I wish rooms don’t have carpet since hard floor is much easier to clean and sanitize. The pool was small and busy for the size of the hotel. And parking was under construction so we need to walk a short distance every time which is ok if you don’t have bags with you and not in the middle of night. Otherwise everything was good

We had to evacuate just before midnight. Early check-in time was not clear when I called when I went to check in they told me that I was 15 minutes too early so I had to leave and come back.

There is no parking accomodation

The parking lot was in construction and there was no compensation....just told to park at the mall and have to pay... if you advertise free parking,then there should be compensation of some kind for 30$/day parking fee because of an inconvenience caused by your responsibility. Pool area is very closed off feeling and basic.

Fastest elevators, delicious cookies at check in. Helpful friendly staff. Amazing breakfast buffet. Only issue was the upgraded room that i reserved and paid extra for was not available Couldn't offer price difference refund because i had prepaid for the room. Compensated us with free breakfast which waa delicious

The washrooms in the main lobby were dirty. Rest of the Hotel was clean.

Very accommodating staff and nicely appointed guest rooms. Hotel is centrally located to major landmarks and parking is convenient. The city unfortunately has not adequately addressed rampant mental health and public drug use within the surrounding area so a return visit to the hotel and city is not on our radar.

Staff were really helpful and friendly. The location is great, for getting around Ottawa. The downtown area is looking more and more like most large cities in Canada, no fault of the hotel... just happenstance of being down town.

This hotel is centrally located, recently updated and very comfortable. We found everything we wanted within walking distance. The reception staff were fantastic and the warm cookies were a great touch.

It is a good hotel. Conveniently located near Rideau Street, the Rideau station (public transit), and CF Rideau (a large shopping centre). It is within walking distance of a few key areas such as the Rideau Canal and Parliament Hill. The room is quite standard: it was modern and clean. Overall, it is a good mid-range hotel.

Hotel in a fantastic area near the Byward market and Rideau Centre. All walkable. A lot of construction in the area so driving is chaotic and not a big pull through to unload anything. Staff at front desk not exactly friendly. Parking was under renovations so was a hassle to find spots in area around hotel as the shopping mall is right there and spots full. When your daughter is hesitant to ask for a toothbrush from same person at front desk who checked us in, there may be a customer service issue developing. Otherwise a good place to stay if you are looking for somewhere close to the tourist spots.

Great location, staff and room. Coffee maker in room was so loud it wakes up the neighbors, and grabbing a 2 coffees downstairs was $9 after paying hundreds for the room, this is unacceptable. Albion restaurant is overpriced for average food

Hotel needs all staff to be on same page. One staff told me I could keep my cooler in the hotel walk in freezer overnight. I've done this 15 times in the past 15 years I've stayed at hotel. When I went to put it in desk clerk told me I can't put it in. Fine - but this needs to be the same across all staff so I can make alternate arrangements for the cooler.

Liked the location of the hotel; close to everything and I could walk everywhere. Didn't like that I asked to check out a day early because of a family illness and was told that I still would be charged for the final day

Great place to stay in close proximity to Byward market and the Rideau centre. It was a little noisy when I went due to construction but the amenities were great and the breakfast was top notch. I would stay here again.

The power was off in the hotel for maintenance from 10pm to 6am so we had no lights, wifi or elevator usage. They should have comped us for the night but instead gave us a breakfast voucher. Pretty underwhelming response to such a major inconvenience.

This is not a 4 star hotel. It is 3.5 aspiring to be 4. I would not stay here again. When booking through Expedia on June 3rd, there was no mention of the upcoming renovation on their parking garage. I expected to park at the hotel and have in-out privileges but had to use indoor parking at the mall next door with no in-out privileges. It took 20 minutes of wandering around the mall with my bags to find my way back to the hotel. I was upset when I arrived and made that very clear to the afternoon manager. She admitted to me that they had added the note about the parking situation to their website a week prior in response to other customer complaints. She offered free breakfast but I declined. She told me the day manager would contact me. This never happened. I was very clear that I would be leaving a negative review. What else was bad? How about a maid knocking on my door at 8:50am to clean? Or a TV too far away from the bed to be useful, lacking channels like NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Discovery that you find in a '4 star' hotel. Or the most uncomfortable couch ever? The good? The room was clean, well appointed (aside from the TV and couch) and was quiet. The location is excellent - steps to the Byward Market and numerous attractions. And the staff (aside from the manager who never contacted me) were helpful and friendly. I still wouldn't return. Failing to provide accurate info when booking and management not following up with me aren't forgivable.
