We had a very pleasant stay at The Chillout . Very clean , comfy beds, delicious breakfast, convenient location with beautiful views .The staff was exceptional. Felt like home away from home.

We stayed 2 nights in Ella and the location was just perfect. The view was great, room was very big and the staff very friendly. Close to Little Adam’s Peak and Nine Arches Bridge, it was just the right accommodation for us.

The room was very spacious and clean. We really enjoyed the hammock and the view from the room was great! The breakfast was also really filling and well done. The cafe at the property is so convenient as well.

Great location, big room, good bed and shower and nice balcony with hammock with a great view. Also the staff was extremely helpfull. 10-15 min walk to main street Path to little adams peak starts at the hotel and path to Nine arch bridge starts at the other side of the road.

Cool little spot on the outside of town. Gives you a wonderful view of the mountains while you hang out in the hammocks. Perfect location to walk to the 9 arch bridge and it is right at the path to little adams Peak. Also walkable to the town center in 15min. hosts were friendly and helpful. room was big and clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast option was standard for the island and tasted great.

If you’re a light sleeper it is A bit loud at night but that’s probably even worse in the city :(

1. My wife and I are vegans and sometimes it's hard for us to find a hotel with healthy edible vegan breakfasts. The Chillout Ella was an amazing find for us. They have really nice vegan options and are open to customize the menu just for you. We really enjoyed the food there. 2. The view from the window is absolutely amazing. You wake up in a warm comfy place with a view on beautiful mountains. This was one of our most memorable stays. 3. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. 4. The room was clean and quiet. 5. Great location. The hotel is located 7 min walking from the main street right on the trailhead to Little Adams Peak.

Excellent location at the base of Little Adam's peak and just a few minutes in a tuk tuk into Ella town. Superb views and a hammock on the balcony to lie back and enjoy it. The room had everything you need for a comfortable stay and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Bed was super comfy and breakfast was good.

It’s right at the beginning of little adams peak. But mostly it’s the staff, they even helped us with breakfast on the day we went to safari at 05:00. The rooms are clean and have aircon. If you like you can also have lunch / dinner or a drink in their own restaurant with a great view.

We highly recommend 'The Chillout' in Ella. We arrived late in Ella by train. The owner picked us up and we had a very quick checkin which was very nice. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. We loved to hanging out on our balcony and having a cup of tea or a beer in the afternoon. Breakfast was very delicious with fresh juices, fruits and omelettes. If you have the chance to eat dinner there just do it! The owner and his crew are cooking with fresh ingredients and love. We had dinner at 'The Chillout' two times and it was divine. This place is 1km away from Ella town but walkable. If you don't like to walk there are tuktuks-taxis close by. The place is very close to the nine arch bridge and little adams peak.

Highly recommend staying at Chillout Ella. It’s slightly out of the main town but well worth the 10 minute walk or 2 min tuk tuk (300 SLR). It’s right near the hike to Adam’s peak/nine arches bridge and has amazing views of the region. This accommodation was one of the best we stayed at. Clean, beautiful view and luxury. Staff were so nice and owner is so helpful and such a great person. Nice breakfast too! They helped us organise a day trip to waterfalls, our taxis to Thissa. Just all round great experience if I could rate this an 11/10 I would. Excellent value for money.

Wonderful view from the balcony and great location at the bottom of the hill to little adams peak. The breakfasts were big and tasty and the staff were excellent.

Our stay in The Chillout was just perfect. Most beautiful room and view we had during our 3 week stay in Sri Lanka. The kids loved the bunkbed. The room was spotless clean, has a fridge, hairdryer and nice details.Hot shower, clean sheets, towels, power sockets almost everywhere... The owner and the staff are very helpful and speak English very well. Every morning you get a very big breakfast with fresh juice on the terrace. The location is perfect as well. 2min tuk tuk drive from the 'centre' although there are restaurants just next door as well. Next to the start of the walk to Little Adams Peak and the nine arch bridge. If you re looking for a place to stay in Ella don't hesitate and book right away!

This was the perfect spot to stay in the hills of Ella. You are right at the entrance to a little hike (which was great for the kids 7 and 8 years old) and just a short ride to the town. There is a delicious little restaurant just down the road so we could pop over there for dinner even with a down pour and we even took the back road for a hike to the 9 arches bridge with the kids.

The room was clean, tidy in moder but at the same time rustic style. Beds were comfy kids had bunk bed and loved it. Shower good with constant hot water. Location is perfect. Not to close to main busy street with bars and restaurants. Will take around 10 min to walk there. The same as for nine arch Bridge or Ravana flying club, however tuk tuk will help to reach those places. Breakfast was good enough, fresh and tasty. Thank you for pleasant stay.

The best equipped and most comfy accommodation we had on our whole Sri Lanka journey: there was even a fridge, a hair dryer and a really good bathroom (We booked the most expensive room they offered on Booking, so cannot speak for all the rooms). Still, really good location for exploring and also nice and helpful staff.

Very spacious, clean and outfitted with everything that was needed. View from the bed was amazing, as well as the breakfast on the room’s own patio. Felt welcome right from the start - definitely a recommended place to stay at.

We were welcomed by extremely friendly and caring staff and the owner of the place himself who speaks english very well and gave us a lot of advise. You can really feel that this place is run with a lot of engagement and love for detail. the breakfast was delicious and as we could not decide between eggs and banana pancakes we got both :) we enjoyed our stay here a lot! Perfect place if you want to do little Adams Peak in the morning as the hiking track starts just in front of the hotel and the hammocks in front of the rooms are ideal for resting after the hike. We would habe loved to stay longer!

We arrived at Chillout Ella and immediately regretted that we had booked only one night here, we immediately wanted to extend our stay at this villa. Everything in it is perfect: and a great location - a little further from the bustle of the main street, at the very beginning of the road to the small peak of Adam and within walking distance from the 9-arch bridge; and magnificent views of the mountains, tea plantations and sunset; and a spacious, bright, perfectly clean room with the most comfortable beds and brand new linens. A room where everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The terrace with a hammock and sunbeds was a special pleasure. Breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the rainbows and singing birds - unforgettable. Service at the highest level. To the owner of the villa, Danushka, our eternal respect and love - we had a great misfortune in this town, and Danushka, a holy man for us, helped and supported us in everything more than our best friend and relative could. Thank you Danushka, you are in our hearts forever. Olya and Eva.
