Hosts were very helpful and pleasant. Very nice couple. Wi-Fi was excellent. Very clean, spacious and functional. Balcony where we ate breakfast had a good vibe with the garden view and morning sun. Overall, we were glad to have stayed there and we’ll stay again and for sure to tell friends and family about how wonderful this place was. Transfer to the airport was a good deal.

The Golden Pension House is a hidden gem! It is in a nondescript neighborhood but close to the airport and shops and restaurants and the property itself is secure, nicely appointed and VERY clean and up-to-date. This was our first stay in the Philippines that was well-lit and provided adequate towel racks. We loved that it had a fridge an a kitchen sink and pot to boil water. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated the free pick-up from the airiport and when we offered a tip, the driver refused, saying it's okay; it's free! Breakfast was made to order and delivered promptly at the requested time and there was a nice, clean little table on the front patio where we were able to enjoy eating it. Our host offered and booked for us a shared van transport to El Nido for a reasonable price and they picked us up right there at the property. Not the fault of the hosts, but the van ride was very crowded, everyone's luggage barely fit and the driver drove VERY fast and recklessly. It was a harrowing trip and the drive made two stops that seemed excessively long. Again, this was an issue with the van company, not the property or the hosts. The only issue was that the beds were hard and although sheets were provided, we could have used a blanket as well. Overall, a very comfortable and pleasant place to stay! We would definitely stay again.

This is a 4 star review for a very short overnight stay. Room: comfortable bed with strong air conditioning. Working fridge. Bathroom did not have any soap at all, only shampoo(?). This costs pennies and is expected at all times in hotel. There was no water bottle provided in the room which is a first for our stays in Southeast Asia. The room was spotless. With just a bit of improvement on stocking the room to a five star standard this hotel will be five stars at its price point. Service: such amazing service I almost rate five stars despite the lackings in the room. The airport pickup was prompt and very appreciated. My partner forgot his passport on the plane and they were so kind to drive him back in a panic so that he could get it back before our early next day departure. The breakfast is delicious including sausage, rice, bread, and eggs. The coffee is instant but I thought it was some of the best instant coffee I’ve ever had. They organized a transfer to El Nido for us and it was a good price but I had a problem as I am incredibly tall and we were the last to arrive to the pickup point and had the worst seats in the front middle next to the driver. All of this despite leaving at 7:50 when we were told it was at 8-9am the night before. I think the hotel should help its guests arrive early enough to get good seats, and when they receive commission on a booking, it should be done so that their guests can be comfortable and arrive on time for good seats.

Oh what can I say. It’s an excellent place to stay. The cleanliness and the food is superb. They’ll even ask you how do you like the eggs cooked. You can tell them what time do you want your breakfast, they will bring it up to your room complete with coffee and hot thermos. It’s being run by a family, they picked us up from the airport for free with their new SUV. I’m sure they can drop you off too. In our case we travelled onwards El Nido. Our transport was also arranged by them, PHP600 per head, a shared van that dropped us too all the way to our ElNido hotel door. The couple arranged all our Puerto Princesa tours in our case we went to the most popular tour, Underground cave river tour and firefly watching. All meals are included on this tours. This couple is very kind. Just ask whatever you need, they’ll help you find it. I can’t wait to return again.

The service was beyond expectation. They will help you to book any tour you prefer and they will pick and drop you off at the airport. The place is very clean too.

The rooms are very spacious and you get breakfast in the morning. Its a short walk down the alleyway to the main street and there are tons of restaurants nearby. They also will pick you up or take you too the airport which is super helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Owners are a gem! Superb service, super room with very good wifi, large bathroom, very quiet setting. Road leading to place leaves much to be desired but not the fault of the owners. Tricycle access on the short corner of it can bring u to SM Mall or u can just take a walk to it. Long walking rocky road on the other corner brinfs u to a main road which has lots of retail stores/restaurant/short walk to a Dunkin Donut store. We hope to be back to this place next yr...well no, we WILL be back at this place next yr!

I stayed here because of the reviews I saw and the pricing. The reviews are well deserved. This place is clean, safe and well token care of. The breakfast was brought right to my door at the time I requested, cooked in house and excellent. the only thing I found was the maps show the property about 2 blocks away from where it actually is. So I dropped a pin when I got to the hotel so I could find my way back. The roadways coming into the property are very narrow so pay close attention to their location and the last 100m is gravel so be careful at night not to trip on the uneven ground. SM mall is close easily walkable and laundry is only a block away. Both Shakeys pizza and Jollibee are very close. I would definitely stay here again.

The house is great and the couple who runs the place is very nice. Very clean and close to main street. Felt like home. My flight was 5:30 am and she woke up to serve me breakfast! Thank you so much!

Don't let the road to this place fool you, the house was impeccably clean, the staff was the best around, the location was great, and they even made us a simple breakfast, booked our tour, and took us to the airport (which is very close) I highly recommend this place! Cleanest stay in the Philippines for us, and a great price too!

The place is very nice. Room is neat, clean, spacious and spotless. Bed is very comfortable. Perfect location, walking distance to restaurants/bars, mall and businesses. The staff are courteous, kind and hospitable. The internet wifi is excellent. Breakfast is good and delicious. I would surely recommend this best place to stay in Puerto Princesa City.
