Really friendly staff on the reception, very helpful as we were visiting university she was really helpful.

The stay was very comfortable and all the staff very friendly Breakfast was excellent and the chef at Breakfast in the mornings (Mark) kept an eye on how and when food was required. ( a real character who made you feel welcome)

Friendly staff, good room excellent breakfast

I always stay here when I am in Newcastle. A welcoming, clean, friendly, comfortable home from home. Great staff. Reasonably priced in a lovely location: Jesmond's quiet streets, parks and cafes. It's a student-centred neighbourhood but also full of families. Easy to get to the centre of the city walking or by Metro.

The best thing about our stay was the staff at HI. They were all super friendly and helpful and seemed to be entering into the North Run Spirit. The hotel is convienently located for the GNR (close to the start) which is great. The slight downside is that it's on a very busy road - I guess there's not much they can do about this. The restaurant and bar next door are very good (we ate there one night and also used it as a meeting place for our group). Our room was perfectly fine. All the facilities you'd expect from a HI. Maybe a refurb before too long might brighten things up a bit.

I have stayed in IHG hotels around the world and this I can safely say was the worst. The bed was unfit for purpose and the mattress was ready to be thrown away. The dining room was expensive but the food was cold. Breakfast was the same. The staff could not heat a pancake up and the coffee was near undrinkable. I made a complaint to the front desk but the duty manager Oscar wasnt due in until the afternoon. As an IHG hotel I expected better and at the very least a bed that one could fall asleep in. Which we didnt. Why should I pay for a room With a bed that is unsleepable in. I made my feelings known but they were unable to do anything.

We’ve stayed here several times before and find it clean, convenient and comfortable. However, they recently started charging for parking which would be acceptable if there was enough parking! I paid when I checked in but on return that evening there was no where to park and the surrounding area is all residents parking. The room we had (room 205) was extremely strange in that the bathroom has a glass door and a mirror behind the toilet meaning if one is using the toilet, anyone in the bedroom has a full view, front and back. After 20 years of marriage my husband and I have few secrets but this was a step too far even for us!! We’ll definitely request a different room if we stay here again. Otherwise, as always, the staff are friendly, the location convenient and the bed is comfortable.

Great stay as always at holiday inn, the reception staff were great.

A convenient location for arriving by car. Car park part of the hotel building. Publuc rooms nicely decorated with lots of comfy seating. A Starbucks in the foyer gave another option for breakfast or snack..Our room was large and very clean. Lots of choice at buffet breakfast. The hot food was about the best cooked Ive had in a hotel. Friendly helpful staff too.

Bedroom was adequate. But the floorboards were damaged which wasn’t reassuring when walking over. The dressing table anglepoise light wouldn’t tighten up which rendered it useless. Poor signal to TV, sound quality intermittent. Breakfast was very varied and excellent value but for the fact that it was overcooked. The hotel was ok for an overnight stay but I would be unlikely to want to stays any longer.

There were uneven levels on the flooring, and the carpet was garish. The area around the hotel isn't the nicest.

Everything was good except the air conditioning was like crystal maze trying to figure it out.

As usual, staff at reception were extremely helpful, super friendly and couldn't have done more than they did, to make us feel welcome. We always use this hotel whilst visiting Newcastle on our trips 'Up North' and will continue to do so. Location in and out of Newcastle is easy to get to and the Metro station is a 3 minute walk away giving quick and easy access into the city centre. Thank you

The location is not great, but the room itself is good and has all the features we needed. Decoration was a bit ‘tired’ but nothing really bad. Breakfast was good.

Such warm and welcoming staff at reception who helped us with local knowledge, restaurant recommendations and information about student life in Newcastle! Very friendly - would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying over to look at universities.

I would like to congratulate all the staff at holiday inn Jesmond for their willingness to help , excellent service , caring attitude and smiling faces !!! I had a most enjoyable stay and was very comfortable . staff went out their way to help specially dining room staff and chefs Mark and Paulo who looked after my friend who had lactose and gluten intolerances . nothing was a problem to all staff . thank you very much .

Second time at Holiday Inn in Newcastle Jesmond and I love it. The staff was so pleasant and respectful. They go above and beyond to meet your need.This hotel will always be my pick every time I spend time in Newcastle. Kudos to the kitchen staff. They are the nicest!The continental breakfast was awesome!

Really helpful and kind staff. Lovely clean room. Lovely shower with nice natural soaps. Would stay again for sure.

We stayed for three nights and chose the hotel as it was slightly outside the Centre of Newcastle and had parking. Can walk to the Centre or easily catch the Metro. Breakfast had a good selection and staff were friendly. We would stay here again.
