Very nice cabin on a beautifull location

The location was beautiful, the view outside the window with the sunset was amazing and the hummingbird garden was lovely.

We had booked the superior bungalow hoping to treat ourselves after longer hiking trips. Unfortunately when filling the hot-tub the hot water boiler gave up with a loud bang, the people from the reception came down to check on it who later advised us that it was fixed. Later before sleep we found out that we had lost warm/hot water fully. The outside temperature overnight was +9 degrees celsius and only having ice cold water was very uncomfortable, additionally it was not possible to turn on all three heaters provided in the room without the electricity of the room fully shutting down. Our view was over the car park which also was not necessary what was advertised in the pictures and our room was not ready when we arrived at 4:00pm even tho we had messaged the property of our arrival time.

The cabins are rustic and comfortable. not luxury but that is not what we wanted. The property is beautiful. The staff is fantastic; very helpful and friendly. Great value for the money.

The beds and rooms are a bit spare but suited us just fine.

We loved the property and location and Sunset view !! But the problem was the beds in room 5 were rock hard so neither my husband or I got any sleep. Bed comfort is the most important part of a stay! Everything else was great 😊

The gardens were beautiful and there were many species of birds to be seen from the viewing areas. The staff were very helpful and there are a number of trails that can be accessed from the site. The evening meal was enjoyable. We didn't have breakfast.

I know it was an eco lodge but in reality it was a shed that drafty and extremely cold, even with all the extra blankets provided. Not really fit for purpose if your planning on staying high up in the mountains.

The birding and the views

The gardens and trails are stunning, with a lot of bird life around the hotel. The humming bird feeders in the morning were a particular highlight. We managed all of the roads in a saloon car so 4x4 not necessary. The staff were friendly and food was nothing special but perfectly fine.

Its a high altitude spot so fairly cold and the cabins are not insulated so the little fan heaters don’t do much to heat the room but it was fine, just a bit chillier than we‘d been used to, but bring warm clothes!

the view from the jacuzzi in the room was amazing - upgrade to super if you’re choosing your room!

I’m scraping the barrel for a way to improve the incredible experience here… it would be nice if there was some bath salts or bubble bath for the jacuzzi bath

the grounds are beautiful as was the food and the room! We really enjoyed the trails on the property and the tour to see quetzals. our guide (property staff) was really knowledgeable and just a lovely person! breakfast was delicious!

Nothing really. We were a bit unfortunate to arrive late on an abnormally cold night. The room was understandably cold when we arrived and the shower was also a bit too cold for my liking. property provided us with heaps of warm blankets and an electric heater which made it much more comfortable! The water temperature of the shower wouldn’t be an issue in normal weather!

The beautiful walks in the high cloud forest, the views over the valley, gets a bit chilly in the evening but nothing we brits aren't used to. Fabulous location and the owner is incredibly helpful.

Way down to the room was very narrow and slippery (last one because of the rain) not suitable for older or disabled people and heavy luggage. The windows fogged very fast.

We had a problem with our car and the staff were incredibly supportive and understanding in helping us. We are very grateful to them. Great location.

Nothing not to like but bear in mind the altitude so it is cooler up here than most other locations

The hotel and facilities are nice. The view was beautiful, and the food quite good

We booked a bird walk for two hours with the hotel early in the morning. The only people who could have known we were not in the room (a small cabin) during that period were hotel staff, who seemed friendly and professional. We locked the door. On our return, the door was locked, the room seemed untouched, but a significant amount of cash was missing from a zipped bag at the bottom of a full suitcase. Passports were not taken, nor was all of the money— whoever did this clearly hoped the theft would go undetected. We reported this to the manager, who seemed genuinely surprised. This was the only negative experience we had on our trip to Costa Rica.

Nothing in particular Some rooms appeared to be scattered around the property . Moving around especially with luggage would have been difficult. However we were provided rooms at the same level

The personal and the location. Personal was 12/10. Excellent

The lamp in the middle of the bed. It is just not in the right place and we hurt ourseleves 2 times with it
