The property was beautiful, the staff were lovely, and overall it was a good stay. But for the price, I wish it was all inclusive. It made the experience a little less luxurious having to pay for every time we ordered drinks and drinks. I rather pay a little bit more and have it be all inclusive so things could be seamless and I can enjoy it better. Lastly, I booked the resort via their website, which took me to Booking.com and when I arrived at the location there were additional charges for tax and fees. It was mentioned in small print. However, once I pay I don't want to continue to think about additional expenses because all I want to do is enjoy my stay. These things made my time there a little less relaxing and fun. Lastly, we asked for airport pick up and those charges were not explicitly stated and it was surprising when we got the bill.

Amazing location, with every detail thought out. From the long, long pool to the individual palapas, it was clear that the owner had created a special experience.
Strength of the internet could have been stronger, allowing wifi-enabled calls to happen without interruption.

We liked everything about our stay at Samora Luxury Resort! From the food (wonderful) to the staff (amazing) to the pool (incredible pool) to the grounds (beautiful) and the beach. It exceeded our expectations in virtually all respects. Sammy the owner was there when we arrived and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful during our 3 night stay. We only generally stay 2 or 3 nights at each place when travelling around on our holidays as we like to experience different places, food etc, but we could have done 4 at Samora! ps -Dinners on the beach were a real bonus as well.
Not much. Food and drink is a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for I guess. We had a Superior Bungalow room which was ok(although ours was actually on the first floor) but if booking again would go for one of the a Beach Villa's which looked amazing as well as getting great sea/pool views and from memory wasn't much more money.

Location, ambiance, perfect get away for three days. Totally relaxing.
Lighting in the rooms and large double wooden doors keeping out natural light in the mornings.
4.8
location, facilities, service, everything was amazing.
nothing important but maybe other options on menu for dinner

Overall, a fantastic experience. Very thoughtful and inspiring design with attention to detail. If you look for peace of mind, a connection to nature, with high standards of hospitality, this is your place. Sam and his team will go out of their way that your stay would be memorable.

Samora is such a beautiful resort, boutique style and very private. The staff is top notch and the location is right on the beach! It feels like a luxurious home away from home and better then we expected!
4.8
The place is super beautiful! Amazing views, feels luxurious and secluded. The staff is amazing, Definitely let Luis make you some of his own Oaxacan cocktail recipes, they are amazing! The only negative is the food is quite over priced for what it is (17 dollars for guacamole, 25 dollars for 5 shrimp and salad etc), the food is nice but certainly not amazing for that price point. Also we were unaware they charged for the coffee in the rooms, that's usually included in most hotels, it was a 20 dollar suprise on the bill.
That being said, we would still recomend this place and return- it's so well taken care of and the staff is amazing! They have a goofy beach dog and a few lazy adorable beach cats. The pool is beautifully designed, and the attention to detail is superior. What a nice hidden gem!

The property is amazing and has great potential. The staff is simply amazing, they make you feel at home and do everything in their power to comply with your needs. After a week there I really felt I was saying goodbye to friends. If I’m back it’ll be because of them, no doubt.
Decor is crowded and overwhelming with unmatching items, some even broken like the orange lounge chairs outside, and cushions that add heat and do not do well in such a tropical climate and seem-smell old. Too many items on the room that do not allow you to set your stuff.
As I arrived Sammy, the owner, made me an offer for the Master Suite for 5 nights, which I paid immediately, after the third night he moved me to the original room and was nowhere to be found in order to claim my money back. He’s not nice to the staff, which I was able to notice being the only guest for 2 days and surprised me given the outstanding service I was getting.
I wanted to be able to tell him all this, but he was nowhere to be found and since he lives in the property, it looked as he was hiding from me.

The staff was amazing, the pool and amenities outstanding! The food also amazing!

