Location

Ceiling light fitting was missing so no light
Bath was dirty
Floors were dirty

Location is great, right near the abbey. Bed linen was clean
Bathroom was disgusting - dirty sink, substantial mould on the walls, ceiling and windows, mouldy and split sealant round the bath and sink, lots of dirt around the base of the taps, bath soap dispenser broken, you have to ask for your room to be cleaned (which then just consists of washing the cups and replenishing teabags and mil) which was only done once during our stay, 5 coat hangers for two people, bedside light not working, lots of chipped paint on doors, stairs leading up to our room and the dirtiest bannisters I have seen for ages - covered in grime.

Fairly Close to the event we were attending
Damp like mold on the bathroom ceiling. Shower head had lots of gunge on it.

Location was ideal for the event that we were attending in Sherborne. Ideally situated in the centre near to the Cathedral. Staff were friendly and attentive.
The room, although clean, is really quite dated and it is evident that it has not been refurbished for a good period of time. I fully appreciate it is summer but the cost of the room is really rather expensive and I only assume is for the location.
3.5
location, value for money, comfortable rooms, great staff and decent food
rooms a little tired and worn but still good value and very clean

Nothing
Hotel was booked, paid in full but not utilised
because my partner and two children were stranded outside as there was no means of accessing accommodation and no one to let them in. They had to book a different hotel 45miles away in the middle of the night.
I contacted Half Moon early this morning after realising what had happened. I spoke to a female receptionist who was very apologetic and assured me that someone from the company will contact me by telephone at around 9am today in order to arrange for a full refund. I've waited all day and yet no sign of any contact.
I am still hoping that someone from the hotel will eventually get in touch with me in order to resolve this issue.

The location was great. The room was very clean.
they did not provide any shampoo in our room.

The room was large with a lovely view of the Abbey
There was the smallest shower ever in the room , you couldn't move init, the hotel and bar need a good revamp, breakfast was OK, but we had to wait quite a while for it as their was only one mender of staff serving, we wanted a snack on the Saturday afternoon, so went into the and ordered a club sandwich (which was o the menu) we were told they don't serve sandwiches on the weekend, them ordering a drink we asked for a bottle of beer everyone we ordered they didn't have. So we had ti go else where to eat and drink 😡

Full cooked breakfast was good. The continental breakfast seemed a bit mean with limited options.
All surfaces in the hotel were sticky. Not sure if they were dirty or the wrong cleaner had been used which reacted with the varnish on tables, bannisters etc. Generally the decor, floors etc were very tired.

Hotel was dated and desperately needs refurbishment, worst accommodation l have stayed in
3.5
Breakfast was very good and staff friendly.
Cleanliness could be improved and it would be helpful if there was advice when booking that the Abbey bells chime all day and night.
3.5
Area was good location near sherborne castle close to shops places to eat etc.
Supposed to close at 11pm to hear staff shouting and screaming downstairs laughing and chatting until late.

An old favorite when staying in Sherborne. location is a strong selling point as is the parking.
Service isn’t what it once was. Closed kitchens and slack admin. May have to carefully consider if staying here again.
Tried twice to checkout and was ignored.

The room was fine, storage OK, bed comfortable.
Booked in for an evening meal which was fine, breakfast very good.
Staff were helpful and courteous.
No other problems to report of note.
3.5
The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
The hotel is in need of a refurb and an update. It seems tired.
3.5
The bed was very comfy and food was lovely. Room and bathroom very clean.
The pub interior is tired, no tea or coffee in the room and it was very noisy up until 11pm (I know, it's a pub).
3.5
Very convenient location as I was visiting my stepdaughter who lives in Sherbourne. Easy check in and staff polite and helpful. Room was very spacious and comfortable.
As it was a friday night, the inn was very busy with locals and therefore was very noisy until around midnight. However, I did not return to my room until after eleven so this was not a big issue.
