I stay here when I'm at Deal because it is well located, has friendly staff, is a great place to stay
Can get a bit noisy with traffic early morning
4.1
Breakfast was cooked fresh and very good.
Location was fabulous right on the sea front
Parking was a challenge
Bathroom could do with an upgrade especially the shower

My husband and I treated ourselves for the weekend. The bed was huge and we loved the spacious room. The receptionist was really smiley and professional and the produce at breakfast was excellent.
4.1
Very good breakfast and dinner. Great location in centre of Deal.
Room(6) and bathroom were tight on space.
4.1
Good location in centre of town and seafront, parking nearby, friendly and helpful staff, good food, nice breakfasts.
Room was a bit small but adequate, could maybe do with a refurb. Couldn't get why they had different food menus for the bar and restaurant. We originally booked the restaurant but actually ate in the bar as the bar menu had more choices. Also, it seems they had a limited breakfast menu for guest where as their published menu for non guests again had far more choices. Having said that the quality of the breakfasts were good and staff very friendly and obliging. Not the fault of the hotel but parking can be expensive if staying more than one night.
4.1
Great location, staff and food.
The room we were allocated needed updating as paint coming off the walls. Quite dusty in places too. We have stayed many times before and the rooms have been lovely but this particular one was not unfortunately but we still had a lovely time.
4.1
Clean, comfortable room, lovely housekeeping staff, couldn't do enough for you, room well kept with clean bedding, towels, replenished supplies of tea/coffee, biscuits every day. Nice choice of drawers and wardrobe, working TV, wifi was very good. Good central location for beach and Deal centre, buses, restaurants etc. Staff on the whole friendly, reception always willing to help and you can ring down and ask them. Very nice tasty breakfast with a choice of items though see my comments below. Private and quiet room. Lovely view of the seafront from the bar window. Staff kindly turned music down for me when I asked them if there was a quiter spot. Bath with lovelly hot water and bathmat. Or shower
Breakfast choices were not properly explained unfortunately, I was not told there was cereal and toast/yoghurt, fruit available and sort of discovered for myself (I didn't eat in main breakfast room on first day, then second time had to ask if toast was available just for jam etc.) I had only been told about the cooked breakfast which I really didn't fancy at all the first day but ordered anyway as didn't know there was a choice! Breakfast hours very early , finishing 9.30 when on holiday not great. Bit pedantic but I hated the soundtrack that was on a loop in the reception/bar area, guess it's not my taste listening to Carly Simon screaming "you're so vain" when trying to wake up over my brekkie (clouds in my coffee I guess...)... Was disappointed with an evening meal I ordered. They did take it back and replace but the replacement was also below par sadly. Would have liked a quiet guest lounge area where guests could sit and read a book or so forth in quiet away from their rooms and the soundtrack. My room was at the top of the building with no lift but I didn't ask for a downstairs one so can't really complain. The shower was a bit of a dribble, it's attached to the taps and doesn't give much of a spray. I don't like the fact Dunkerleys is opposite a witchcraft emporium, but that isn't their fault so I've not reduced any stars for this, but this does ask me what i didn't like!

Superb location on sea front near the pier and close to the town. Very comfortable room with en suite including a bath. Breakfast available from 7am and served very promptly. Sea view from the breakfast room. Very quiet room.
The bath water wasn't as warm as I would have liked. The rail in the wardrobe was very high and difficult for me to reach.
4.1
Breakfast extremely well cooked and good quality. Location by pier was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable.
Good value for money.
The only thing I found a little awkward was the shower screen. A folding panel might have been better in the space.

Great location, no onsite parking, but staff able to inform us of where we could and how much it would cost. We opted for a budget room which was clean and a good size, perfect for us and good value. The inclusive breakfast was varied and served with a smile.
We were on the top floor of the hotel and away from the main rooms through a door leading to the restaurant toilet area, and opposite the boiler room which in the end wasn't a problem for us. As pointed out to us, we were in a budget room, which explained a lot!

