The room was clean but rather outdated.

Very comfortable, rooms above a pub with outdoor seating. Plenty of parking at the back. Would definitely return.

Friendly staff, clean environment, comfortable bed. Wonderful shower. Simple breakfast, but sufficiently filling. Free parking.

bedroom was cold (due to adverse weather) Could do with a desk and chair in room so can work on laptop, food very good and good portion and pricing.

Excellent sleep, had food in restaurant and would highly recommend. Noise in bar wasn't heard in room.

Staff are friendly try to help has much has they could. The room was average. No hot water, shower water was non existent sink hot water non existent. Room was cold. This was not a 5* hotel, so, was not expecting much, having said that,I expect basic necessities like hot water and heating. Personally, for the reasons mentioned above I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very good and the staff were cordial though i stayed for just a night. Also, it is situated around easy access to shops and bus stops

Good stay. Unfortunately left outside in the rain after we got back from a concert. We were told that a night porter will be on shift and we should knock on the door to be let back in to the hotel. After ringing the doorbell and knocking several times, we ended up being let in by what we assume was a drunk customer on his way out for a cigarette. No night porter in sight. Other than that, it was a great stay. Surprised complimentary breakfast which we weren’t expecting too. Nice room, very clean. Definitely good value for money

Fixtures and fittings need fixing and updating

I liked the fact that the hotel is a bar with rooms upstairs so you do not have to go out to get a drink when weather is bad and I do not like almost that same thing, if you want to get to sleep early it can be complicated. Fortunately they are super strict with the closing time and everyone in the bar is cleared straight so there is not noise at all or remaining people after finishing time.

Stayed overnight to attend a family party in the Function Suite. Checked in at the bar which was very busy and loud. Given key to room which initially appeared clean with tea/coffee, clean towels provided, TV and hairdryer. Room was very cold and on further inspection found an empty bottle of Buckfast behind a curtain. Only one bedside lamp which had a broken shade! On our way to the party asked bar staff for teaspoons for tea tray which were missing and to fix the heating. Given one teaspoon sourced from the kitchen and heating eventually switched after second request. On return from the party heating was off again and the room cold. In the morning we had no hot water from the hand wash basin in the en-suite bathroom. Cobwebs noted in the corner of the bathroom. Breakfast basic but adequate comprising of cereal, toast, tea coffee, orange juice served by the same gentleman who had been closing the main door when we arrived back from the party around midnight the previous night. We mentioned the problems re heating and hot water when returning the room key. Staff apologised and said she’d ask the cleaner to check the boiler. No offer of refund mentioned. Staff were polite and friendly but we can’t recommend this establishment. Ok for a stop over but not somewhere we would want to stay again. Needs updating and attention to detail.

Great staff, great room, very clean and unfortunately I lost my wallet but I phoned up and they had found it and managed to get it back, very helpful and will definitely be back, food was delicious too !!

Accommodation a bit tired, but alright fir a budget price.

Preferred my room with bathroom 2nd night I was in a room with shared bathroom other than that room was clean and comfy

On arrival we were handed a key and told to go through a door and the room was upstairs, no very clearly marked on the key what the room number was. On entering the room it looked basic but clean bedding, on inspection there was no mattress protectors, there were clean towels but when having a shower there was no hooks or place to put your towel so had to balance it on the toilet seat. There was no where to put the hand towel either, poor! On further inspection there was mountains of dust behind the beds and on top of the on-suite, so much it would be classified as a fire risk and if like myself you have a lung condition you will find yourself with a tight chest and wheezing - health risk. The manager at the hotel was very apologetic and didn’t try to give excuses which I found quite refreshing. The breakfast was not acceptable, there was no dairy free options and then when we went to get our coffee it was instant.

Terrible service had to wait half an hour for night porter to let me in bar staff ignored me ringing the bell as they sat at the bar drinking it was midnight, not a good experience.

Excellent wee hotel great for am overnight as we were at a 60th birthday celebration at the hotel. Staff so helpful and friendly , will go back x

the room very small, could not move chair at desk without moving both beds, could not see tv from either bed, and very small, sink in room had very loose hot tap, scared to turn on. Shared bathrooms were just not palatable to use, and single toilet so small I almost wrenched my shoulder out. Breakfast ok

From the moment we entered the staff were exceptional, a prompt check-in with staff going out of their way to ensure we didn't have to wait. Came down to enjoy a drink in the bar with prompt and friendly service, great food deals on through the week and unfortunately not realising this we'd already ate but the food looked amazing and a guest we met who's chicken dinner looked amazing couldn't rate the food high enough. Breakfast was a simple continental, cereal, fruit, toast and tea/coffee with juice. The room was all we needed. Basic although low on sockets. Shower was good, location perfect for us. Bus or taxis into the centre. Great value and staff.

Booked hotel to attend a wedding close by. Easy check in, rooms have everything you need for an overnight stay, continental breakfast included in stay and can purchase a cooked breakfast after 10. Food and drink rates very reasonable. £10 to take a taxi into town. All in all very happy. Would definitely stay again

It was a Saturday night stay, therefore it was a bit loud during the night until before midnight. The room is facing the Main Street with a bit of traffic throughout the whole night and is noisy if with windows open.

2 single beds in room if I turned over I’d have fell out

Great stay. The breakfast could have been better as there was no cooked breakfast for free even though it states that breakfast is included.

Very convenient for my business trip. Staff were very attentive and meal selection was good with only problem being it could have been slightly warmer. Main thing is that i would use it again.
