Very nice I could not get a drink there I like vodka and bottled coke or Diet Coke but they only had draft coke and I don’t like it.I thought the breakfast was a bit steep it was 12.50 per person each day.But apart from that it was very nice .

Polite staff but run down appearance. Mattress dirty when inspecting it. Tired furniture with broken bedside table on one side and top of other was dirty. Old curtains which were heavy to shut and didn’t close properly. Staff were lovely but needs a good updating on interior and exterior

Great place for a short city break. Easy walk or short bus ride to city centre taking advantage of free parking. Room a little tired but spacious. Breakfast was excellent with good quality local ingredients. We visit York regularly and will definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed staying at The Lighthorseman apartment. The rooms are large and comfortable, there is even a kitchen and the bathroom is large. The beds are comfortable . The apartment is very nicely located close to Barbican Theatre and the city centre

Great value, comfortable bed and friendly staff.

Stay was ok, there was no hairdryer in the room and only a diffuser attachment in the drawer. Didn’t like that I could only check out from 8am as I needed to leave earlier. Overall stay was fine

Stayed for 2 nights, check in was easy including the car in their carpark. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was exactly as expected. Only a short walk to York centre (15 mins to Jorvik viking centre, 17 mins to The Shambles).

Everything just needed a good clean and a lick of paint. The pub itself was a typical & friendly and fun pub. Staff were lovely. A big group of us are there one evening else, which was nice. The local steak pie they serve was amazing, just not very warm. A jug of gravy heated it up a bit more. For £125 a night it was disappointing. The bathroom constantly had a damp, mould smell. I couldn’t see any mould but the smell was so overpowering I had to keep the window open. There was dust over every surface. The kettle was placed on the high mantle but the power cable didn’t reach the socket unless you put the kettle on the bedside table. Having parking was a huge bonus. Tea and coffee in the room was a bonus once the kettle was resituated. The bed was comfy, plenty of pillows. Headboard had dubious stains over it. Towels were clean and enough for 2. I just felt like there were so many simple things that could have made it better. Air freshener and a good wipe down with a damp cloth would have worked wonders.

Checking is at 2pm and not before as the hotel does not open until then. Not possible to leave bags anywhere if you happen to arrive early. Not close to anything really. We had to Uber anywhere we went. When we did check in we were told our room was up stairs, yes up stairs, not just one flight but two. The top flight had no handrails what so ever. WiFi was useless. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel were good. Room was dated but larger than we expected.

Staying here will be "rough sledding" in the hot summer months. No fans in the rooms, sluggish housekeeping, and old spring mattresses. The plus side is location, neighborhood, a relatively quiet bar for getting work done, and privacy (from little housekeeping). Maps are deceiving. This hotel is *not* an accessible walk to the university.

stayed 2 nights Dan and his team very good 2 x breakfast full English very tasty and filling would recommend the pasta linguine with roast chicken for dinner very tasty very good choice off real ale nothing to much trouble very good standard

Good location , does in my opinion need updating in the rooms , walk into town 10 minutes, breakfast wasn’t great.

The bathroom smelled like raw sewage. When having a shower the water smell like raw sewage & after having a shower you smelt like raw sewage. Definitely what we're going back again. !!!
