The room and hotel were clean and nicely furnished. There was a well stocked mini bar and plenty of tea or coffee in the room. Receptionist on our check in was lovely and very helpful. Great location for Highclere Castle and surrounding area.
The temperature of water in the shower was either stone cold or absaloutly boiling. Even when bringing this to the attention of staff, nothing was done about it. Very dangerous for anyone elderly or infirm or for children. It meant that we didn't have a decent shower throughout our visit.
No matter the time we arrived during the breakfast service, basics such as butter, hot water for tea, cereal bowls were not there and had to be asked for which meant waiting until the only person serving breakfast returned to the dining room. A general lack of attentiveness from dining room staff.

The room was immaculate, it was very clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and friendly and made us feel comfortable.
Unfortunately the shower didn’t work but that didn’t ruin our stay.

Staff very welcoming. Food was beautiful both dinner and breakfast.
Room was quiet, bed was lovely and comfortable. Pillows and duvet were high quality and helped for a good night's sleep need to know where they are from.

A very clean friendly place , the rooms are modern and great value for money great tea and coffee facilities and snacks provided . The beds are comfortable and clean the staff was friendly and the breakfast was beautiful
The only negative and only a small one was it was cold in the rooms there was a radiator but the heating wasn’t on so it got quite cold

Breakfast good, location for castle good.
Meals very expensive. Would expect better quality and choices for the cost. The on line website menu was different to pub menu and had to choose the only thing i could eat. Partner had to send his back as meal was tough and tastless. The mattress was hard ruined our stay and day out, no sleep and aches. Coffee machine didn't work. Very disappointed.

Comfy bed and clean room. Breakfast was amazing
Our room was very close to the road. The property backs onto a busy road so constantly cars going by.

Breakfast was good but choice limited, staff excellent especially the manager!
Room very small, shower almost impossible to get into to with the doors being very narrow, furniture well post their 'sell by' date. Dinner at night not up to the standard expected for the price.

Breakfast was good although limited in choice….evening meal ok, quality so-so
Room very small with shower only just useable due to entrance being extremely narrow, no wardrobe….open rail with only 3 hangers for 2 people, furniture old and decrepit

Food was excellent, staff very helpful and lots of little extras in the room
Quite close to a busy road though soundproofing was excellent in the room so not a problem

Friendly. The food in the restaurant was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Nice and clean. Comfortable beds. Nice decor
Bedroom would be improved by double glazing
4.0
good bar and restaurant, the food was brilliant
lots of road noise all night, and the rooms aren’t well insulated so you can hear next door
4.5
lovely bar, good decor, great food. attentive staff
bar prices, wine and beer very expensive
3.5
The pub is lovely, great setting, friendly staff,
The room was cozy but there were issues, the toilet didn’t flush properly, one of the bedside lights needed a new bulb.. there were hairs left in shower and coffee stains on corner of the duvet.. Small things but it showed a lack of attn to detail.
The cooked breakfast was nice but the continental breakfast was lacking - no cold neats/cheeses, no yoghurts, basic cereal choice
3.5
The property was a good location to Highclere Castle. The food was excellent, the accommodation not so.
The rooms are in need of a refurbishment, we were firstly given room 110 which is so close to very busy A34 dual carriageway we felt we wouldn’t get any sleep. The staff were very accommodating and shown us to another room 108, unfortunately I didn’t check the bathroom, the toilet was so close to the sink it was very difficult to use, so the following day I asked are all the bathrooms the same, the staff assured they weren’t so once again there was no issue and they shown us another room so 3rd time lucky!

No options for a lite bite late morning.

Nothing, all good