Clean and comfortable. I had a newly refurbished room, which was spacious and comfortable.

Very good breakfast, comfortable room. Great location
Would have liked to have heating on for arrival, room was cold.
King size bed was 2 beds pushed together, a bit uncomfortable sleeping on the join.

English breakfast was heel lekker. Voldoende keuze.

Friendly staff good value for money. Food excellent

Excellent breakfast with choice of full English or fish. Cereal and toast available. Was excellent.
It was quite a climb up steep stairs with no lift available.

Room was clean.
2 flights of winding stair to be facing the bin area at the back, the staff looking down and questions ecerytime you walked in.

The room (number 14 fisherman's rest) was good and large, the bed was comfortable had a really good night's sleep, the bathroom was nice and spacious, the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet in the small hours and had a lovely breakfast in the morning.
Really liked the clean and tidy nature of the hotel corridors and all the lovely maritime names used on all of the guest doors.
Looking forward to staying there again in the new year!
The reception staff could have been a bit more helpful to have pointed out the correct doors that led to the accommodation rooms rather than just giving poor verbal directions, especially for those who were there on their first stay at the Dunkerleys.
Need more cereal choices at breakfast.
The doors that lead to the staircases that go up to the accommodation rooms need better signage on them.

The room was spacious and clean. The bed was HUGE and comfortable. Great location too, within walking distance to everything. I never felt unsafe being a solo traveler. The staff were nice too. Breakfast being included was great. The menu was limited but I was grateful to have anything. They minded my bag while I went out too, and I was able to check in early. Quite a few many stairs to walk up (I was on the top floor) but that was fine for me. I loved that it had a bath and a seated area, everything was well thought out and it had everything I needed. I'd stay again.
The Wi-Fi was a little choppy at times which was frustrating.

Great breakfast included and location on the front was ideal. Water was hot and plentiful.
A lot of stairs to climb, The wifi was a bit spotty.

Great location, some staff were friendly and accommodating .I forgot names to give a mention, too . The view in the deluxe sweet was lovely and grateful they moved us .
Beds were not comfortable at all. We moved rooms to a deluxe room as our shower wasn't working properly in the room we were given . But the deluxe sweet room bed was worse . It was two single beds put together with a gap in the middle. The shower again was old and dated, and we didn't have a bath plug and had to ask at the reception. Breakfast was good some days, and other times weren't great at all . My gf still had the water all on her plate from the scrabble egg , and she didn't eat anything . .

Sea views, close to the town centre
The dinner service was a bit slow and although the food was nice there wasn’t a great choice of local sea food.
4.1
Excellent location and the breakfast was first class
Too many stairs for more elderly people
4.1
Seafront location. Welcome private hotel compared to the big chain hotels. Breakfast mix of self service and waitress service for cooked food
2 flights of stairs. There isn’t a lift.
4.1
The food is as always faultless and great range, the oysters are a MUST, the drinks are not overpriced a pint of Peroni around £6, location couldnt be better right opposite the pier on the beach, pay and display car park 50 metres away, Morgan, Laura and the girls will make you feel at home and you might even get a beer out of the boss Ian!!!!!
Maybe one or two more staff helping with breakfast, too ka little bit longewr than needed too. but is worth the wait.
4.1
The location is perfect and the staff were very friendly
No parking the area is a nightmare for not being able to park. Nothing the hotel can do about it. Deal has changed.
4.1
A cute little hotel right on the sea front.
The room was spacious, bright and pleasant with two windows looking out to sea. Very comfortable bed.
The hotel also had an excellent restaurant and bar.
Breakfast was superb.
No lift so it was a case of hauling the luggage up a couple of flights of narrow stairs
4.1
Excellent location in the centre of Deal with views of the sea
Some areas are in need of reburbishment
4.1
Breakfast was good. Coffee hot and made freshly.
We weren't told to help ourselves to orange juice, cereals etc. Another guest advised us. Perhaps toast could be brought to the table on a toast rack whilst guests wait for breakfast.

Excellent location, clean
A little tired in places
