The hotel had a great atmosphere but the staff had major confusion when checking out as they were telling me that I haven’t paid for the room and I need to pay the balance, I showed them the invoice which I paid but they refused from there side.after calling Hotels.com via telephone I was able to resolve this matter, I was disappointed really disappointed as I wanted to attend my friends wedding but due to this incident I was delayed

We stayed for here for our first two nights in Sri Lanka - a lovely hotel in the beautiful hills near Kandy. The location was great for us to make the most of our time in and around Kandy - the people were really friendly and the place was spotless.

Very old hotel. Not worth for money. Smelly toilets. I had to change the room due to toilet smell . Friendly staff. Overall poor quality hotel.

Not a pleasant stay. Really overpriced for what it is. Very dated hotel, the rooms weren’t nice and the bathroom smelled. We would not recommend this hotel.

Checkin wasn't as friendly as other hotels. Rooms look tired. Nice pool. No elevator. Dining staff very friendly and accommodating. Exceptional breakfast with many choices

The view at the hotel was great, but we felt that the rooms should be renovated and the veiw at the rooms was not good at all.

No lift, bath room shower is dangerous for elders as it is on Bath tub

Food, facilities and staff are amazing here. I booked a superior room but they upgraded it to a deluxe room at the hotel for no additional cost.

The only thing that is exciting about this hotel is the view from your room. Anyone booking this hotel, should consider the fact that they charge an extra 40 dollars if you want the view of the mountains. I was willing to pay that amount. The hotel is up on the hill so the ride in the night can be actually a bit scary. If you are a young couple I will recommend a hotel in the town. After we checked in, the toilet was leaking. We had to change rooms. Our ordeal at the hotel didn't end there. If you want to eat at the restaurants, they have specific timings for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you miss the time, you have to order room service which closes at midnight. The other incident that happened was the cover of the light in the toilet came down crashing on the floor while showering. The bathrooms are small, the rooms are small. The hotel seems old and definitely not a palace in the hills as they advertise.

Very much enjoyed our stay, pleasant walks in the gardens, and trekking around the area, hotel guides helpful, pointing out the tea, coffee, and cinnamon. The views were stunning from our balcony, and room was very clean, with good facilities, tv , tea ,coffee, mini bar etc. It makes a very relaxing place to stay, a little out of the way, so transport required to Kandy, but making a secluded getaway. Great breakfasts, very large buffet catering for just about every taste, with bar meals available until late. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, all in all, and very nice place.

Facilities: Basic, Typical; Value: Acceptable price, Reasonable; Service: Good, Friendly, Courteous; Cleanliness: Pleasant, Faultless, Lovely; a little bit secluded, better to have a car if you want to try different restaurants for example or see other things than the hotel.

Kandy was colder place than rest of Sri Lanka , Amaya Hills apparently is the best place to stay over there , it is surrounded by very green hills . The hotel management has grown lot of flowers which complement the surroundings further

We were there as a family over Christmas. Difficult winding road up to the hotel. Great views of the surrounding area, with fantastic sunset experience. However, hotel looks old and can do with a fresh coat of paint. Meals at the restaurant were average.

Superb location, away from Kandy city, yet not too hard to access. Rooms are great, clean and well-serviced. So are the pool and table tennis facilities. The main restaurant has enough tables for the buffer breakfast not to become a crowded affair. What is probably less obvious is that their a la carte menus are also fabulous.

Staff very attentive, check in was fast . No time wasted waiting for room to get ready. Room 46 was a bit far for seniors,. but it had a lovely view,and we enjoyed our stay there.
