We wanted a room for the night in York and it was exactly what we needed. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and we were able to park.

We had a 1-night stay, for 4 - 2 adults and 2 children in 1 room, 1 double and 2 single beds. The room was tidy and quiet but average, very reasonably priced compared to alternatives in York on a Friday night, but not great value otherwise. The mattress and pillows were all uncomfortable and not representative of the asking price, none of us slept too well. The bathroom had a few leftover hairs that were there before us. In the early hours of the morning there was a power outage which affected the B+B and others in the street. Unfortunately this hindered our getting ready in the morning, but no fault of the hotel, the staff did all they could to help out. The cooked breakfast was very good, served promptly, with good hot drinks options. The cold continental breakfast didn't have any pastries or fruit options, however we did leave satisfied. Parking is chargeable but excellent, had the opportunity to leave the car early before check in which was great. The B+B is a very close walk to the centre. The staff were a top selling point for our stay; everyone we interacted with be it at check-in, ordering a couple of drinks at the bar in the evening, breakfast, and check-out were happy, professional, and couldn't do enough to help us out, a real credit to the B+B!

The 2 members of staff who stood out and were excellent are Vicky and Emma. However, my sister is disabled and the hotel would not allow her to charge her mobilty scooter in the hotel and the bar was closed at 9pm both nights we were there.

A really nice an quiet place in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The staff is really helpful and nice and the breakfast is good.

Everything was perfect very clean nice tasty cooked breakfast but was disappointed with the bathroom,although it was spotless,there was no handwash shower was small and did not run well.The shower hose needs replacing it wasn't worth the price I paid.

Good location, about 15 minutes walk from railway station and from York Minster, in quiet back street. Friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast.

Great location, 15 minute walk to the centre. In a quiet location with parking which is a bonus in York. Room was spacious with a great shower. Breakfast very good. Very good value for money.

Second stay in one of their single rooms, so knew what to expect, but keep in mind they're very small. A larger person wouldn't be able to get in the shower. Great location, good value and friendly staff

Great room, lots of space. Everything you need for a few nights away, The hotel is only 10minutes walk to Minster and Shambles. Staff very friendly from check in till we left. Breakfast there was a good selection of continental and hot dishes.

The building is really nice and well maintained. Much to be desired in our room. Strong sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom and definitely needs a new mattress. Springs coming through that really made sleep difficult. Joseph the desk attendant was excellent and very helpful.

Fantastic property. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating to guests needs. I travel around the UK and rarely find a hotel I would return to with family but this little gem has been added to my list. I will definitely be back.

Welcoming staff at check in and breakfast. Walkable distance from centre. Doggy bag on arrival. The only complaint is very poor sound insulation between rooms and floors. I could literally hear conversation from downstairs German neighbours at 4am.

Enjoyed our stay and Breakfast, good location for historic York

We booked the b&b for a family weekend in York and had a lovely time in the city. We picked this b&b because it advertised a games room so the kiddies would be happy in the evening, when we arrived we found there was no games room but were offered a pack of cards! We started a card game with the kiddies and the man on duty asked us to be quieter. The parking situation was disgraceful, we had to £10 a day and the second day we had the dungeon booked so needed 1 hour parking and they charged the full £10. The room itself was nice and a gluten free breakfast was a nice surprise bit over all our host was moody, parking was expensive, the non existent games room and an expensive bar we weren’t expecting

Location was excellent easy to walk into town centre. Hotel was comfortable all staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms were excellent clean and very cosy and warm.Would definitely recommend this hotel and we hope to return.

Nice enough place and bed was very comfy. Shame they were playing loud cheesy music in the bar untill 11pm on a random Wednesday night. Not great after a long day travelling and wanting an early night. 8am was the earliest i could get breakfast which made it very tight for my 9am meeting

This was a simple, but clean and comfortable stay. Moderate walk to town. Breakfast was excellent.

Very nice room and friendly staff. A good breakfast EV charging available only seems to be on 13amp. Though not an issue for me this time as I had reasonable charge on arrival.

Wonderful place. Beautiful old house on a tranquil dead-end street within walking distance of the main city sites. The staff members were welcoming and low-key. My room (a single) was very clean and quiet. The breakfast choices included a full Yorkshire Breakfast. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay in a truly beautiful city. I'd stay there again.
