I had a very terrible experience in this hostel. Check out on hotelscom at the time I booked was 11am but at about 10:30am I came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around my waist to meet 4 cleaners in my room, all my belongings had been moved out. I asked one of the cleaners about my items/what was happening and to my surprise they said checkout was 10am so they have moved all my items to the reception. I went downstairs to ask the receptionist about the situation and he said checkout was 10am so I should move out of the premises. NO APOLOGIES. It was so uncivilized, inhumane and an insensitive act to take against your guest who was at least in the shower.

Deck space between the bunk beds are too small, room smells, space for luggage in bedrooms not provided

Hostel is great, one manager Sam is a very good manager, helpful, professional and friendly, the other manager is not good, not professional and should not be a manager or staff.

Set in a beautiful area of Haymarket, clearly signed, outdoor benches upon arrival for relaxing, garden outside behind hostel for quiet moments, large rooms with lockers and en-suite facilities. In-house bar serving multiple refreshments, kitchen facilities in basement for self catering, lounge area with large bay windows to watch the world passing..

Excellent lounge and staircase ! Bedrooms less so, two levels of bunks would be much nicer ... ensuite in bunk rooms v.welcome. Kitchen etc too small for the place. Good location, fine for the money, recommended...

Showers were rarely hot. The lockers require a pound coin. Staff unhelpful.

Great hostel, very beautiful, one point of improvement; the bins in the ladies bathroom were full for three days in a row. Other than that it was all very clean and nice.

Was placed in a room with an entire group of young men who were under the understanding that they were the only ones staying in the room. They came in at 3 am turning the lights on and being loud and said that they booked out the whole room. Its pretty frustrationing that they wouls put a single in with a large group when there was clearly other bunks availabile in other rooms. Large groups should be booked on separately or have explained very explicitly that someone else will be bunking with them

The hostel is far too expensive for what it is. It is a perfectly decent simple hostel but this should be reflected in the price. I stayed in a much nicer hostel the week before for less than half the price.

Really enjoyed my stay, but would recommend the hostel to have curtains around the bed considering the lights in the bathroom are automatic and keep you awake at night. But for the rest, great hostel! 8/10

It was quite and clean and also spacious.

I loved the area whee it was situated and the feeling of the building. The guy from the bar was very nice to check me in very late.

It was near the city so it is quite convienent, Staff were nice Only issue was the how small the lockers were, I wish they had bigger lockers

I was sceptical due to very mixed reviews but it was the only hostel left when I booked (end of August, fringe festival). It was totally fine though! Sure, the triple bunk beds aren't the best idea, but the room I stayed in was clean, I slept well, the room had an ensuite (shared with everyone else in the room ofc) and the WiFi worked perfectly. There are lockers in the room but they're riny, just big enough for a purse maybe but definitely not a trolley or backpack. And they require 1pound/euro to use. Luggage storage isn't even a separate room, just in the corner of the bar. Not as centrally located as many other hostels but not too bad either, it's like a 10/15min walk to the centre.

Need to change mattresses to hard like cement pillows the same , hostel ok and clean .

Absolutely 💯 Got nice room. Had a walk together. Cooked together as well. Staff were helpful.

Beds were uncomfortable. Double bunk beds are fine but three is not ok to sleep in. Mattress was worn out. Light sensor was only present in the bathroom but not in the toilet and shower so people ended up often in the dark. Room was too hot.

Terrible,charged me for my bookings twice and never returned the money,I had to request wrong payment from my bank.The same thing happened with a chinese student checking in at the same time as me.Not very friendly staff if you don't spend money in the bar.This place might be cheap but they will scam you if they think they can get away with it and the place is not very friendly to foreigners

I like the quiet area of Edinburgh it is in. The washing spaces did seem a bit limited and the self catering kitchen could have done with more fridges. But generally a good place to stay on a budget.

Way too many beds rammed into the room. Bathroom was filthy. Only toilet for men was upstairs while women had several. Kitchen utensils and pans were all old and scorched.

The location is convenient for the city. The room was fairly clean though not much space. Lockers quite small. Beds were three tall and quite shaky but comfortable enough. It was fine for the cheap price paid.

Excellent place, friendly and super clean and quiet. The best find in Edinburgh! I would recommend it to friends, and definitely look forward to staying there again. Well done, and thank you!

Everything was really clean, staff were friendly, comfy beds. No complaints.

Friendly staff, clean rooms with perfect temperature, nice beds and fluffy covers, towels for rent. It’s a 15-20 min walk to the city. Located near cafe noir that serves amazing coffee, if you choose to not take your breakfast at the hostel. There is also a kitchen if you want to make your own breakfast. The hostel is really clean and nice and I would definitely stay again.

Helpful friendly staff. Good location. Kitchen facilities a bit cramped and triple bunks very little headroom but overall a nice clean welcoming place.

The staff, the service, the environment, the funny activities, everything is perfect ---- but except the beds. I stayed at the hotel a few months ago, and recently, when I re-visit this hotel, those beds are changed. They were, in the past, two beds stacked; however, now they make 3 stacked together, which is very uncomfortable. We can not even "sit on the bed". The vertical distance between your bed and the upper bed is so narrow. Yes, we can not even sit on it. Every bad change. In the past, I would like to give the hotel a 5/5. However, the "comfortableness" now only worth a 1/5
