Esta es una espaciosa casa de piedra con espectaculares vistas de la cordillera de los Doce Pines, la Bahía de Ballinakill y el Océano Atlántico desde una gran terraza de madera en la parte trasera de la casa que ofrece el lugar ideal para ver. The house is perfect for large families or groups, cosy, full of games and books and with stunning views. Lots to do from walking to swimming and horseriding. Somewhat negative aspect, but unavoidable in Connemara: you need the car atball times.

The house was really clean and felt very big. We enjoyed using th peat fire and Aedan was always on hand to help us out if needed. The price is fantastic for such a big house, in a great location with amazing views!

Excellent house and host
We were met by Aedan on arrival and he showed us round. The house is by far the best we have stayed in in Ireland. The photos do not do it justice. 4 bedrooms, all en suite with the master being very big with patio doors to the terrace. Picnic table and patio chairs made for some relaxing afternoons/evenings. We had use of the barbecue and given the good weather this was great. Large kitchen with loads of dishes, pots and pans with gas cooker and electric ovens. The kids had great fun in the large garden. Short drive to Clifden with plenty of shops and restaurants.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing break!

Photographers paradise
A group of 5 photographers used this property as a base for exploring Connermara. We found the accommodation was very good for catering for the groups needs and providing a great base to explore and socialise at the end of the day.

In the Wild West
This was our first visit to Ireland and we loved it! Amazing scenery, lovely people, some great food and drink and none of the crowds that you would find in similarly beautiful parts of the UK.
The house was extremely comfortable and well equipped with plenty to do in the local area. Aedan was around to offer help and advice when needed. There is plenty of information in the house and loads to read - a veritable library!
We will be back one day.

Very relaxing summer holiday
We had a two weeks stay with two families in July and enjoyed this beautiful place. The house was clean, well equipped and it was enough space for 8 adult persons. Although the weather at Irelands Atlantic coast is always a little unsteady, we had lots of oppoprtunities for sightseeing, trekking and enjoying the beautiful nature.

I have stayed in lots of rental properties over the years and I have never had a bad experience in any Home Away holiday property. This was no exception, you could not honestly fault anything if you tried. Things that make or break rental properties in my opinion are generally the little things. Linen, do not under estimate the power of good linen. A well equipped kitchen, even if you only cook occasionally you need a good kitchen, it has an amazing kitchen. The relaxing areas just felt like home, enough seating in dining areas, the garden and a general homely feel. This place ticked all the boxes and more, I and our party all noted how easy it was to live here.
Then to top it all off, it is located in arguably one of the most beautiful, unspoilt parts of the world I have had the pleasure of visiting. Mountains, lakes, glacial valleys, huge open spaces where at times you can see no evidence of human existence as far as the eye can see.
We were sorry to leave, and would love to return someday.
Thank you for making our holiday in Ireland one to remember.

We stayed at the house for 10 days and loved it. Connemara is stunning and we were able to easily get to all the great sights. Aidan gave us some fresh seafood from his business and otherwise we barely knew they were there.

Well equipped house in good location
5 of us shared this house for a cycling walking holiday. it is located about 5 miles from Clifden so a car is required but there is no end of beautiful locations to explore. The kitchen was very well equipped. There is an excellent store of books to read and browse and Aeden was a helpful host. Highly recommended

Comment from the Yorkies
We booked Crocnaraw Cottage not having visited or know much about the area other than it was situated within one of the most picturesque areas of Ireland - the Connemara National Park. We have to say that the cottage was outstanding with the views being just as illustrated and took our breath away - the shrubs have now established themselves . The cottage was adequately furnished and we were fortunate to enjoy relaxing on the patio - the views are amazing and Aedan was very helpful on our arrival and throughout - Janet having even made us some sourdough bread which was enjoyed by us all. We have enjoyed a number of self-catering cottages over the years and we can say that Crocnaraw Cottage is superbly situated for visiting this area of such beauty - we would certainly recommend it to anyone reading this review and are sure you would not be disappointed.

