We had a really great stay and will hopefully be back again. I would recommend this hotel.
We had a great stay at the Craig-Y-Don. Booking in was easy and we were allowed into our room earlier than advertised which was great. The room was spacious with a lovely view, room for clothes and a great TV. We were only booked for bed & breakfast but when we had dinner the first night, we decided to have dinner every night. The food is very good with a different dinner choice every night. Served in buffet style both breakfast and dinner were very enjoyable. All the staff we encountered were professional and very friendly especially Keith, our waiter, who looked after our every need.
There are only two things that I think should be looked at, firstly during our stay the lift was out of order. For us it wasn't a problem but we helped and observed several people struggle with the stairs. I appreciate that lifts can present a problem but when people depend on the use of a lift to get them up stairs it should be not only well maintained but an arrangement should be in place to have an engineer on call to minimise the time that the lift is out of order. My second is the advertising on your website of parking. You advertised parking in the next street and when I checked it on google there seemed to be enough space for parking but when we arrived there was houses being erected on the street and because of the scaffolding etc. there was no parking on that side of the street. Better not mentioning parking or recommending paid parking near-by.

Ok, but probably too noisy and hot for us
Room was nice and clean, the staff were friendly. Location was ideal
The room was really hot, no fans available. The breakfast was lukewarm one morning. Some of the other guests were really noisy and inconsiderate

OK but not accessible
Good location. Breakfast average - Nice bacon, good service.
Not good if limited mobilty - About 12 steps up from pavement to reception There is a lift to 2nd floor, but then steps up to room. Also steps from bedroom to bathroom. We checked out a day early because I was struggling We weren't offered any information when checking in. Had to go back to ask about breakfast times etc

Great location, friendly staff, good food
Great location, really friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, if a little small. Evening entertainment was a little hit and miss, great one night, the next night the ‘singer’ managed to empty the room in 3 songs. Breakfast was tasty and filling, as much as you like, and staff were mindful of peoples allergies and other problems.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures you see in the website, not every room is as nice as you see. They have just bought the hotel next door, the Balmoral, and those rooms are TINY, compared to their own rooms BUT STILL THE SAME PRICE!
