Room was a little dated, but it was charming, spacious and clean. We also had a large bathroom. The location is great, as it is near the main walking shopping street. We had an early flight to catch so we didn't have time to take the breakfast, but it looked very nice.

Poor communication. I still remember the employee “Sophie” who’s very rude to me. When I just arrived at this hotel, she just said to me “Passport” Not “passport pls”. Also, she didn’t check my reservation number and she kept saying she can’t find my booking information lol. But Fortunately, my Chinese friend just came and solved the problem. It was a horrible service which I didn’t expect from 5 star hotels. Plus, I just found a used bathrobe in the restroom. Horrible experience . I stayed Hilton, urcove by hyatt while I stayed in SH but Grand central hotel was the worst among them

The hotel personell was really supportive and friendly.

There were two factors that made our stay exceptional, one is the staff and the other was its location. We tried originally two other hotels, but both, including a Kempinsky, refused to receive us as we came from a foreign country. When we eventually came to Grand Central Hotel Shanghai, we were welcomed with open arms. The hotel has been extremely professional at all parts, the service was just great.

The hotel was perfect! We loved the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in. The service, location, and old world style made our visit to Shanghai something to remember.

We liked: - the luggage being brought to our room - the comfortable beds - the spacious bathroom - the food (waffles, bread pudding and wonton) offered for breakfast - the swimming pool

The hotel is very nice, the rooms were spacious. Breakfast was good. The concierge was very nice and helpful, most of the staff speaks English. The location is great, very comfortable and close to the main sight seeing area.

At our second evening we ate a cake and drank 2 glasses of wine( the cake was delivered by the hotel) . The dirty dishes were left at our room, the cleaning staff didn’t took them. They gave us one card for each room ( we had 2 rooms) we asked for more cards and lost one of them, they charged us for 60 rmb for the lost card. This is the first time ever that we are asked to pay for a lost card and i find it hard to believe that the plastic card costs more than few rmb.

The location is great if you want to be by the Bund and high class shopping

Our Booking Room size was 37m, But hotel give us about 80m. Health Club was Perfect(Oil Massage)

First Day staff was not helpful but next Days was ok. very expensive Breakfast, outside of hotel you can have cheaper good quality Breakfast