Lovely spacious property in a beautiful part of Ireland.
It was a lovely property. Very spacious and the kids loved it as much as they did the beach. The beaches were beautiful with white sands and quite deserted. Go to Omey Strand as the beach there is very safe with plenty of rock pools for the children to enjoy. To eat go to the Seafarer in Letterfrack where the food is delicious. We’ve never had scampi like that before.

I hadn't realised that the owners lived below. It was not a problem however as we hardly saw them.
The house was clean and tidy and perfect for the 4 adults and 5 children staying. Our small dog was also welcome. There was a small problem managing hot water but after speaking with Ayden (owner) I changed the timing a little and then there was no problem. The kids loved having the space to play and their own bathrooms! I went daily into the garden, which is huge but there is a pond which we werent aware of. The ground is very wet in this area so we couldnt enjoy the garden itself (the grass was very often too wet) but there is a beautiful large terrace tp enjoy instead. The views from the house are breath-taking. Luckily we had brought 2 extra chairs with us to enjoy the terrace- a few more chairs on the terrace might be a good idea for those larger groups. The kitchen has everything you need, plenty of cups, plates and glasses for large groups. Water pressure is low but you cant expect more so high in the mountains. All in all an unforgetable holiday was had in this beautiful, family friendly house.

Great holiday home
We loved our stay in this beautiful house. The views were amazing and the house had everything we needed. The decking area accessed from the lovely master bedroom and utility room was lovely for sitting and enjoying the views and weather. Close to Kylemore, Clifden, Rosses beach and the National Park. We really appreciated Janet and Aidan's welcome and enjoyed the turf for an open fire and lovely homemade wheaten and jam they left for us. They live in the separate basement apartment of the property so are on hand if you need anything but you would hardly know they were there. Thank you so much for a lovely relaxing break.

Great place to be... and to come back
Janet et Aedan, nos hôtes logeant en rez-de-jardin, nous ont accueillis très chaleureusement : ils ont su être disponibles lors de nos demandes tout en restant très discrets pendant notre séjour : nous étions chez nous ! Aedan aime sa région et sait faire partager sa passion et prodiguant conseils et astuces.
La maison de plein-pied est spacieuse et très bien équipée avec une cuisine digne d'un Grand Chef, un salon chaleureux, une bibliothèque fournie et des chambres qui ont toutes leur propre salle de bains. La maison est idéalement située et bénéficie d'une vue panoramique sur les couleurs changeantes de la mer et des montagnes du Connemara. Nous avons même pu voir des lapins et un cerf depuis la cuisine.
Cet hébergement situé entre Clifden et Letterfrack permet de jouir des plaisirs de ces deux villes (pubs, restaurants, magasins, animations saisonnières). C'est aussi un camp de base idéal pour rayonner dans tout le Connemara (Cong, Innishbofin, Killemore Abbey, Twelve Bens, Roundstone, Killary, etc ...).
C'est une adresse à retenir pour revenir en famille, ou même entre amis.

Simplement merveilleux
Une très grande maison particulièrement confortable, spacieuse et étonnamment bien équipée. Il ne manque rien et s'il manque quelque chose, demandez à Aidan ou Janet, les propriétaires aussi prévenants que sympathiques et chaleureux. Ce séjour dans ce superbe logement est rendu plus agréable encore par la proximité de ceux ci. Ils nous ont comblés. Petit détail, je suis en fauteuil roulant et toutes les pièces sont bien adaptées en particulier la merveilleuse cuisine...
Si on y ajoute la superbe vue par de larges et nombreuses baies, que souhaiter de plus?
Janet et Aidan, encore merci aussi pour les huitres et le saumon généreusement proposés.