The reviews are all true! This is an exceptionally beautiful property on a gorgeous private beach with amazing service. Sammy, the owner, treats you as if you have been friends with him for years. My husband got sick the day before we arrived and Sammy was as concerned and caring as one would expect from a family member. He arranged for a doctor to come over to the hotel, acted as our interpreter, and then checked on my husband several times a day for the remainder of our stay. The chef also was incredible- so concerned - making my husband home made vegetable soup to calm his stomach and walking down to the beach each day to ask him how he was feeling. The staff, always warm and smiling, are there when you need them, and at the same time know when to give you privacy. On our last night they prepared a gorgeous private table at the beach for dinner with flowers and candles without us asking them to. The place is beautifully furnished and decorated with treasures from all over the world. If you are looking for a secluded experience away from other tourists off the beaten path in a carefully curated stylish environment - don’t hesitate to book this place- it’s perfection!!!

Though each resort in Puerto Escondido is made of the same clay, Samora Luxury Resort is made from a different mold. Samora Luxury Resort tiene mi corazón (has my heart). Five stars, highly recommend.
Samora sits on a dirt road nestled on a secluded beach on the Pacific Ocean, some 25 kilometers south of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
You will find a collection of beautiful bungalows with thatched roofs made of dried palm leaves. Our high-end palapa was decorated with a wonderfully curated collection of artwork, furniture, and items from around the world; we were even fortunate enough to have our own private hot tub steps from the beach.
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by a staff as warm and welcoming as the bright Oaxacan sun. Our host, Sammy Gafari, invited us to feel at home; there is no check-in, no reception, no checks…just an overflowing abundance of hospitality and the feeling of home. I am so grateful to Sammy for his warmth, style, and the beautiful paradise he created.
Samora Luxury Resort is a new and innovative concept that you need to visit. I will absolutely come back to this secluded corner of the natural haven that is the Oaxacan coast.
Puerto Escondido is a port town on Mexico's Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca. Although it's one of the most popular destinations on the Oaxacan coast, Puerto Escondido retains its rustic and relaxed atmosphere.
The name Puerto Escondido means "the hidden port." I assumed it derived from the camouflaged bays around the town, but there is a more interesting story.
Legend has it that a pirate named Andrés Drake kidnapped a young Mixtec woman from the village of Santa María Huatulco. While the pirates were camped out in the bay of what is now Puerto Escondido, she escaped and hid from her kidnappers. The pirates referred to her as "La Escondida" (the hidden one), and they looked for her every time they returned to the bay.
I didn't like leaving. I've traveled quite a bit and stayed in some fantastic hotels, but Samora Luxury Resort is my favorite.
The location is amazing. The property is absolutely breathtaking - a true waking dream. The staff is warm and welcoming - they truly go above and beyond to make your stay unique and memorable.
Busy Zicatela Beach is renowned for its Mexican Pipeline surf break but was not my favorite spot. Neighboring La Punta Beach has smaller waves. Carrizalillo Beach is set in a cove backed by steep cliffs and is super crowded - they pack people into chairs right on top of each other. So I would not recommend Carrizalillo Beach, and I would check out Zicatela but would recommend spending your beach days right in front of Samora Luxury Resort.

To be alone in the place allowed enjoying the beach and the sightseeing. We loved the pool and the exteriores. The house is in a private property among other residential houses that makes it exclusive.
There are 2 cats and dog which are always in the seats and sofas in the entire property. Mainly in the lobby; my husband is allergic. The room didn’t invited us to stay: no glass windows, so mosquitos and noise. We expected a better room.

I had a wonderful experience at the Samora Luxury Resort, The staff at this property are all great! Gorgeous building!! Property is clean and has a fantastic, A hotel with a beach and a beautiful pool, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the chef they have offers excellent food. Thank you! Will recommend to my friends!

the architecture, the staff, the privacy, the quiet place
that is far from town and the furniture of the room

Food and drink at Samora was excellent.
Too much music - the location is so stunning, music is not necessary, and was sometimes annoying.
4.8
a hidden gem. the location is amazing, it’s basically a private beach all for yourself. the staff is so lovely and always helpful with everything. the chef is flexible and can accommodate vegetarians easily:) the front beach Villa is a dream! there’s also a quiet working space. thank you for letting me come with my dog! we can’t wait to come back !
sometimes the music In the common areas was too loud and not necessarily the type of music I like

An amazing place to stay, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break on the coast. Direct access on to the beach, the pool and surrounding grounds were beautiful. The room was superb, clean, spacious and avdelight to stay in. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and they madevour stay very special.
There was nothing I didn't like about Samora or our stay here.
4.8
This amazingly private resort is located directly on the best beach I've ever been to in my life. Sammy and his staff provide excellent, laid-back hospitality. The property contains only nine rooms, so it feels very intimate and exclusive.
We couldn't get wifi reception in our room, but you're probably coming here for a vacation so probably best to let those emails sit unanswered for a minute!

