Continental Breakfast very good. Variety of cereals and spreads.

Perhaps the kitchen could be a little cleaner when you have paying guests staying.

Well maintained old farm house. Raymond and Eva were lovely hosts. Comfortable bedroom with ensuite and cosy, character filled living & dining rooms. The inclusive breakfast was a nice touch and good way to start the day.

Quiet, nice old vila, in the country

Raymond was a very friendly and attentive host who gave good advice about local attractions. Large guest lounge with no dust anywhere despite the many knick-knacks! Lovely location - very peaceful rural surrounds. And we enjoyed the multiple softly chiming clocks.

Rooms were described as having particular features and facilities (microwave, tea/coffee machine, toaster, air conditioning) that house may have had downstairs but were not in the bedrooms (and we weren't invited to make free with the kitchen, though I'm sure we could have asked). Bedlinen, towels etc were motel rather than hotel quality - though at the price we paid, fair enough.

Fabulous old house, v interesting history. Nice quiet farm animals that kids could hand feed. Owners extremely accommodating and friendly.

Not a major but prob needs a coat of paint and grounds could do with some grooming.

Weather was poor but didn’t fill the experience

Everything was lovely in this exceptional old house crammed full of antiques on a farm spread across a mixture of terrain. The host and hostess were really happy to engage and we chatted for a long time about the history of the house, farm and its development, current challenges facing farmers, world history, among other things. Those car fans will appreciate the 1935 Bentley, others may enjoy the full size snooker table on a rainy day. It was quite cool overnight so the heater in the room and electric blanket (if needed) were appreciated, as was the instant hot water for the shower in the morning. If you stay then I highly recommend taking some time to chat with the hosts - you'll leave better informed and feel more of a connection with the area.

This is pretty minor but would have been nice to have a TV in the bedroom but it certainly didn't detract from our stay.

Loved the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful old home with such a close touch of authenticity with the art deco period. Truely memorable. Lovely warm welcoming hosts which were fantastic to chat with and super accommodating. Tranquil to wake up with the various friendly animals in such a gorgeous setting. Suprisingly convenient to get to Masterton, only 10 minutes drive which goes surprisingly fast on the straight and direct roads. Just the perfect distance to see stars in sky and feel the peacefulness of the wonderful country and mountain ranges.

The fact I was so engaged in conversation I forgot to put butter on my toast with my spread and just carried on like that's the norm. It just diddn't taste the same!