Schönes Haus mit toller Aussicht
Wir waren mit 2 Famiiien (jeweils 2 Kinder Alter 4-10) unterwegs. Das Haus war dafür optimal geeignet. Insgesammt viel Platz im Haus, eine große Terasse mit spektakulärem Blick und genug Platz um Haus (z.B. für Fußball) bedeutet für uns Alle eine tolle Urlaubswoche. In der näherer Umgebung gibt es viele Ausflugsziele, deren Besuch lohnenswert ist und auch für die ganze Familie sehr viel Spaß bringt. Einzig fehlt die Fußläufigkeit. Man muß unbedingt mobil sein. Wir sind zwar einmal zum Starnd gelaufen, aber das war doch sehr weit und meißt über die normalen Straßen. Dafür hat uns der Vermieter aber herzlichst empfangen, hat uns viel Tips gegeben und war immer um unser Wohl besorgt (wohnt im Untergeschoß). THANK YOU Aedan!!!!
Wir können das Haus und die Gegend um Clifden nur weiter empfehlen!!! So soll Uraub sein!!

Fantastic House
A group of friends and I have rented this house a number of times over the past years . The house is a modern and very well equipped property with the added bonus that it is quite large. The kitchen is particularly well equipped so if any of your party want to cook using the beautiful local meats and fish then all the facilities you need are available.
The house is located about 15 mins from the local market town of Clifden where there is a selection of good shops and Bars. There is also a very good supermarket in the local village of Letterfrack which is 10 mins away.
We have brought a boat with us on our holidays and there is plenty of space along the side of the house to park it . You are within easy reach of all of the major amenities that Connemara has to offer, you are in the heart of Connemara.
Finally , the owners of the property are incredibly helpful and have extensive local knowledge of the area should you need any help or information.

Magnifique
La région autant que ce gite sont un enchantement. La vue du gite est superbe, les ouvertures sont larges et nombreuses pour ne rien perdre de cet environnement. Nous avons apprécié l’espace de cette belle maison, sa cuisine agréable à vivre avec mini chaine et CD, sa cheminée où Janet dépose des morceaux de tourbe pour un feu le soir, les bougies à disposition pour l’ambiance des soirées et une belle collection de livres. Impossible de s’y ennuyer et de ne pas apprécier. On pourrait y vivre.

Wonderful house with fantastic views
Four family members stayed here for a week and we had a great holiday. The house was clean and all the bedrooms being ensuite was a great bonus. The whole house was spacious, plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck having breakfast overlooking the mountains and sea loughs.
Everywhere is easy to get to and Connemara National Park is minutes away in the car and well worth a visit. There is also beautiful Kylemore Abbey, tidal Omney Island, a ferry trip to Inishbofin, fantastic beaches and great places to eat in the nearby towns
Janet and Aedan, the owners, couldn't have been more helpful. There is a fantastic book collection to choose from.
I would definitely recommend a stay in this house. Our weather wasn't great but it did not take away from the relaxing holiday we all had.

Fantastic Holiday Home with breathtaking views
What a beautiful comfortable house this is. It is like a home from home only better equipped than most homes. The kitchen is supberb - a chef's dream. The views from the house are so stunning that you could easily just do nothing but look our the window. I stayed there when the weather was mid wintery and mid summery all in the space of two weeks. The house was beautifully warm - albeit with heating on for a large portion of the day. The deck outside was fantastic when the weather was up to the late teens (18-19 even 20C). Janet has gone to such trouble to make sure that a visitor has everything ty need. Her bookshelf is so well stocked that it resembles a mini library. Hundreds of books all organised into categories and genres. Very comfortable bedrooms, all ensuite. Ideal for entertaining large groups of people in lavish style. I can't rate this house highly enough and I look forward to returning very soon.

a house that just missed being great
this house ticked nearly all the boxes.large bedrooms all ensuite. Great kitchen,well stocked.an open fire with 1st supply of fuel free.just a few things that could be improved.water heating was by imersion heater & was charged extra.we were told there would be enough for our needs if we turned it on for an hour at night & an hour in the morning. This was not the case & the water always ran cold.if we had used as much as we needed the cost would have been excessive. Also the sofas & chairs in the sitting room were uncomfortable.no support & very low to the ground.all furniture needs modernizing. The area was very scenic & Cleggan harbour is worth a visit. Fresh fish & lobster can be had when the boats come in.the kids loved the national parks playground.