The location is great and the facilites superb. Most of all, the service and the attention we received from the host and the staff were superior. We really felt at home and were able to meet and mingle with the other guests, Quite a friendly atmosphere. We were celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary and they provided with an excellent dinner right on the beach with a view of the ocean and has a waiter always looking after our needs. And the food was awsome.
4.8
Despite travelling alone this place felt like a home. It was very relaxed with a small number of guests. The evening meals were around a main central table which encourages mingling.
The host and staff were the correct level of attentiveness, allowing private moments yet also being on hand at any moment.
The room was pretty amazing and the hotel had all you would want. Despite not speaking Spanish and also offering the challenge of being vegan, the staff and chef rose to meet high expectations. I especially enjoyed being surrounded by Spanish speakers.
I enjoyed everything.

All the food was delicious. Alfonso was extremely accommodating for our tastes and our 10month old baby. He made him an array of meals at our request. Luis is wonderful. He made delicious drinks and organized massages on the property. He does everything! Leti is so nice and helpful. The entire staff does so much to make sure your stay is perfect. We got to meet Sammy. Very friendly guy. He made sure we were taken care of at every moment.
We only stayed for 4/5 days.

Samora was a breathtaking experience. My wife and I arrived in the mid-afternoon after a long travel day that included a red-eye. As we drove up, we weren't sure we were in the right place, but truly as soon as we asked if we were we were transported to luxury. The person we asked grabbed a few more folks to help us carry our bags in, and within 5 minutes we were sitting on the beach-front porch of our room with cocktails and snacks in hand. The rest of the stay proceeded similarly. The food and drink were great, reasonably priced, and well prepared. The pool was just as wonderful as the pictures make it look. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the waves were an incredibly relaxing sound to fall asleep to. Sammy, David and the rest of the staff took care of everything we needed, quickly and easily, and the property dog and cats were welcome occasional companions. We got a beach front massage during sunset on our final night that could have been in a romance movie. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation on the pacific coast of Mexico, you couldn't pick a more perfect destination.
It sounds silly, but nothing. We loved everything.
4.8
Amazing place, Sammy greets you as 'welcome to paradise' and it is. Great and quite place to relax away from everything. The staff is super friendly and willing to accommodate you in any way they can. Breakfast is delicious.
If you are looking to spend time in Zicatela, consider it's a 20-minute drive.

We were treated like old friends. It's less a resort and more like your relative's place.
My rusty Spanish got a good workout.
4.8
I traveled all over the world and it is one of the best hotels I have been to, the place is beautiful.
The view, the place, the room, the garden, almost everything.

The staff of this boutique hotel take pride in managing and run the hotel. Great team

staff service was ok but not excellent
I am requesting a full refund. I spent 1,800 dollars in a property that sells luxury and confort. In return I got an open box of preservatives in the main bathroom, broken doors, others people stuff in my room, no TV, no Internet among other things.
In addition to receiving a room, the MOST expensive in the resort, in very bad conditions my wife got sick due to the tuna fish the resort gave her. The resort had to send a doctor who said she got sick due to the environment and not the food. We had to spend two days in bed and in the bathroom.
All of this I am telling you is documented with photos and videos, and also an audio recording from the owner of the property who acknowledged the room was in bad conditions.
When I selected that property on your site I paid for quality, confort and luxury. I paid 600 dollars per night. I paid that amount because it was an important day for us, our honey moon.
If you are reading this, I am in the process to contact federal authorities.

Only the view. But for the stay and price is not worth it
They only have a cook for the night, so the breakfast was all days terrible. Worst chilaquiles in my life. The dinner is good when there's the cook but We got better food outside. People there look tired, they were resting on the hammocks of our room
We had 2 mice in our place. We found out and they killed them to take them out. After it our sleep was awful.
They don't accept credit cards. They rather have cash. We managed to pay with paypal
