiving a separate rental agreement that will need to be electronically signed before your stay.

This is a wonderful 2 bedroom house in a very nice neighborhood that is easy to find. We were attending a family wedding that weekend and it had everything we could need. I would have stayed longer if I could have. It felt like home for a few days.

The property is in a good location, quiet and close to a small park and town. The back patio was lovely and a great place to enjoy dinner. The landscaping was beautiful. The internet, wi-fi and television did not work and there was no response to my request to have these things fixed. The house is cluttered with bric-a-brac and signs indicating you should not touch this stuff.

The house was very nice, just as described. The bed and furniture were very comfortable. The kitchen very well stocked, with enough room to store our groceries and things. The landscape out front is beautiful and the fenced back yard a big plus!! We are already thinking about our return visit! Really appreciate the instructions for the TV, we wish all places gave that info!

Sweet and homey
We enjoyed our stay here with a couple caveats. 1) the 2nd 'double' bed was tiny and squeaky - my 5' 4" daughter touched head-to-head and foot-to-footer, and her ~6' boyfriend had to sleep like a pretzel. (I see on another site the 2nd bed is a 'twin'; in any case sleeping 4 guests is a stretch. 2) the map looks very close to main town activities, but turns out set way up on the hill so was not very walkable or bike-able to town. 3) hot water supply runs out before 4th person gets a quick shower.
However, beautiful yard and neighborhood, well-equipped home, and sweet if dated interior.

Great place for our family vacation
We loved being in this comfortable home for five days, exploring the beautiful Hood River area, having coffee at the local coffee shops, and enjoying the patio in back for late summer dinners. The house is just right for us, has everything we need, and is well equipped. This is our second stay in this house.

Cozy house, great neighborhood and beautiful garden
Loved this artistic, cozy house. The epic treat was the beautiful and spacious natural wood gazebo in the back yard. Private and colorful with a great infrared grill.

may st home
comfortable home with beautiful garden.
well equipped kitchen, BBQ and amazing outdoor dining space.
few improvements would make the experience better:
- paring and meat knives
- the bed in the small bedroom fell apart due to missing screws when moving it, it should be fixed.
- the comforter in the small bedroom is too light and a bit old.
also quite a bit of dust under the beds and near the furniture, more thorough vacuum would be a good thing.
