We booked a double deluxe room which was spacious and very comfortable, furnishings and carpets were clean and well cared for and plenty of hanging space and drawers. The ensuite bathroom is well appointed with good quality toiletries and fluffy towels provided and good quality loo roll that doesnt disintegrate the moment you touch it! These things are important. Our bed was very large and hugely comfortable with lovely linen feather pillows and a gorgeous duvet. Views from the window were outstanding. T
Paddy the owner is one the nicest people you will meet, nothing is too much trouble. He makes a great pot of tea too. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals, a vegetarian cooked option and oat milk available on request.
Richard runs the well stocked bar and is a friendly host for whom nothing is too much trouble. Both know the area well and can signpost you to places to visit and eating options. The restaurant offers pub grub with good choices; there is limited opening but on the one occasion we ate there the food was good and there is plenty of it.
The location is amazing, if peace and quiet is what you are looking for then this will not disappoint. In the middle of Dartmoor with easy access to everywhere but peaceful with only birdsong to wake you in the morning
An unforeseen circumstance led to us having to change our plans and we had to prevail upon Paddy to stay on one more night. Paddy was hugely helpful in assisting us with getting an emergency sorted out, and was accommodating with the extra night, allowing us to use the landline to make essential emergency calls. Thanks Paddy we would not have managed very well without you.
I will not hesitate to return to Forest Inn it has everything I look for, its clean, comfortable, in a great spot, and a warmer welcome would be hard to find.
If you like to be on your phone 24/7 this may not be the most ideal place for you. There is no mobile phone signal unless you go 5 minutes up the hill to the top of the moor. However there is excellent free wi-fi accessible in all areas so you are not completely out of contact. We had an emergency to deal with and with great assistance from Forest Inn we managed well. Dont let it put you off but if you need to be making calls all day you need to be mindful of the mobile phone signal.

Great little BnB/inn with a nice bar with plenty of choice. Breakfast and evening meal were great. Paddy even lent me his map of the area as I forgot mine!
4.3
I liked the homely vibe. Staff were all really friendly and welcoming.
I think it could do with some usb plugs in the room which would update it slightly.
4.3
The staff were lovely kind, and always willing to help.
4.3
Friendly quiet location with local and tourist visitors. Food was good quality and very fast service. Short walk to a beautiful spot by the dart River or a longer hike up to a stone tor.
Nothing at this price point.

Traumhaft schöne Lage mitten im wunderschönen Dartmoor! Netter Empfang, alles in Ordnung.

On my return to Dartmoor I chose to return to this lovely place. The Inn is a wonderful cosy place with nice rooms and wonderful staff. There is a pub with an enjoyable traditional menu for lunch or dinner as well.
The location is excellent, right in the middle of the Moors with walking routes and great views starting right in Hexworthy.
We love returning here.

The breakfast was excellent and served within a few minutes of ordering. Good staff.
There was nothing that I disliked.

We loved the Forest Inn and will go back if we can. The location is exceptional, the bedroom was comfortable, nicely decorated and clean, the bar area is comfortable and welcoming.
All the staff are the best you could find and they make this a relaxed place to stay. The menu is varied and the food standard is high. We ate there every night and had a very filling breakfast which was included in the price.
Such a quiet and peaceful place to rest.

Paddy was a great host for breakfast and booking into the inn

The Dartmoor bnb in the Forest Inn is a magical place in magical Dartmoor.
We had a wonderful stay and felt very welcome. it’s a great place just in the center of Dartmoor wherefrom we reached everything we warntet to visit easy and in short time.
It is really authentic with wonderful food and real people to meet, from guests to lokals.
Richard, Paddy and Cari were making the stay very personal, always sharing something interesting and were very helpful, authentic and are just there. They made us feel very welcome and at home.
Thank you so much! All the best for you and see you again.
Nothing.

It was a really nice stay. Room was comfy, big bathroom, staff were very nice and friendly. Bonus having the pub downstairs for a nice pint and a hearty meal after a long walk.

Very good cooked breakfast
Mirror too high in bathroom

Very lovely Inn in an amazing location, with comfortable clean rooms and welcoming kind staff. The inn serves a nice full English breakfast that can be tailored to one's preferences and has a pub with great traditional menu for the evening as well.

We had a very pleasant stay. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was fine. Didn't eat there in the evening, however, the breakfast was very good. A big shout out to Paddy!!!
The beer I had was flat, but that happens sometimes. A shame but there you go.

Breakfast was good - willing to cook almost anything. Continental choice good. While it is listed as Dartmoor B&B, it is upstairs in the Forest Inn - an old but lovely coach inn. They are just uphill from a marvelous small stone bridge and stream area. There is a bar downstairs but the noise was not a problem. It is a great location - near the center of Dartmoor.
The building is older but not very recently upgraded. It shows it a bit.
4.3
Given the situation - no cook available for evening dinner Richard and paddy did the best they could

A lovely short stay in Dartmoor. Great walks and some local pubs with food. Paddy cooked us all a great full english in the morning!

The staff are very lovely people and I loved my stay at this quirky place.

The bed was comfortable, and the area was very quiet

Excellent location for hiking, good hotel and nice pub. I will certainly stay there again.
4.3
this cute inn is in the middle of nowhere and it’s the perfect place to unwind. no phone reception (but of course, you can connect to WiFi) crazy picturesque walks to and from the inn, which beautiful river views
thanks to Paddy, I didn’t go to bed on an empty stomach
4.3
Friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable bed, brilliant location
No evening meal available. First impressions were not helped by the very obvious need for renovation of the windows and cracked splashback behind bathroom sink. A comfortable armchair in the bedroom would be appreciated.
4.3
Cosy comfy bedroom, good range of toiletries in bathroom. Friendly host. Lovely fry up for breakfast.
Bathroom a bit dated (period) but good size. Could be a little bit cleaner in some areas (base of bedside lamp was dusty).
4.3
I really enjoyed my stay at the Dartmoor BnB. Paddy and the other staff were really helpful, the room was big and really pretty, and they had a huge selection of on-demand TV programmes. Breakfast was good too, as well as the selection of drinks in the room (tea/coffee/hot chocolate).
The only thing that might be improved is a slightly bigger selection for breakfast in terms of fruit and cereal.
4.3
Although the location is remote, and the roads scary in the dark, the B&B is very welcoming, the staff helpful and the rooms very comfortable. They offer a good breakfast in a pleasant dining room.
On a cold night, it would have been good if the pub served food so that we didn't have to go out, but staff were very helpful directing us to an excellent place for dinner, and even called them to say we were on our way.
4.3
Staff was superb, very accomodating and polite. Would happily return.
