I had to contact the host to let her know i was nearby and was advised that the keys had been left for me. If i hadnt of contacted her, not sure if i would of known where they had been left.
The seats and sofas were stained, slight damage to the headboard in one of the bedrooms and there was some marks/general wear and tear throughout the property. This caused me concern as you have to pay a £500 deposit for damages and i didnt want the host to assume that this was caused by me and withhold me deposit. I sent photos via whats app as soon as i got there as it made me quite anxious and definitely affected my stay to begin with as i was constantly worried. Also, a couple of months before i was due to stay at the property, the host messaged me direct to enquire if i wished to cancel my booking through booking.com and book direct through her and get a free bottle of bubbly. I didnt think this was really fair, as i only found her property through booking.com so makes me think how many other customers did this. I presume this meant that she got more money but I personally wanted the security of booking.com. Also cleanliness was lacking in some areas, especially the living room, my 1 year old son found an old hearing aid under the large sofa under the window which i presume was from a previous guest. Also very dusty under the large sofa's. The garden is also not self-contained so we had to keep the dogs on their leads the whole time which wasnt ideal. Furthermore, the host has p/w protected the heating so it only went up to 18 degrees which i dont think is fair, as we paid a decent price to stay at the property to then be told that we couldnt use all the facilities how we wished, especially in the colder months.

The property was absolutely amazing! Clean and tidy and Ellie was so welcoming! Honestly worth the price!
Only thing that was difficult was getting to the property due to all the mud and it not being an actual road:) that’s all, we understand this is something that was out of control

beautiful cottage, beautiful interior design, great family size accommodation very clean , very well equipped. location and garden excellent
very poor lighting outside the property, would of been great to have the option to buy more logs for the log burner

Location
Each bedroom was en-suite
Over bath showerhead in one en-suite would have been better as over bath shower.

Everything was set out beautifully. The layout of the cottage suited my family.
The walking trails were really good!
The keys went missing even though we left them as instructed.

Location was idyllic, secluded, close to a pub and a short drive to some quaint villages. There were some great options for nature walks surrounding the property and is the perfect place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of daily life. The property has been renovated to a high standard and in very good condition. Beds were very comfortable, slept like a baby.
While the property is 'dog friendly', the barbed wire/electric fence of the adjacent paddock made me nervous in the yard. Our dogs are very well behaved, but curiosity still took them too close and on two occasions got caught on the spikes. It doesn't cost a lot of money to put a cheap plastic barrier to deter smaller dogs from going exploring in the paddock next door. BBQ was completely run down/broken and had no gas. Lounge area a bit uncomfortable and TV should be on an arm bracket - but that is being picky :) Internet was very slow, but I have been told by the owner this is being replaced with fibre at the end of this month (May 2021).

Very quiet and tranquil location.
Nothing.
4.7
The high quality of the furnishings.
The location, was lovely to be away from it all.
We liked everything!
4.7
Beautiful scenery and a gorgeous cottage.
The windows in part of the property were not double glazed and this caused drafts. It was especially windy and rainy the few days we were there and this was noticeable, but apart from that it was just so lovely
