Stayed here a few times now, and honestly the hotel needs an overhaul now. Roomsxare tired, carpets worn and our ceiling over the shower was stained from a I presume a leak from above.

Hotel was ok, some misleading info on the advert like states parking available yet only limited 2hr parking and then you have to park across town. It also states cooked breakfast available for 8.95, yet to get cooked breakfast you also have to pay a further fee of £4 for a barista style coffee or coffee from a flask with the continental breakfast. Otherwise room was ok but a bit small and overlooked the road making it noisy.

Rather disappointing. The room was up 4 flights of stairs, not an easy ask with a suitcase! We go away a lot and this was the smallest room we've slept in all year. That said, it was very clean and the bathroom looked newly decorated.
We found the electrics slightly worrying as the bedside lights flickered constantly, so we turned them off to be on the safe side.
Also there's no parking so its a 10 minute walk to the multi storey car park, which cost £13.95 for 24 hours.
Breakfast is only included if you book direct with the hotel! Which is bizarre as we wouldn't have booked it at all if it hadn't been on Hotels.com.
(Wetherspoons is round the corner and a full English is less than £7)
In summary, disappointing, because its not a straightforward experience, which is what you want when you go away.

Location was arguably the hotel’s greatest asset but was merely a highlight in what was otherwise a disappointing couples night away.
Staying in the self proclaimed ‘best room in the house’, room 3, first impressions were good.
Entering the room, we noticed a constant flickering from one of the wall lights - unavoidable if you wanted darker, more ambient lighting.
The rainforest shower head had large buildups of grim and dirt hanging from it. Thankfully, having a bathtub in the room, at least provided an alternative option.
We had no towels in the room though - only noticing when needed. This was rectified after a visit to the bar and advising a member of staff.
The kettle had considerable limescale in too, so much so it was visible from the outside.
*Note* ‘Apparently’ overnight guests are entitled to a 10% discount on food and drink bought from the premises. Even though we did sit down for late night desserts and coffee, this was not offered or suggested by the serving staff member - “are you staying with us this evening?” Would have been a simple pre-bill question. The same staff member did however help us with towels.
We found out about the offer later that evening, and highlighted this on check out, the receptionist frankly couldn’t have cared less and insinuated it was our issue and we should have raised it at the time (we didn’t know).
Tried to give some feedback, was offered no empathy or apologies for any inconveniences caused. Customer service lacking.

Sadly, I was led to believe that there was parking by Hotels.com - I checked again on your site, to see if I was mistaken, however when I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that there was no parking at the hotel. This was very distressing. This really needs to be rectified on Hotels.com as the hotel staff said that they could not help. To arrive at a hotel thinking that there is a car park, and there isn’t completely ruined my trip. I would appreciate a response from Hotels.com regarding this incident. Thank you

Great base in the heart of Stratford. Our room was at the back of the hotel which I think may be the best location given the position of the hotel. Room on small side but not an issue for us. Great bathroom/shower/towels. Fridge in the room very handy and complimentary water provided daily. Appreciated the complimentary continental breakfast too. Really friendly professional staff who made us feel very welcome. A little tired in places decor-wise but understand a refurb is scheduled at the end of the year. Only little gripe is the blurb mentioned discounted parking which is no longer the case but nevertheless highly recommended for a comfortable stay.

Small room in a very conveniently placed hotel for the theatre. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast with fresh and crispy coissant.

Gorgeous room which totally lived up to expectations. Lovely room for breakfast. Shame the bar closes so early.
Great value for what we paid.

The place was nice and clean, room was lovely. Main issue is that there is not enough staff. Poor guy was running around like a headless chicken checking people in and serving at the bar. It’s especially unhelpful when people ask him to take their luggage up to the room for them. The mind boggles as to how they managed to get it to the hotel without a porter but they desperately needed him to take it the last 20 metres. Perhaps they were exhausted. More staff are needed to take the pressure off.

This is a really nice place. Unfortunately the night we were there it was very hot and there’s no air conditioning. We’ll probably go back but not in the summer months.

Handy for theatre. Not like the change in dining room decor since 2 yrs ago, nor meagre continental breakfast balanced in bar ledge. Used to be served in dining room. No tissues in room. What a change in 2 years
