The hotel has lots of little nooks that you can slip into. At one stage people started signing in the bar and it was nice to be able to go elsewhere so that we could chat without us disturbing them and them disturbing us. The location was remote which suited us perfectly. There were some great locations close by for walking and eating but you needed a car to get to them - we did not eat in the hotel as we wanted to check out food in various locations on the Wild Atlantic Way.

The water in the shower was warm but I would have liked it to have been slightly warmer - don't get me wrong it wasn't cold just not as warm as I would have liked.

The food was superb and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The radiators in our room were not working and despite promises of maintenance attention, they were not repaired during our stay.

Very relaxing environment. Loved the outdoor pool. Loved the large lounge areas where we were able to relax with book and a drink without being disturbed by loud pub activity. It really was the stress free zone as the sign said on the way in.

Just one small detail. Would like more vegetarian options on the bar and restaurant menus. There was just one on each. While the veggie option was fantastic and exceeded my expectations, I do feel that as vegetarianism and veganism is becoming more mainstream that a hotel of this quality should have more than one choice.

My favourite getaway. Wonderful food, idyllic setting, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. All in a setting steeped in history.

The food was superb, even in the bar. And the staff were very professional and knowledgeable.

The heated pool is fantastic but the surrounds need a little weeding and TLC

We loved the swimming pool, the comfortable atmosphere and delicious food. Definitely a stress free zone!

Fabulous location, service and food. Small film of dust above the bed but apart from that it was super.

This Hotel is very very special. The location, the ambiance, the heated pool, the great food and wonderful service makes it an absolute Gem 💎
