The location was ideal for easy walk to town though the owner gave us a lift in as it was raining. Very friendly host, great breakfast cooked fresh, lovely clean room

This was my second overnight stay at carragh house. With my Mam and brother along this time. It is friendly, comfortable and convenient. I would recommend it to anyone who was visiting castlebar
I liked everything. The only thing I disliked last time was the coffee and whatever went wrong with it before was perfect this time.

The hosts are extremely hospitable, welcoming, helpful, and friendly; the breakfast - cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, and cooked Irish - was excellent with copious coffee; the (ensuite) room was spacious and clean with a kettle and generous tea and coffee sachets and milk and sugar; good TV and wifi; the location is just on the edge of Castlebar (on the road to Ballina), just minutes from the centre on foot (the train station is on the edge of the other side of the town)...
I would advise printing a short info leaflet about places to go/eat etc in Castlebar as upon check in I couldn't possibly retain ALL the names and directions I was given orally! (I should have requested an external/open view room when I was booking as unfortunately I just had a wall outside the window - this is totally on me, of course...I usually book hotels and always request this, but just didn't think of this when I was booking the B&B!)...

Breakfast was top class. I am coeliac and to have hash browns and sausages all GF was a real treat. It was a really great place to stay. Highly recommended and will stay here again.

The location is perfect, pubs, restaurants within walking distance. Des and Una are fantastic hosts. Rooms very comfortable, breakfast is great. I love staying there.

Comfortable, convenient, friendly, great breakfast, cute dog. It was exactly what I needed. Great spot to stay really. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Preferable to a lot of hotels.
I didn't like the coffee. It was drinkable though and everything else was pretty spot on. Breakfast itself was delicious.

We enjoyed the visit to Castlebar. We were on a trip around the north coast of Ireland meeting friends in Castlebar who recommended the hotel. The hotel was well located and suited our needs. Very friendly owners who provided excellent facilities and services.
The stay was great, and we had no issues so nothing we did not like.

Carragh House did all it promised - clean, well run and close to all amenities. Where Carragh House really excelled was the staff; they were exceptional, nothing was too much bother and ever interaction was warm and friendly. They do Ireland proud.
Bathroom was a little basic; functional but nothing special.

Everything ..we climbed croagh patrick took a trip to Achill island ..it was a great trip will definitely head to mayo again .8

Excellent place to stay. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Owners/staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy rooms and facilities.
We were staying over in the area to play golf for a couple of days, and if we are ever in this general area again we will definitely not be staying anywhere else.
Absolutely nothing bad can be said about this place!! Honestly a great place to stay, great location and even nicer people. You will not be disappointed or let down if you choose to stay here. Outstanding value.

Great location, we could walk into town for dinner easily. Hosts really friendly and knowledgeable. Very helpful in setting us on the right route for the next stage in our journey. Nothing was too much trouble, shower and breakfast more than adequate! Thank you.
Just a bit too hot at night. Couldn't open window as on main road. Very minor niggle I know. Didn't spoil our stay at all.

Des and Oonagh were fantastic hosts. We were told all the things we needed in a very calm and casual chat and they were on hand when we needed some other things too. They catered for our gluten allergy also which we really appreciated. Top hosts and a great breakfast.

absolutely lovely, kind, helpful couple running the place. fantastic breakfast! Very clean, comfortable room and a great nights sleep! We were in a jam with laundry and they helped us with that, too! kettle/supplies in the room. shampoo and soap provided. They also gave us great help with our travel planning. We felt spoiled. :) We plan to stay here again next visit!

Hosts Dez and Una were so welcoming and friendly with great local advice. Avid bicyclists and motorcycle fans they had great advice for the highlights of the region too. Hotel was well equipped and room was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices. Parking was ample with extra security for motorcycles if needed. Close to town for easy walk to dinner.
Seemed a bit expensive for location, but dont they all these days ;) i dont regret staying at all.

Simply the best B&B in Ireland. Des and Oonagh couldn't be friendlier and more helpful. They even bought us a round of Guinesss in the nearby pub that offers free sausages and chips at 6pm on a Friday. Breakfasts were excellent. Well located with onsite parking.
