Location is good and staff very helpful
The lobby toilets had not been cleaned from the previous day . My room overlooked the High St which was very noisy in the early hours with people shouting and singing outside the hotel .
2.5
The location was fantastic
Room 203 very noisy, noise coming from outside boiler / ventilation system running all night
1.0
Location in heart of city
Room smelled of sick
Cold shower in morning - reception said same for all guests as boiler off overnight, no compensation offered.
Rooms are tired.
All a bit grubby in public areas.
3.5
Central location, very clean and tidy,
Spacious rooms with plenty of tea/ coffee and a jug/ glasses with a water station on the corridor.
Extremely loud music from the pub next door until 3.30am, such a shame as we loved the hotel.
3.5
Location was excellent, breakfast was good, made to order. Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was clean and bed was really comfortable.
The room and en-suite could do with upgrading.

Good location
Got woken up at 7am by noise of drilling a demolition near by. Informed receptionist but very unhelpful. Also the room had a smell of drain issues in it. Spoilt my overnight stay as I wanted to relax after a bust recent schedule with work.
3.0
Location was great.
Room was ok, although a little dated.
Bathroom was a bit tatty as you could see all the repairs that had been done.
Everything was ok really.
3.5
Location was absolutely perfect and the staff were very good.
It isn't very clear when using booking.com if you got breakfast included or not.

The room was large with a lovely duper king bed that was very comfortable.
some of the furniture was a little worn

We ordered full English breakfasts, no black pudding available from the menu the sausage and bacon were over cooked, hard and inedible on both breakfasts, no breakfast orange juice only apple juice or water.
No fault of the hotels but a guest who was on the floor above was playing loud booming music at 3am for at least an hour and then again at 9am when you come for a hotel break at least want to get a good sleep.
2.0
The room
The nightclub that is under the hotel is very noisy between 9pm and 4am you can hear multiple floors up. The king size bed is two smaller beds pushed together to make it look like it is a proper king size bed.
3.0
it’s central location. They did have tea coffee + biscuits in room and you could help yourself to cold an sparkling water from a water cooler, which is not often the case in lots of hotels. Beds were comfortable, room fine. Staff very nice. Wi-fi good.
Quiet areas where you could relax. Very reasonably priced. Met expectations, nothing to complain about.
Obviously at one time it was a very grand hotel, whilst it is quite tired now it still has some of its old grandeur. There were no facilities for snacks however there was a small bar. I was surprised there was no restaurant for evening meals.
The shower was adequate but no more than that. Bottom bed sheet was too small hence it rode up leaving you on uncovered mattress a minor annoyance.
Breakfast was £18 and was apparently good, however if you are not a big eater early in morning that is expensive but probably the going rate, for food, chef and service. Being in centre of town it was easy to access cheaper breakfast snacks , restaurants if required .
3.5
location, comfy bed, shower hot
dusty, broken toilet seat, feels dated.

What a location! Metres from the gorgeous old town. Exceptional and spacious room. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. A fine place to stay in Chester.
1.5
Great location right in the centre . Easy to walk
Old dated building and rooms . Shower didn’t work properly and was far too hot . Condom wrapper found in corner of the room . So shows how thorough the cleaners are . Only one power point in the room .

Location is excellent to walk out into the city. The room was well equipped
Breakfast last booking was 9am for a bank holiday Monday ..... expected a later finish but didn't spoil the stay.
3.5
the hotel itself was very clean and well kept, brilliant location and staff lovely.
we were really dissapointed that there wasnt a hotel bar or refreshment area available at night time when we got back! there was a couple of bar areas but they werent open to our surprise as we had decided to go back to the hotel rather than stay in the town as we had taken our mum with us, and the town bars really wouldnt be for her! but when we arrived nothing was available, we ended up having to go out to mcdonalds, getting coffee and bringing it back to the hotel!
4.5
The location was brilliant right in the centre of chester town. We loved the variety of shops, bars and placeses to eat.
The most dissapointing was the homeless and alcoholics wondering round . It's off putting. it's a shame there's nowhere for them to go. Sad situation.
