Beautiful spot, friendly staff, lovely big room and bathroom.
Short taxi ride into city
Jacuzzi wasn’t working!
3.8
The bed was comfy.
Bathroom looked nice and the shower was good.
The tap in the bathroom was loose and almost coming out.
Random black marks on the wall.
Random bits of missing wallpaper.
Room was extremely hot.

Everything!
Nothing!

Size of the room and breakfast. The terrace bar was very pleasant for an evening drink.
Receptionist was very unwelcoming on our arrival even when we said we were returning 35 years after staying here on our wedding night. And when we complained about the dirty carpets she just smiled and shrugged and gave us a complaints form to fill in.
The carpets throughout were old and warn and very dirty. Looked like they hadn’t been hoovered for a while. Bathroom had a lot of black on the sealant, cracks in the ceiling, mould on the walls and cobwebs on the ceiling. Remnants of the last residents toothpaste had been left in the glasses in the bathroom and the room was cold.

Everything was excellent
That I couldn't stay longer

Loved the choices for breakfast, it was amazing xxxx
It was perfect

2nd room was OK, although the heating didn't work and we had to use electric portable heaters.
1st room had no heating and wasn't cleaned properly from previous occupants. Dirty linen left on the chair, cobwebs across several corners of the room and bathroom.

Great spa. Lovely spacious room and bathroom.
Dreadful WiFi. Weren’t made aware of service charge added to dinner bill until check out .

Nothing
It was dirty and rachel on reception was awful and extremely stuck up. Didnt stay in the end left after an hour.

Facilities were great. The place felt really special.
The mattress was horribly uncomfortable, when relayed to staff, there was no apology, just a ‘thanks for the feedback’.
3.8
The open fire in reception
The room was cold, little coverage on the bed, tiny room, poor water pressure, no toilet brush, had sweet wrappers on the shelves, 3 fans but no extra towels.
3.8
really nice location, really nice food.
the suite we stayed in was a little tired, curtains hanging off the rail, bathroom floor tiles wobbly and grout needs replacing. for £240 for one night it just seemed these little attention to details should be rectified.

The actual building itself is beautiful, and the bar food was good value and good service.
First room we were allocated was mouldy. Reception staff were good and moved us to an upgraded room. This second room unfortunately had no hot water in the shower, despite leaving it running as suggested and had a faulty electrical socket. Rooms needed a good deep clean - the arm chair in our room was covered in dirt and hair, the capret has stains all over the place and the lighting was covered in dust. Pool area was tired and also in need of a good clean.

Beautiful spacious room and bathroom. Great service

I booked for my daughter and she loved the hotel. Nice location and beautiful layout, immaculate, staff friendly and she would definitely stay again. I’m visiting friends this year in Liverpool and will stay

No room in pool area, only a few deckchairs, floor extremely slippy

Location , large room ,

Good size room, with access to courtyard, massive bathroom, shower ok, friendly efficient staff, great pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc, breakfast although it was good quality it was just about hot enough. Christmas decorations fabulous 👌

Rooms lovely, modern and spacious
Bar food basic

Lovely location
Very tired, old fashioned & poor service. Had to ask reception for water & toilet roll, not at the standard I would expect of 4 star
3.8
Matress was comfy. Building was nice from outside. Breakfast was ok
No token gesture even tho I asked as was anniversary, room was very dusty and not hooverd. Dead flies ans marks over the walls, 2 single beds pushed together when was told on phone it was a queen sized bed. Windows had mold in. Overall I wasn't impressed at all. Defo not worth the 100+ pound spent on the room. Defo wouldn't be returning based on that

The hotel was lovely and our room was a fabulous size and the swimming pool was lovely
Nothing

Staff were happy to help and very friendly , great location to the city and outlets , bed was comfortable and had a good nights sleep
It needs a huge makeover , mould and damp in bedrooms , there is no excuse for not cleaning the damp on windows, with so much condensation running down the wall it’s not nice to wake up to , I get it’s an older listed building but the place needs a deep clean and lots of paint work done .. the exterior is nice , the interior is very rundown
3.8
Bed was ok
Staff was not helpful. Place was very cold . Food was worth the money . Just a bad experience

Great location, close to city centre and Chester University Exton Park Campus. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious and clean. Just off one of the main roads into Chester but still quiet and peaceful. I stayed on a weeknight.
Gym equipment could do with updating, some of it was quite tired, worn and needed maintenance to ensure safety.
3.8
Big room with with nice comfy bed. Spa was nice. Lots of parking
3.8
Lovely looking hotel, Room was clean and had all the essentials needed. Plently of plug sockets, USB sockets. Hair drying and tea and coffee.
Unfortunately there was a Hallowean Party taking place in the venue so the car park was full and music and shouting went on until around 2am all of which kept me up. I was given a small discount as I complained but in my opinion not enough.
There is no lift in the building at the corridors are badly signed and lots of closed doors so very easy to get lost.
Some of the spa facilities were not working.
3.8
Perfect location, friendly staff. Beautiful hotel. There was an issue with our check in so we were given a complimentary breakfast and drinks.
There were only 6 beds around the pool for a hotel full of people. Really disappointing.

Liked everything.
