Of course the pictures looked muy bonita. And with the high end price - we had great expectations. Imagine the disappointment when the reality was some Motel 6 maintenance, and Super 8 motel quality service. While we were there, the air conditioner, toilet and shower all stopped working. Room service took 90 minutes on arrival (only after we called and had to re-order again.) The next morning, the front desk refused to contact us despite the tour van request, so we missed the bus and had to take an $80 cab. When the toilet and shower stopped working, the front desk never contacted me after the maintenance guy gave up fixing it. They reluctantly gave us another room - where there was no hot water and we took cold showers the rest of the time. When asking what compensation the would offer after such a disastrous experience? The offered us one free beer and 10% off our NEXT visit. We won't be back.

Beautiful hotel providing peace and tranquility in the jungle on the edge of Tulúm. Fanando was especially brilliant! A few issues: breakfast was just fine, but a bit limited and a bit stingy. They only let you have two items in your omelette. Not that I’m a eco warrior, but they profess to be eco friendly, but were constantly collecting leaves into big plastic bags. The ecofriendliness just felt like a bit of a selling point, rather than a proactive thing they were really doing. The aircon wasn’t really good enough. We got quite sweaty despite it being on max. Don’t let my points put you off. We had a really great trip. They just need this feedback: 1. Don’t be so stingy with breakfast. 2. Be proactively eco friendly if that is really your thing. 3. Sort out the aircon.

Everybody at Hotel Bardo was great! Chef made a lot happen, bartenders were awesome, and the hostess was absolutely perfect! We are definitely visiting again!

Amazing time in Tulum at an amazing property. The staff was wonderful, and the food was great. I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a peaceful get away.

Jay, Maria, & Julian were all extremely eager to help and make our stay seamless. The resort smelled amazing , can’t even describe until you’ve been there. The villas were clean , food was excellent & there were barely any bugs on the resort. If you want to relax in a tranquil jungle with the nicest staff ever , go to Bardo.

Bardo is a lovely place to stay in Tulum if you prefer to stay closer to Tulum town . The rooms are comfortable and stylish.The food in the restaurant is quite delicious but breakfast is a bit restrictive. There is only one restaurant and a bar. Massage is quite good too.

We came here for my husband's 40th birthday and couldn't be more pleased. The entire staff was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Special shout out to Leo who went above and beyond to make sure we were ok. Cannot wait to return!

Eight night stay. Amenities and property itself were great. However, the staff were found to be rude. Almost as if guests weren’t welcome. At first, we considered perhaps this was just with us, but we spoke with other guests and found they too were having the same issues.

Horrible experience with my stay at Bardo Hotel. I was robbed from my villa, $1700 US Dollars. The staff went through my belongings and stole all the cash that I had and left me with $200 USD. The money was hidden in a compartment in my book bag and literally one night to the next, it was all gone. Management came to “look for the money” in my villa and obviously didn’t find anything. They claimed that their workers are reliable and wouldn’t do such thing. This high end hotel is filled with unreliable staff. We spent more than 6 hours to “find a solution” and in the end, I was not paid the $1700 stolen. There is no reason a consumer pays high prices for a stay and can’t feel any type of security. Or even take responsibility for WHAT THEIR EMPLOYEES did. Very terrifying experience, I can whole heartedly say I will never revisit this hotel again. We called local police and they even said it wasn’t their first time visiting BARDO HOTEL about a robbery. They are some thieves. Horrible management. Something needs to be done about this. Expedia can’t support a hotel that steals from their consumers.

The last mile to the property is unpaved, and when it rains… We didn’t know we have breakfast included until the checkout date! And I asked when we checked in, is any food included? The answer was no.

great hotel with a plunge pool that we could not use as it is cold in December. Hotel has dark tone and wish there would be more light in the room. bardo is away from the city center. We rented a car so it was convenient for us to move around as taxis get expensive.

I came here with my girlfriend for my birthday from October 30 - November 5. This property was good overall. Not a lot of people so it is Very quite. The staff is amazing & so helpful & they will make sure you enjoy your stay not just on the resort but in tulum in general by suggesting & help planning amazing excursions for your trip. PROS: food on the resort is good. ( should still eat outside the resort) Staff is very helpful & attentive Main pool is beautiful & great to swim in Rooms are nice for you & your partner (7/10) in my opinion Bikes / scooters to rent on resort CONS: Had to switch rooms due to bugs.( i get that we’re in the jungle & it’s impossible to prevent all the bugs from entering your room but it got a bit excessive. Once they started crawling on the bed & waking us up out our sleep we had to ask to a room change.) once we got a new room we never had that issue for the rest of the trip. Room change was also free of charge. You can NOT flush your toilet paper after you use it. Must dispose of it in the garbage. They do change it daily / on demand No atm on the resort. A taxi to the nearest atm from bardo will cost about $30.00 / $40.00 Pools in your villa look bigger in pictures than in person. Sectional in your villa looks nice but isn’t the comfiest. Also very low to the ground Overall my girlfriend & I really enjoyed our stay for the 6 nights we were here. We would recommend a stay here!

It’s ả really nice hotel with a great architecture and with amazing room and service. I would recommend staying here. It’s better if you check in directly they might save you some money. Only thing they do not have all inclusive other wise it’s a good place to stay.

It’s far from the beach side , and during the night you can hear the music on the Main Street
